The original Victorian era details are breathtaking and include... 3 stained glass windows & 2 curved windows, ornate decorative ceiling adornments & plaster friezes, 2 fireplaces, 3 sets of working 8' pocket doors, all original woodwork including walnut/maple floors, 10' baseboards and many original custom built-ins. It still holds all the charm and character that was intended, however it also has been updated with a gorgeous new kitchen. It has antique rod iron fencing around the 50 year old perennial garden.

For some reason when we turn on the sauna feature it seems to add hot tub as well please note there is a claw foot tub and a sauna but not a hot tub. ***

I am a mother of three grown sons and a retired high school science teacher here in Marquette. My husband is the owner of a local brewery. We love to travel and experience new areas as locals would so we decided to provide the same experience for travelers coming to Marquette. We will provide you with "live like a local" suggestions. We enjoy using our local trail network for running and biking. Lake Superior in the summer is our paradise with boating, paddle boarding and swimming in our crystal clear cold lake! We love dining and drinking at the locally owned venues throughout the city. We decided in 2019 to buy the gorgeous Victorian house next door to rent it to guests. We are excited to host your vacation.

Why they chose this property

We have currently lived in our house next door for 28+ years! It is where we raised our kids and I love it. I love all of the historic homes on our block but my favorite isn’t my house. My favorite is the Onion Tower next door. Built in 1898 the onion tower Victorian is a historic gem. Watching it go for sale years ago got me thinking and seeing it empty for over a year made me sad. The gorgeous gardens started to become over grown and I yearned to restore the home.
I’m excited to say we purchased the historic gem and put it up as a short term rental in 2019. I couldn’t be happier about this adventure. We enjoy renting it out so all can enjoy this beautiful home. Consider this beautiful home for your next adventure. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

What makes this property unique

The location and historical beauty of the home makes The Onion Tower unique! Walkable to everything. 1/2 block from Third street corridor 6 blocks from Washington street shops, restaurants etc. walk 4 blocks east to Lake Superior beaches.
Guests also love the shared fitness sauna room for extra amenities to enjoy.

The house is divided up into 3 units. The large main unit is 3 floors of living space with 4 furnished bedrooms, 3 full baths, two dining areas, gorgeous modern kitchen, a main living room area, A library with working fireplace, TV room in basement, laundry room, and outside back deck and huge front porch area. There are also 2 back apartments that are separate rentals with separate entrances in the back and attic floors of the home. Let us know if you have a larger group and would like to see if the other rentals are available.
