Very Nice

Very nice stay. The cabin was clean with plenty of space for our family. Had everything that you needed. The lake was beautiful, we rented a pontoon and spent a lot of time on it. Also enjoyed the kayaks and Lily pad.

We had a great time.

There are plenty of different activities to keep everyone happy. From the sauna, to the games and tv's for indoor activities. Then outdoors you have 2 lakes to choose from. There were a ton of mosquitoes and horse flies, but it has been an extremely rainy year. Thankfully we had almost no rain for our entire stay and were able to enjoy both lakes. The road between the lake and the house was busier than expected for such a remote area. It is not a problem crossing to go to the lake, it helps if you listen to make sure there is not a car coming around the corner. We brought our bikes thinking we'd bike around on the country roads, but we didn't feel like it would have been safe on a narrow winding highway with no shoulders. Plenty of water activities and equipment to use. The rear lake is surrounded by a bog, it is pretty cool, but only the daring would probably want to try swimming in it. There is also a beaver den right by the dock and we regularly saw beavers. Thanks for letting us rent this place, we had a great time.

This cabin is comfortable and spacious enough however, a few things came up that was disappointing.

Pros: · Secluded area/quiet. Nice location and a close drive to town. AC works well. · Nice foosball and ping pong table. Large deck area with fire pit and comfortable chairs outside. Gorgeous back private lake with fishing boat for use. Canoes and Kayaks provided for use. Comfortable beds with extra linens, sheets, etc. Comfortable sofas and futon/sleepers. Open kitchen– kitchen is clean, well-lighted and all amenities worked well. Clean fridge, stove, cabinets, etc. Large kitchen table. Washer and dryer was a plus. Cabin iniside is clean. Maintenance contact is easy to get a hold of and is responsive. Cons: · Two members of our group got bed bug bites/rashes during our stay. They slept in the same bedroom/bed. We notified the owner of this after our visit when our family members went to urgent care to get their rashes looked at. Wish the owner would've offered some reimbursement but did not. Unfortunate. · There are three sliding doors; none of them locks, so we did not feel completely secure. Two of the sliding doors goes directly outside. The sliding doors are secured at the bottom by propping a wood piece in it so that you cannot slide it. · Main level and lower level are really two separate living areas. You have to go through lower level and two flights of small stairs to get to the main level. It is difficult especially when you are bringing food and items into the cabin. · Limited toiletry, hand soap, trash bags, and paper towels are provided – bring your own stuff as well, especially if you have a large group. We had 11 people during our four-night rental. · The garbage dumpster was full upon arrival –the dumpster gets cleaned out twice a month. If the dumpster is full, you leave trash on the side of the dumpster. Laundry detergent is not provided. Well water has a strong pungent iron smell – bring water to cook with, if this will bother you. •Not a lot of outside/space area for kids to play around – apart from deck area. •Deck area was full of debris upon our arrival – many spider webs everywhere which we cleaned out. Many twigs, leaves and branches, which we cleared out. •There was a bee’s nest behind the grill, which we were unaware, and one of our family members got stung. Grill outside seems greasy and dirty so we used it once only. The gazebo was not clean, so we did not get to enjoy it and/or use it during our stay. Some areas of the carpet in the lower level of the cabin was drenched with water when we arrived.

Loved the lakes!

Great stay overall! We loved the option of exploring both lakes and our son caught fish at both locations. We did lots of swimming and kayaking in the big lake and the water was warm. Beautiful deck and fire pit area too. Although the mosquiitos were thick outside once we started the fire at night they didn't both us and we were able to enjoy smores and campfire time. Just a heads up there is a decent amount of walking to both lakes, including steps and slopes. Overall a great house and location!

Highly Recommend

A great range of activities, both indoors and outdoors. The secluded private lake was especially enjoyable for fishing and wildlife viewing. It felt like we were at a remote Canadian lake. The kids enjoyed fishing, swimming, and kayaking in Lake Chetac. Very comfortable beds and spacious layout. Good all-around vacation spot that reminded me of my childhood trips up north.

Family time

The house was very clean and fully stocked. We were very impressed with everything that was included with the rental. It was a long walk to both of the lakes, but once we got there it was great. It was a good house for a large group, plenty of beds as well as extra bedding. The basement did get cool , even with the air off, but we just added another blanket at night!

Family Time

Overall, it worked well for our family. We loved the huge kitchen table. This was one of the few times our family gathering (11 people) could accommodate everyone at one time to eat and play games. We enjoyed the variety of games in the basement (air hockey, ping-pong, etc). We didn't realize that there isn't any beach access by either of the docks, so our kids didn't want to swim where they couldn't easily touch. Fishing off the dock on the big lake was fruitful. Although it was a bit tricky to get the canoes and kayaks down to the waterfront and back up on the racks, we did enjoy paddling around.

Great getaway

It was a perfect vacation in the woods for 10 of us. Beautiful house with everything we needed for worries free getaway. Very clean! Kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Comfortable beds for rest , great living room , big kitchen to hang out . We were watching amazing sunset on the deck with beautiful view of the nature.Spending time by the fire singing and playing guitars( be prepare for mosquitoes). We enjoyed very much spending time on the water- swimming, kayaking, fishing . The check in and out were easy. Thank you ,Jon ,for been such a good host , responding quickly, and made our stay relaxing and memorable . We definitely would like to come again!!

Quiet Woodland Getaway

We came here for our girls weekend, and really enjoyed ourselves. The deck had a great overlook of the woods and the gazebo was a nice getaway from the mosquitoes. It was on and off raining all weekend and there were plenty of board games to play. We also went river tubing (Jack’s Canoe Rental 40 minute drive) and had a great time. The big lake was clean and refreshing to swim in. Something to be aware of though, if you have mobility difficulties, neither the big lake or the little lake will be accessible to you. The big lake has a dock with a ladder, but the shore is not a walkout and the little lake’s path would be too difficult. The host was kind and communicated quickly.

Great Weekend Getaway!

We had a wonderful time at this property with lots of things to do inside and outside. We had a lot of rain so it was nice to use the ping pong table and playing board games. With a mobile baby it was very child-friendly too. We would definitely stay again!

We love the outdoors and originally purchased this cabin with the idea we would only fix it up and sell it. We ended up selling our other cabin as we loved this one so much. I don't think we could ever sell it.
