This cozy cottage is refreshingly rustic and homey and tastefully decorated, not all re-done with new materials and gussied up with cute stuff. It’s located in a real neighborhood away from the busy main road – no street noise and very little traffic. The house is small but the big screen porch really enlarges the usable space. The large back yard has beautiful shade trees and extends far back so there are no neighbors behind the house.
The kitchen is well-stocked with pots and pans and all the cooking utensils anyone would need. The beds are firm and super-comfortable; one mattress is extremely firm. The many pillows have different levels of firmness. The bathroom is nice and updated, with good towels and plenty of them. It’s a small space though and the shower stall is rather cramped, even for an average sized woman. A large person might not be comfortable on the toilet either.
The three window air conditioners kept the house comfortable even though it was pretty hot outside. There’s an abundance of sunlight in the main living area making this a cheery little cottage. The old wood floors give the place great character; the couches and carpets have seen some living.
This cottage is probably not a good choice for someone expecting impeccable cleanliness and new furnishings. But for those of us who don’t mind a few cobwebs in the corners this is a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Be sure to bring your own coffee – I didn’t see any.
