About this property
Waterfront Suite with Mountain & Bay Views
NOTE: The kitchenette is getting remodeled in May. No pictures yet. There will be a new a glass top stove & a 12 in 1 convection oven. This is a small kitchenette & not a chef’s kitchen. If that is what you are looking for, please choose a different location.***This is a gorgeous, newly renovated waterfront suite is steps away from Resurrection Bay and the bike path, that runs along the bay. This bike path will take you to historic downtown Seward and the Alaska Sealife Center or to Seward’s Small Boat Harbor, 10 minutes walking either direction.
We offer a cozy downstairs unit called the “Mt. Marathon Suite” that is attached to the main house. This space is EXTREMELY clean and sleeps 4, with a private entrance. It is located on the backside of the house, facing Mt. Marathon, that includes a yard with a deck, a bbq, and two parking spaces.
The suite will be entirely your space. This lower-level suite is a two-bedroom unit that offers all new furniture throughout with queen size beds in both bedrooms with blackout shades for a good night’s sleep. The views of Mt. Alice from the bedrooms will take your breath away. It also includes a comfortable living area with a "Trundle style" pull-out couch that is perfect for KIDS ONLY, a flat screen Smart TV (no cable) with DVD player, Wi-Fi, a full bath with shower/tub, a SMALL efficiency kitchen that is fully equipped. (NO LAUNDRY on site). This rental sleeps 4 comfortably. $75 extra after 4 people, per night.
The "Trundle couch" is truly recommended for KIDS ONLY! Please request to use the trundle couch when booking for an extra child for an extra charge. ***If you are a party of 4 or less and want to use the Trundle couch, you MUST request in ADVANCE for an extra charge. ($25-)
This suite is located downtown. Take the waterfront to the harbor, shops, Sealife Center, restaurants, post office, library, and much more…
The Community Closet was created for your use. It is to be used for the Mt. Alice and the Mt. Marathon Suites. This is complimentary for your use with a wide range of games, puzzles, & small kitchen appliances, iron, ironing board, fan, bear spray, bug spray, sunscreen... If you decide to use these complementary items, please return for others to use later.
***Please review ALL photos to make sure this is the right fit and size for you. The bedrooms are decent size but the other living spaces are SMALL. Fit 4 comfortably.
***This property IS NOT FOR EVERYONE!! This is a FAMILY home that doesn’t tolerate partying and rude behavior. You will be asked to LEAVE without a refund.
***Only registered guests on property! No overnight guests.
***This suite offers a SMALL efficiency kitchenette that may not be what you are looking for if you are wanting to eat in nightly. Definitely not a chef’s kitchen but the basics are provided.
***Please note that the bathroom is a shower/tub combo that includes a shower curtain. There is also one small step up to get to this area. This is NOT a large bathroom. Please look at photos to make sure this is the right space for you.
***There is NO LAUNDRY ON SITE. There is a laundry mat a few blocks up on 3rd Ave. called Suds and Swirl for your convenience.
***If you are walking around town, you are more than welcome to use the side gate to get to the waterfront and/or house. That is located along the carport side of the house, near the oil tank and trash cans. The black house is NOT my property. That is my neighbor's property. I like my neighbor and I want her to continue to like us. Please show her respect. I would like for my house guests to use the correct gate so that we are not trespassing on private property.
***DO NOT follow your Maps app to get to the Marathon Suite. It will take you to the WRONG PLACE. I will send directions when it gets closer to your arrival.
***The grill is for use and perfect since the kitchenette is so small. There is a charcoal grill and a gas grill for your use. Please clean up after yourself so others don't have to do it for you. Please only cook fish on the grills OUTSIDE and not in the suite. The place is too small and fish odors linger for the next guests. Please be considerate because it is a really unpleasant smell to get rid of.

About the host
Hosted by Kimberlie Fister

I am in constant ahhh... of how beautiful the scenery is in Seward, Alaska. After all these years, I just can’t get enough of the beauty and the friendly community I call home. After college, I left California and moved to Maui, Hawaii. I made my way to Seward, Alaska from Maui in 1995. From there I commuted between Seward and Maui. I loved Alaska so much that I permanently moved to Seward in 2001. Back then you could find me working in any of the many restaurants, bars, or touring company. I have lots of knowledge of the area and willing to help with your travel needs.
I am currently teaching 5th grade in Anchorage, Alaska. I enjoy teaching students to open their minds to new learning and new views of the world. I feel so lucky to have the summers off in Seward and that I get to explore Alaska. I typically spend my summers hiking, biking, camping, boating, barbecuing, and fishing. I try to get out any chance I get when I am not in the garden or not working on the house.
This is truly a place I love and it is my hope that you will love it as much as I do. It has been a dream of mine since 2001 to host nightly rentals in Seward. I am finally making my dreams come true. Thank you for being a part of my dreams and I appreciate each and every guest that comes through the Mt. Alice Waterfront Suites.
