The best of Hawaii awaits you in this large (1519 sf) oceanfront double-sized corner condo at renowned Colony Surf on Oahu's Gold Coast. Cooled by ceiling fans and trade winds, this remodeled and beautifully furnished treasure was originally 2 units combined to create one. 4-person max.

Enjoy beachside living at its finest! Although there no pool, you can enjoy the blue sparkling waters of Colony Surf's semi-private beach, walk or play tennis at nearby Kapiolani Park, visit the Waikiki Aquarium and Honolulu Zoo, or enjoy fine French dining at Michel's, located on the ground floor. At the Colony Surf, you'll be away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, yet a close enough walk or quick drive to shopping, casual and fine dining, nightlife and the many attractions and activities that Waikiki has to offer. Bus service is also available to Waikiki, grocery stores and shops in the area and to Ala Moana Center.

Away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki but close enough to easily walk to restaurants and nearby Waikiki beaches. The stove and oven aren't functioning but there is a hotplate and an air fryer.

Strangely furnished

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lovely location, large and beautiful condo but many things are not quite right. No oven, extremely low flow shower, silly automatic toilets which are constantly opening and closing, and no cupboard space in the kitchen or bedroom make it uncomfortable.

I do apologize if we did not meet your expectations. We provide accurate photos along with our unit descriptions so all guests have this information to consider when making a reservation choice. In our unit description it states: combination microwave/convection oven and glass cooktop (No traditional oven) and for the toilet "Washlet commode". We understand how frustrating it may be when things don't go as planned and we apologize if it was not adequately conveyed and you somehow missed these items. We value you as a customer and hope you will keep us in mind for future vacation plans.

Dream Condo!

My husband and I stayed at the unit with our two young children for an overdue month long vacation… Our flight did not arrive until 10pm, and by the time we reached the building it was close to midnight. Property manager was very nice, stayed up to waited for us, and provided clear check-in instruction over the phone. During our stay, property manager was helpful and very easy to get in touch with via text and responded to our questions promptly! Now, about the property… we booked this unit for the amazing ocean view but when we checked in, we were SURPRISED at how breathtaking the view is in person!!! Pictures don’t do it justice. You can enjoy the incredible ocean view from almost any location in the unit. Our kids also loved that there’s a beach right downstairs! The unit also comes with everything we needed and more! Kitchen supplies, beach items, and stylish furniture. Although there is no air conditioner in unit, the ceiling fans and wide windows help tremendously :) Overall, this condo perfected our trip and we look forward to returning again for our next vacation!

Dysfunctional

Colony Surf is a nice building. We've stayed there several times before in a studio that had been remodeled and were completely pleased. In comparison, this unit was a disappointment Kitchen: * No working oven * Broken standalone convection oven/toaster (replaced with something pretty mediocre) * Broken microwave (replaced with something functional but quite dated) * Inadequate electricity meant that appliances could not be used concurrently * A half-dishwasher... for a unit that is advertised as accommodating 4 people, this is a joke Main Bathroom: - Bathroom door did not close (handyman fixed) - Shower design was insanely poor and caused water to pool and run over the edge; this resulted in the need to mop up after EVERY shower - No shower mat in conjunction with above water pooling issue resulted in both my daughter and I slipping and bruising our inner thighs - Only one towel hook (awkwardly placed over the toilet) - There were two other towel hooks IN THE SHOWER, making them useless if you actually wanted a towel to dry Master Bedroom * NO DOOR!!! This really invalidates the condo as 1 BR... * A laundry closet door that couldn't close because the machines protruded * Headboards were loosely attached to the wall, which meant that rolling over or any movement in bed would make noise * TV did not work Overall: * Water would get warm but never hot. This was very frustrating for showers and concerning re dishwashing * No closet access in the MB and cluttered closets in the bathroom meant there was very little closet space... for a monthly rental * Ceiling fans were hung very low, especially considering their placement in the middle of rooms. This was a hazard because an adult man with raised arms could get hurt. * There was one cordless vac that couldn't keep a charge and a non-functioning iRobot. * Elevators were consistently broken * We checked in three days after our rental began and rugs hadn't been cleaned yet

The perfect place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is perfect. We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is right on the water with stunning views. The condo itself is well appointed and we enjoyed watching the sunsets from the living room . The beds are very comfortable. Although one is not right on the hotel strip the walk through bKapiolani Park to all the restaurants and shops is so pleasant and only about 12 to 15 minutes. We walked from the condo to wherever we wanted, Diamond Head, Waikiki, and the beaches and shops.There is the nicest beach right in front of the condo and the fact that the condo is away from the hotels makes for a peaceful stay. We will be back to this condo for sure. Byron and Captain Cook Resorts do a superb job and we highly recommend both Byron and the Cmpany.

The unit's condition states that phones in the United States can be used for free. But we couldn't use this phone until we left. Due to COVID-19, we needed a phone to order food, but it was inconvenient because we couldn't use it. I hope this part will be improved. Thank you for providing a very clean unit.

A month in Hawaii during the coronavirus pandemic.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our timing was not the best as 3/4 of our stay was under "shelter in place" orders from the state of Hawaii. But staying in unit 604 made everything less is a beautifully renovated beachfront unit with all the conveniences one could hope for to survive a prolonged lockdown ;an efficient well stocked kitchen, 2 nicely done bathrooms with the latest Toto hi-tech toilets, a large dining table seating 8, a well furnished living room with a 65" TV' and a separate bedroom with 2 king sized beds and a 55" TV. The icing on the cake was the amazing view of the beach and ocean offering views of all the water activity (surfing, paddle boarding, and outrigger canoeing, not to mention the most sterling sunsets with the occasional green flash. We enjoyed a very active beach scene at least until the next door Outrigger Canoe Club shut down the 3rd week of our stay. Overall we would do it again as this is the best place to stay in Hawaii.
