The larger bedroom is beautiful, exceptionally comfortable bed, and a calming view of trees through the window. Hosts were very responsive. The kitchenette is just large enough to prepare coffee or tea in the morning. Within close range of many excellent restaurants.

This was a great stay for us as we were renovating our house and needed a place to stay for a few days. We were really pleased with how beautiful the space was and the amenities offered fit all our needs. The setting was beautiful also. We wanted to move in permanently. I would recommend this space to anyone looking for a nice clean quiet space.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The place is gorgeous with beautiful garden, and the studio is cozy and inviting. The hosts Melanie and Gary are warm and welcoming people, and we felt very comfortable and at home.

Enjoyed our stay. Wish there was a better arrangement for sitting and relaxing in the apartment. Wish owners would consider converting the master bedroom to a living room and just keep unit as a one bedroom apartment. Would have been more enjoyable to relax indoors, but no where to really sit and relax.

Lovely hosts. Quickly responded to all inquiries. Property was as listed. Small but had all the conveniences of home, except an oven. The area was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great for a low-key weekend getaway with visits to nearby winery, state park, farmers market, and wonderful restaurants. Also,va good place for hikers to enjoy the area.

Amazing, cute cottage

Melanie, the owner, is wonderful. The cottage is private, clean, airy, with lots of natural light. The beds are very comfortable and the house comes with a kitchenette and outdoor gas grill. We will definitely return!

Cottage in the trees

The owner greeted us the first night. Very pleasant and super friendly. The space is beautiful and the fact that it was once an artist's studio for me made it even more special. The nearby lake is gorgeous. We brought our dog and she was very relaxed and comfortable for the stay. I thoroughly enjoyed the property and our mini vacation!

MDW Break in the woods

Melanie and Gary are lovely hosts! Their place is a special little gem in the woods near New Preston. And they have some friendly pups and delicious chocolate chip cookies! :)

Restorative Retreat in the Berkshires!

We enjoyed our restorative stay at Chagall’s Retreat in New Preston. Melanie and Gary were amazing hosts: we were welcomed with delicious cookies and a bottle of wine! Thank you so much Melanie.......the place was beautiful and perfect for us. We visited so many cool shops and restaurants, the lake, the Washington Green, etc. We even enjoyed the rain because we don't get to experience it much in Vegas. :) Again, thank you for making our stay memorable.
