About this property

Beautiful cabin, spotlessly clean sleeps 1-5 and has a HOT TUB on the front porch, just outside the master bedroom. We are just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and our cabin is PET FRIENDLY (well-behaved dogs only!) Come stay at “It’s 5 O’Clock Here,” and enjoy the wonderful views, stocked fishing pond, fire pit with wood, free wifi/internet, the cool mountain weather, and all of the nearby activities. This cabin has all of the modern amenities. Our master bedroom features a queen-size memory foam mattress. Our loft bedroom is roomy and cozy and accessible by an interior ladder. We provide Keurig coffee maker, crockpots for easy cooking, and nice updated cookware.

The cabin includes a full kitchen with microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Our living room has a flat screen television and a stone fireplace (gas logs). Outside, enjoy our spacious front covered deck, fishing gear, Adirondack chairs, and pond view! There is a permanent outdoor charcoal grill right outside the door.

Travel to nearby Buffalo Mountain for a breathtaking Piedmont view hike, ride gravel or mountain bikes on the New River Trail (a 57-mile rail-to-trail starting in Galax, VA). Or, just sit on the covered front porch that overlooks the well-stocked pond and listen to the quiet.

The cabin is located 15 minutes away from Mt. Airy, NC (‘Mayberry’ from the Andy Griffith Show), Hillsville, VA, and 20 minutes from Galax, VA. There are numerous local restaurants, breweries, and wineries, and often live bluegrass music. Recently completed, “It’s Time to Unwine” is our second cabin. This cabin can be rented dually to accommodate larger families or groups. Contact us for details.

The cabin is less than 1/10 of a mile from Wellness Pursuits, and they offer yoga and fitness classes in a rural mountain setting.

While driving to the local wineries, stop by the local cherry, grape, apple and peach orchards, all within 15-30 minutes. Check out Mount Airy, NC, Andy Griffith's hometown Mayberry, and a great, thriving small town that is fun to visit!

This is a family-operated vacation home from the cabin detailing to the rental bookings. We are all proud of this home and want each and every guest to enjoy their stay. We do allow dogs and the area is dog friendly. We just ask for you to look after the cabin like it is yours. If any additional information is required during rentals, such as directions, supplies, etc., please call Laura or Dennis.

Are stay at this cabin,a 5 star had a blast,

NO cell, internet, TV & Egregious Cleaning Policy

This property does NOT have cell, tv or internet service. I took a screenshot of a speed test after resetting the (DSL?!) modem which showed 0.29 Mbps. Looking at neighbor’s houses they all appear to be using satellite for internet and TV services which is appropriate in such a remote area. As a former host myself, it is perfectly appropriate for this property be listed however it should be completely disclaimed as having no communication access. After charging a full cleaning fee, this host has the audacity to instruct us to “complete all the laundry, all the dishes, take out the trash AND … here’s the kicker, they have posted a sign requesting guests to tip the cleaning crew $20 when we do most of the cleaning work??!!

Just what we needed

The place was VERY cozy, with an amazing view and place to relax, we came to spend Christmas and we had a great time, it was nice and quiet, the jacuzzi while looking the sunrise was so peaceful. We had 2 dogs and they both had a great time, spaces to run and explore, also great trails around to take them. We will be back, we loved this place.

My husband, Dennis, and I love the outdoors. We both enjoy cycling, hiking, good food, breweries, and wineries and this part of Virginia is perfect for adventuring. We are the new owners of two adorable cabins, "Time to Unwine" and "It's Five O'Clock Here," located in Fancy Gap just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We look forward to sharing them with you! We have worked closely with the previous owner and VRBO host during the transition so we can ensure you have a great experience at our cabins.

We fell in love with these cabins as soon as we saw them. We love joy riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoying nature. The cabins are in a peaceful rural setting that is great for families and also with so many fun things to do and to see within a short drive.

What makes this property unique

Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and adjacent to a pond. Very peaceful and quiet. Enjoy the solitude. We are 15 miles from downtown Mt. Airy, also known as "Mayberry", home of Andy Griffith with museums, shopping, etc. Great quaint mountain shops, lots and lots of fruit orchards our area is famous for, rivers, canoe rentals, horse rentals, hiking, breweries, and wineries. The cabin is less than 1/10 of a mile from Wellness Pursuits, which offers yoga and fitness classes in a rural mountain setting.
