Nestled to the North of Aviemore, yet conveniently close to all amenities, Tigh na Lochan presents a contemporary and well-furnished three-bedroom detached bungalow for self-catering stays. Enclosed by its private gardens, this property features two double bedrooms, including a master with an ensuite boasting a walk-in shower, as well as a triple bedroom, a spacious lounge, and a separate dining room.

Our self-catering packages include essential amenities such as linen, towels, gas, and electricity. Additionally, we provide hairdryers, ironing facilities, a high chair, and a travel cot (cot linen not provided). Complimentary offerings include high-speed broadband, Sky TV Entertainment, and a Disney+ package. The residence is equipped with efficient gas central heating with thermostatic control.

For environmentally conscious guests, an Electric Car (EV) charging point is at your disposal (usage charges apply).

A great base for a family holiday. Well located property within easy walk of centre of Aviemore and quickly out onto the A9 to travel around the Highlands. The property was well equipped and made for a lovely place to come back to each evening.

Pre-Christmas getaway

A great house for our family trip. Our 3 year old (and the rest of us) were delighted to find a decorated Christmas tree on our arrival. This was one of the best set-up houses we have rented on our holiday. Slightly further from the centre of town than we would have liked - but this was really only an issue as we had a pram (the paved footpath doesn't extend all the way out from town).

Beautifully Appointed Property

Apart from an initial problem gaining access to the property (the problem lay with Vrbo) everything else about this property was as expected. Clean, well appointed, spacious living areas, second and third bedrooms slightly small. Plenty of crockery and utensils in kitchen. pleasant sitting areas outside. quiet neighbourhood and a shop close by. Would definitely use again if in Aviemore

Beautifuf, clean and silent cottage

We enjoyed our vacation in the cottage, which is a walk of 15-20 Minutes away from the centre of Aviemore. There is also a busstop nearby. It is very clean, cosy and silent. Everything was exactly as it was described. The owner was very helpful and answered all question very fast an kindly. The space in the cupboards is very spacious, so we could put away all of our clothes and had not to leave anything in the suitcases. The two bathrooms are big enough and the water is always warm. The beds and the couch are very comfortable. In the kitchen we found everything we needed to cook our own meals. The cleanliness was remarkably great. So just commendation and no complaints. Thank you again.

Das Ferienhaus ist sehr ruhig gelegen am nördlichen Rand von Aviemore. Es ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und super sauber. Drei Schlafzimmer mit insg. sieben Betten und zwei Badezimmer bieten auch größeren Familien reichlich Platz. Die Küche ist maschinell gut ausgestattet, es fehlt aber eine Kaffeemaschine für Filterkaffee (ist dort irgendwie nicht üblich). Besteck ist nicht reichlich und die Pfannen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Eine Küchen-Grundausstattung wie Schneebesen, Pfannenwender, Küchenmesser, eine gute Pfanne und ev. etwas Besteck könnte man gut mitnehmen. Im großen Sofa im Wohnzimmer versinkt man förmlich. Ein etwas höheres, härteres hätte uns besser gefallen. Insgesamt ein tolles Ferienhaus für schöne Urlaube in den Highlands. Achtung Wanderer: in den Bergen stürzen sich Wolken von winzigen 1-2mm großen Mücken „Midges“ auf einen. Die kannten wir vorher nicht! Da hilft nur Flucht oder dichte Mückennetze!

Just what we needed!

After lockdown it was so nice to back near the mountains and on our bikes again. Property was extremely clean and tidy with clear instructions on how to use everything easily available. Lovely quiet location. Great wee shed to store the bikes too. Despite the rain we had a lovely relaxing time here.

Great place to stay in aviemore

Great accommodation for a weeks visit to Aviemore. Well equipped kitchen for cooking from home and good and plentiful selection of toys and books to keep kids entertained. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again in the future.

Very nice

Very nice. Clean and well equiped. Plenty of hot water and a very good shower. The only things we lacked were a knife sharpener, a shaving mirror and light and either blinds or net curtains on the bedroom winows. However these are small things and did not detract from our stay. We would certainly stay there again.

Lovely cottage in good position for exploring the highlands. Cottage well equipped and a comfortable place to stay in. It would have been good to have had another shower, but otherwise no complaints.

lovely holiday home

Had planned to bring my parents but they couldn't come in the end so I had the place to myself. Lovely holiday home, ideal and had just about everything you could need. My only concern was that this place could take 6+ adults/people, but only has one shower, in the en-suite. Not sure how that would work with more than 2 or 3 adults. There is a hand-held shower head in the bathroom, but nowhere to anchor it at any height and no screen/shower curtain, so really couldn't be used as a shower. If I had brought my parents, the place would have been ideal, but I would have been tramping through their bedroom every morning for a shower.

Thank you for your positive review and also your feedback. I have given some thought to your comments regarding the lack of additional shower in the bathroom and plans are now in place to fully re-tile around the bath, wall mount the shower on a riser rail and install a bath/ shower screen, this will provide a second shower at the property.
