Solar Powered with Massive Timber Framed Great Room. The Meadows
In the middle of our heavily wooded 19 acres is a beautiful 4-acre meadow full of wildlife.
Nestled in field among some trees is a ranch-style home with a twist or two that accommodates 20 guests. The Meadows is for your really big getaway.
Bedrooms are upstairs and downstairs, along with 3 1/2 baths, an extra large hot tub, and all kinds of amenities. Weddings, Family Reunions, Events… Oh My!
With a combination of lots of comfortable room and the quiet scenic grounds, couples that are looking for something better for their wedding can stop surfing.
Both the ceremony and reception can be had at The Meadows House. And there’s enough room for the whole wedding party to stay.
Friends and family at weddings or other functions ofter stay in the cabins that are a short walk away from The Meadows. Many couples like the fact that their friends and family can stay at the same location of the wedding itself.
It seems that some if not all of the guests take advantage of the occasion by spending some vacation time visiting the New River Gorge National Park. There’s so much to do, it’s easy to make a week’s worth of wedding celebration instead of just a quick weekend.
We host various group activities. We do not host parties. CSI incorporated recently held their corporate retreat here. They were thinking out of the box. We are home to the New River Birding and Nature Festival. Several Churches have annual retreats here. Quilting bees, Bird Banding Class, Board meetings,

Soak in the hot tub in the covered gazebo. Do nothing, and feel great about it. You’ll love this vacation home away from home.

Our stay was great! Home was stocked with all of the basic essentials and was very clean! It's a great place for a large group. The property is very private but is close to all of the attractions, town and stores. We would definitely stay here again!
We loved The Meadows cabin and its ease of access to the New River Gorge. Perfect place to spend the day or evening with friends or get to hikes, rafting, and Fayetteville. Owners were easily accessible if needed and welcoming!
The host was very communicative and made us feel very welcome. The property itself was very clean and well set up. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if back in WV! Great proximity to local rafting spots.
We stayed at this house for Thanksgiving 2023 along with our friends from PA. Everyone had a wonderful time and the two ovens came in handy. The large great room provided more than enough space for playing games together and feeding a crew of 12 adults and children.
We would definitely stay here again! Located very close to New River National Park also.
Great place, perfect for our group of 3 famlies,12 people, and 2 dogs. Less than 10 minutes from several white water rafting outfiters. When we weren't on the river there was plenty of space to spread out and relax. The great room was a perfect gathering place. Highly recommended.
We 12 were of two generations: 35-47 and 65-75 year olds. Really nice house with large gathering space. Well equipped kitchen and good sleeping quarters. Location is wooded with other cabins in the circle but not seen from the house. Spiral staircase was doable and you can avoid it by using the 2 ground floor doors to access to the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. New River Gorge area is so pretty! We had a great time!
This cabin provided a nice base of operations for me and my friend's adventures in the New River Gorge. The area's overlooks, rafting, and hiking trails were awesome and only short drives away. The cabin was great and had plenty of space for our group of 10. The 2 grills and 2 ovens came in handy with cooking large meals. There was a bit of a musty smell when checking in, but after emptying the dehumidifiers that went away. The cabin and the surrounding area was very serene. We would stay here again.
We had a wide range of kids and grandkids gathered together. The large great room, hot tub, and secluded meadow allowed for everyone to be comfortable and find places to enjoy a variety of activities. We appreciated its convenience to Summersville Lake and the Fayetteville area. The home was very clean and kitchen well equipped. The spiral staircase is a bit awkward but fortunately wasn’t a big obstacle for our group.

If I may ask what could we do to get that 1 star review to a 5 star review?
Geoff and his staff were amazing hosts. Delicious cookies on arrival. Property was clean, well cared for, well supplied for almost all our needs and many of our additional whims as well! Extremely quick and helpful responses to communications and gave helpful advice. Rapidly addressed our requests for a few minor additional kitchen utensils. Two oven /stove units and plenty of refridgerater space for our crew of 10 adults. Immediately brought extra towels upon request and exchanged towels daily. Worth going out of your way to stay here.
The Meadows was everything we expected and so much more. So much attention to detail to make sure our stay was perfect.
From having plenty of towels, spacious rooms, every cooking utensil we needed in the kitchen, porch full of rocking chairs to the wonderful hot tub and fire pit....this was a great experience. And the great room was perfect for our large family to share meals, play games and just hang out. Close to great hiking and breathtaking views! We will definitely stay at this location again in the summer when we can take full advantage of summer outdoor activities!!
The house was a perfect space for our 15 people. There were multiple private rooms as well as a large bunk room. The outside fire pit was a huge hit with our group. The large great room was perfect for all of us gathering around a large table to play a game together and eat meals. The out side porch was an amazing space in the morning to drink coffee outside in rocking chairs looking at nature. I enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated the effort to sanitize by replacing the water between renters. The only thing I think the house needs is another refrigerator. It has two stoves which is super nice but with a house that accommodates 20 people one SMALL sized refrigerator and one tiny dorm size refrigerator was definitely not enough. With 20 people, there are lots of drinks and food. We had to use all our individual coolers with ice. Other than that, it exceeded my expectations and we will look to rent the same property next year.
The cabin is just awesome with plenty of space and seating, with ingenious floorplans/bed spacing. It's also very clean and well kept. Enough towels always seems to be an inconvenience at other rentals, but the fact this spot had an abundance of towels shows that they are a very cognizant and accommodating host. Additionally, the host is very responsive and easy to communicate with. I had no issues but was confident the host would work with me if anything did happen to come up. They even leave fresh cookies for guests!! Thank you!
We expected our stay to be good and it ended to be Excellent. Loved the location and the specially the home. Only suggestion would be to add some outdoor lighting.
We had 5 fathers and 6 sons on this trip. The bunk room was perfect for the boys and each father had a queen size bed. The house was clean and had all amenities needed. Hot tub was clean and there was room on the grounds for a wiffleball game. We also enjoyed the cookies and complimentary coffee mug. Great stay.
Lots of space for a group! Plenty of bathrooms and seats to share a meal. Kitchen has everything needed to prepare a large meal. Owner very accommodating.
Our youngest daughter got married at Adventures on the Gorge and this worked great for our family & friends staying with us. We ziplined and rafted the lower New River. A pleasant surprise we’re the resident porch bats keeping the bugs at bay. Bats in our area of north-central WV we’re decimated several years ago due to white-nose fungus.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The homemade cookies were a really nice touch. The owners are very responsive and helpful. It was also nice that is dog friendly.
The house was great for a large group. Inside was clean and plenty of room. The hot tub was great after a long day of rafting.
The outside could use some tender, loving care. The landscaping was a bit overgrown.
Property was as advertised. Great location near everything in Fayetteville. Beds comfortable, property clean, and owners made us cookies which were fantastic. Wifi worked well.
For a large group, you can't go wrong. Only complaint was that the hot tub motor was a bit loud.
