House was very clean and comfortable and worked really well for our get together. Outdoors was relaxing and set a great tranquil feeling for a stress releasing weekend. This was just what I was looking for. The owner and the caretaker were fantastic
This is such a special place. Now, in early June, the grounds are glorious: meticulously cared for, and so inviting. The beautiful rhododendrons are in bloom. The herb garden provides fresh herbs for meals. The back porch overlooking the lawn and pond is lovely for hanging out or having a meal. Inside, too, is carefully cared for: it's very clean, kitchen is well-organized and has everything our group of 7 needs. Beds are comfy, and there is plenty of room for our group to gather, either together or separately. We use the upstairs playroom for yoga and the view is spectacular! We have been coming twice a year for several years and it's always a welcoming place. The pictures are accurate, but it's hard to convey the welcoming feeling of the whole house. It looks wonderful, but in-person it's even better!
The classic charm of a New England farmhouse withtons of beautiful snow to enjoy. The caretaker was nearby if needed and texting made communication easy. The host was gracious and generous.
Fantastic stay in this wonderful historic house over the winter holidays. The kitchen and living room are great gathering spots for any family gathering. The gently sloped backyard was a sledding destination, the iced-over pond for skating, and the trails for afternoon walks. A real delight!
Our fifth family winter gathering at this special home was another wonderful memory maker. Sledding in the back yard, a hike across the street up Gove Mountain, jigsaw puzzles on the country kitchen table, family games by the beautiful new wood stove fireplace, downhill skiing at Sunapee Mountain ( half hour away through country roads) , walks along the snowmobile trail to the lake, and the list goes on. For us, spending a week at this rural, spacious, simple, homey relic of the eighteenth century is an experience in itself. The Sirkin owners are great; the caretaker, awesome. Hopefully, we’ll be back again!
This was an amazing rental for our family. It had everything we needed and more. The house is unique, beautiful, and spacious. We will consider this rental for our future family functions.
Once again we had a wonderful stay. House and grounds are lovingly cared for, always with new, thoughtful updates. Kitchen has everything we need to cook for the group of 6. New wood stove is beautiful and will certainly make the house even more welcoming in the winter. We’ve already booked our return!
My family and I have made a yearly tradition of staying at the beautiful Sirkin home. Every year we look forward to spending time around the large yard, as well as cooking and having nice family meals in the kitchen. Definitely a special place to stay and enjoy some quiet time with family.
The property was perfect for our group who enjoys spending the majority of our time outdoors. The entire group was thankful for the "home-like" feel of the property and surrounding area. Everyone really enjoyed their stay.
We had a wonderful time at this big old house. There was room for everyone and the kids had a blast playing in the house and outside. The swimming hole is great for all ages. There's a large lawn for games (or rolling down the hill!) And blueberries were ripe in several bushes in the yard. The house is on a quiet dirt road which is great for walking.
Our group has been staying here, spring and fall, for several years, and it really feels like home each time we return. It's always extremely clean and is always being updated with thoughtful touches. We'll be back!
This historic home is lovingly and constantly cared for. Our group comes twice a year, and there are always thoughtful updates and upgrades. The grounds are beautifully kept, the house is always clean and welcoming. It's perfect for our group of seven: many beds, nooks and crannies for private times, enough bathrooms, and lovely gathering areas in the kitchen and living rooms.New dock this year! No matter what the weather or time of year, we always enjoy our stay at your home.
This was our second second stay at the beautiful Acworth house. It was just perfect for our large family group. We also rented the small apartment over the barn, as we did last time. The property is huge, gorgeous, beautifully landscaped, and has a fabulous swimming pond at the end of the lawn. We enjoyed grilling and hanging out on the large deck, playing games and enjoying drinks on the screened in porch, watching the kids and teens swim for hours. The runners and bikers in our family had a great time on the quiet back roads near the house. We love the antique furnishings. It’s very homey. We’ll be back again for sure.
The lovely historical house was a perfect place for my three generation family reunion of ten. All slept comfortably in the pretty bedrooms and we spent hours on the Twonderful screened porch overlooking the expansive lawn and trees, dining and visiting. The pond was fantastic, cool clean water with depth enough for swimming. We had lots of fun on the fabulous floating Lily Pad of wood. The kitchen was well equipped for group cooking and tables on the porch for group dining. We were especially pleased to have thorough recycling arrangements and the great onsite compost! We were well supplied with swimming toys, croquet on the lawn, and games. The manager was responsive to any need.
Our stay was wonderful. The house gives the feel of walking back in time. It has antique features- from plank doors with latches to a country style kitchen. It is in excellent condition and very clean. It is situated on a seldom travelled dirt road and is very quiet. There is a very large yard that slopes to a pond giving plenty of room for us to enjoy the outdoors.
We had a great week! Perfect location for our large family. Lots of space for everyone and adding the barn was perfect. We enjoyed lots of games and laughs on the screened in porch that was great for our few rainy nights. Floating on the pond was perfect for the warm days. The house was well stocked and we didn't need anything. Thank you for sharing your family home with us.
This lovingly cared-for family home continues to be a favorite for our group. New updates and upgrades (especially in the kitchen) make it even more welcoming. This beautiful old house is fully equipped, has comfortable beds (including new mattresses when they are needed), and is always very, very clean when we arrive. Two downstairs bedrooms make it suitable for those in our group with mobility issues. Caretaker is very prompt and attentive. Have already booked our next visit!
Family again gathered around in this mystical, historical home in a magical setting and enjoyed the place just as much as the first time. The experience doesn’t get old; only the house does. And that’s what we love about it
