Le Peyrat is is a self catering Villa, ideal for children and adults. A newly converted barn positioned in 2 acres of mature gardens with a private securely fenced heated pool. The property has been extremely tastefully renovated, many of the original features have been maintained and it has all the modern comforts. The property is spacious, there are five well apportioned bedrooms with en suites, a sixth bedroom for the children with changing facilities, cots are available. The living area is centered on a beautiful open minstrel gallery, with a stunning chandelier. There is a large well equipped kitchen and dining area opening onto a terrace with a stream running beneath it, ideal for relaxing. The large lounge living area is light and airy, overlooked by the upstairs gallery, with satellite TV / DVD and a small area for the children to relax and play. French doors open onto a large terrace with a barbecue, overlooking the pool, mature gardens and children's play area with a treehouse table tennis and trampoline. A beautiful shaded seating area with sofas has been added to the garden so parents can relax while watching their children play, or simply enjoy a quiet place to sit and read. Our guests spend most evenings in the this area relaxing. In addition to this there is a boules court, babminton rackets and tennis rackets available. Bikes can be hired locally, all children bikes are free of charge if adult bikes are rented.

Marc also offers wine tasting experiences at the house and Périgord themed cooking courses using local ingredients.

About the host
Hosted by Tracy Walker

I’ve called France my home for 22 years moving here from Yorkshire, England with my husband and 3 month old son. I worked as an accountant in the Uk but decided quality of life was far more important and chose to spend quality time with my family in this idyllic corner of the French countryside. I’ve never looked back and I have been hosting for 17 years and truly enjoy meeting people from around the world helping them to explore this beautiful diverse region of France.
Why they chose this property
To be truly honest it was just by luck, we had enjoyed years of fabulous holidays at our friend’s home in the Provence and always dreamed of moving to France . A friend introduced us to this region and we fell in love with it immediately. Our initial impression was how green the countryside was and its diversity from rolling hills, forests and of course the endless vineyards from Bergerac to Saint Emilion . We loved how central it was for the local towns, city of Bordeaux and even for visits to the beautiful west coast beaches . It was a perfect choice of area for us as a family and it has been such a pleasure sharing Le Peyrat with all the amazing people we have met over the last 17 years.
What makes this property unique
We renovated Le Peyrat with the consideration of multi generational groups travelling. As a parent I was aware that travelling with young children can prove complicated , Le Peyrat caters for all age of children from small children to teenagers. We have lots of toys, games and dressing up clothes for the little ones and area for them to play inside when the weather is hot. Outside after spending time in the pool the garden offers a shaded play area with trampoline and tree house. My theory is if children are happy , safe and occupied , parents and grandparents can relax . There are many quiet areas in the garden making this possible . The house is set up so everyone has their own bathroom. This has proved very popular with my guests , giving everyone their own private space especially if a large group is staying .
One of our most popular attractions for large groups with children has been our chef Marc who can cook at the house if guests would like to relax while their little ones are sleeping . Marc is also going to offer a wine tasting experience and cooking lessons at the house from 2025 onwards.
