Cindy is a terrific host. The property was clean and beautifully maintained. It was very chilly so the fireplace and hot tub were very much appreciated. We stayed for 2 nights and brought in 2026 with great views and a cozy, comfy stay. We had a belated Christmas with our son who met us there, so the Christmas tree was a perfect touch. We are looking forward to coming back this summer with our boat when the water level is back up :)
Cindy was so fast to respond with all questions. Pictures do no justice of how beautiful the lake really is. If you want away from the hustle and bustle, and want to take in the beauty of Douglas lake, while enjoying privacy, this is the place for you. Highly recomend bringing kyaks to explore even further.
Loved the location love the privacy, the cleanliness of the property the host was quick to respond to any of our needs. I will definitely be booking this property. Again, thank you for our vacation and making it very enjoyable.
We enjoyed our vacation at this lake house very much! Our favorite part was swimming in the lake by the house. The water was clean and refreshing. The house had everything we needed. It was the perfect size for 4 people. We were happy we could bring our dog with us. The location of the property was great-close to grocery stores and places to eat, only an hour drive to Gutlinburg and Pigeon Forge, as well as great hiking trails at the Smoky Mountains National Park. We also enjoyed visiting nearby caves called the Forbidden Caverns. We are planning to come back!
Even though we went when the water was low, the leaves changing and the peacefulness of it all was therapeutic. There were more appliances / gadgets here than I have in my own home! Would definitely stay again.
We loved A lake escape. One of the best we’ve stayed at. Clean, well stocked and cozy decor. Screened in porch is a plus.We paddle boarded on the lake every day. The location is amazing. Perfect for our two dogs too.Calm, quiet and fun lake. We used their inflatable rafts at the dock and floated each afternoon. We want to come back again! Close to town for stores and all kinds of food. The stairs to the lake are just extra cardio. Very do-able, my husband is 50 years old and carried our big boards down them every day. Such a great time!
We had a wonderful week at this rental. The house was great, but the best part was the location. Walking down the steps to be right on the water. It felt very private, which we love.

We had a great time at The Lake Escape! We spent half the time just hanging out and fishing/ hot tubbing and the other half doing the touristy thing in town! :)

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope you can visit us again!
Cabin was decorated nicely and updated except for the kitchen. Road to get there made isolation easy! Lake was way down but would make a great summer place when water is back up.

Thank you for 5 stars. Just wondering what is not updates in the kitchen? The stove, microwave. Refrigerator, sink and counter top are new. You are correct about the water level also, per the listing, the cabin is in a cove and does not have water in front from Nov-Apr.
Loved the cabin and the dock. Everything was clean. The screened in porch was great. But be aware that if you bring a boat, it’s almost impossible to turn around. Need to leave boat and trailer wherever you’re planning to launch your boat!

Ok but could use some upgrades
We stayed here with some friends and the cabin was just big enough for the four of us. It was a little difficult to get in and out of the driveway if you have more than one vehicle. The cabin is on the side of a mountain so everything was very steep. The front yard is very steep and you can’t sit outside in the chairs comfortably. There is also a lot of steps down to the dock which it did show in the pictures but did not mention there were a lot of them. The good advantage was the cabin is dog friendly and was only 45 minutes from Pigeon Forge.
When I rented there were not yet any reviews for this property, so I was apprehensive. There was no need for any worry. The pictures of this cabin online do not do it justice. Super clean, newly remodeled bathroom, and the outdoor area cannot be beat. I might recommend a few more kitchen essentials, but the private dock, hot tub, and tons of outdoor seating more than make up for not having a cutting board.
