Location doesn't get better than this (short of ski in / ski out) - 5 minutes from skiing on the highway b/n Whiteface and WIlmington, but tucked in with no car noise. The interior is dated per the photos, but the cabin is clean and warm. Living room / kitchen are spacious enough to invite friends for dinner. Heating is a bit on the noisy side and some rooms get warmer, but it all worked great for us. Excellent value overall, would come back next time if available.
We stayed in this cabin back in August. It was our 2nd stay and it was just as awesome as the first. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We loved being able to sit around the fire pit. It rained 2 of the nights we stayed so we played board games and watched movies on the big screen tv. As a busy family we don't get to do that very often. Robert, Yann, and Michelle took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed for an amazing trip. Unfortunately our dog got sick so we had to leave a day early. Robert texted me to see if our stay was ok and ask about the dog - he is fine. Since we had to leave early, there were a couple of things we did not get to do so we definitely want to go back. When we do, we will only stay here!
It was ok for a couple of guys fishing but floors were squishy in many places. Wi fi was almost nonexistent. Fire pit didn’t match the picture. Very dated “cabin” was actually an old mobile home. Pricey for what it was.
Lovely & peaceful location in the woods! Better than expected. Robert & Yann are great hosts! Very helpful and easy to work with. Our team really enjoyed our stay!
The location of this property was perfect for our planned activities and provided everything we needed to enjoy our time in the Lake Placid area. The new owners are wonderful and communicated with us throughout our time. They are also working hard in updating all the amenities but everything we needed was just fine. We would definitely recommend the Wilderness Inn and look forward to having another opportunity to visit in the future.
My sisters and I rented a cabin for a couple of nights. This was not a pleasure trip~i had driven all the way from Florida, 1800+ miles, to bury our eldest sister. We had booked the Aspen in the beginning, but there were issues with the heater. I called our host, Yann, who quickly contacted the onsite manager, Michelle. Michelle was amazing. She had another cabin to put us in, and she put our needs first, cleaned Spruce (which actually suited us better than Aspen!), and got us moved in quickly. The cabin was wonderful, neat as a pin and comfortable. There's a small grocery store only a couple of miles from the cabins, which was super convenient. All in all it was a great stay, albeit for a sad time. Yann and Michelle made it so much better. I'd definitely book here again.
Things were very good overall. We had poor water pressure in the kitchen sink, I notified them after we left and they said they would look into it. Everything else was good. They checked in by text message while we were there to make sure things were going well.
Plumbing issue under the living room floor wasn't able to be rectified, so the owners put us up in a nice cabin at the KOA. The outdoor area of this property didn't match the description either. I was hoping for a nice outdoor seating area, but most chairs were dirty or broken. The owner and caretaker were very pleasant to deal with though and our cabin at the KOA was beautiful.
Wilderness Inn is a collection of quaint country cabins in a perfect pine grove. The air is magnificent, the location is superb. If you needs to detox after the hustle and bustle of a big city, you cannot find a better place to do it. Staff is friendly and attentive to all your needs. Pleasure!

Wi-Fi only with special adapter but difficult to use on more than one device at a time
Surrounding campus not cared for discarded furniture and other debris in plain sight

Very Affordable Retreat
My family and I stayed for a quick stay at this property. At the time of our stay, it had been recently acquired and the hosts were working on redoing several of the units. Unfortunately, ours had an intense smell of smoke and mold and we saw that the floor was swollen and wet in our unit. We notified the host and they said they would address both, but was not able to before we left. Communication with the host was excellent and I am confident they will make the improvements.
Nice quiet atmosphere with cute restaurant. Close to Whiteface Mountain, lake placid, mirror lake and high falls gorge. Beautifully nestled in the woods but still close to anything you need (gas, supplies, food, ice cream, activities).
My sons and I had an excellent, we had last minute schedule change and the host was very accommodating. Our stay was very clean, and housekeeping helpful. After a full day of ADK activities, nice to walk-in known we have clean place, towels and linings.
Thank you Robert and Yann for a wonderful stay.

My family stayed here for an overnight recently. The location is very convenient. The property was clean and spacious. We were planning on a relaxing vacation, thus did not need internet access (actually appreciated being disconnected from the world!) If you need access to the internet for work, etc. this service is not currently available in this property, thus you should just be informed. Many people could stay here and you have privacy as well
New management, we had a great time exploring the area. Lots to see and close to the Olympic village and Whiteface Mountain. Rustic cabin, needs updating but new management is working on it. Would stay again. Great communication with property management.
Though it was rustic, it worked well for us! We hiked nearby in the beautiful mountains. The water heater didn't work, but the property manager worked hard all day to coordinate getting it fixed, which we appreciated!
Simple spot very close to Whiteface had everything we needed. If you are mainly looking for a spot to crash with the basics, it was well maintained, furnished, and clean, and owners were responsive. Happily surprised to see bathroom felt like being at a hotel (towels, toiletries). Right off the main road so easy access. Not huge but seemed bigger than the pictures give it credit and lots of spots for people to sleep.

Hunting and friends get together
Communication with owner only good when making reservations and paying. No return email otherwise. Restaurant was listed as open online but upon arrival found it was closed, apparently due to mismanagement by owner. Owner is absent (lives in another state) only plus is the manager/cabin attendant Michelle. She is awesome. After 25 years (mostly with prior owner) won’t be coming again.
check in and check out was real easy. Owner kept in contact often for anything we needed. Great location, easy to get to various places. Very quiet area. Peaceful.
