Great location. Property is fine but worn. The most concerning part was that someone entered the property while we were out and ate our food. Later that night when we were in, the owner (who stayed in the garage while we were there) burst through the front door and seemed confused we were there. Had strange communications before and during stay.

Top North Shore Location!

Every one of the 6 mornings we woke here we absolutely reveled in the stunning waves that greeted us. You are literally on the sand! The owner was very kind and helpful, and they'd just weathered a massive storm just before our arrival, so we have to cut them some slack on the cleanliness part. This place is walking distance to pipeline, and we got to see a couple days of the WSL contest. Super cool! Very authentic local living.

Beach front stay

Incredible location, right on the beach we set up a volleyball net. Surf boards, a few bikes, nice neighborhood. Good for adventurous travelers looking to spend time outside. Interior could use a little TLC for for a group of friends spending long days at the beach it was perfect.

The location of the house is amazing. The owner and his crew are very nice and helpful. The house needs some maintenance … the jacuzzi was not working during our stay and it was very disappointed for the kids. Overall we had a great time.

Fabulous Location on the beach

We had a lovely relaxing week staying here literally right on one of the most beautiful and iconic surfing beaches! We have travelled extensively and highly rate this unique and hard to find location! We loved watching the surfers, going for beach walks and watching the sunsets/rises! Going to sleep listening to the waves is a real treat! A real central location on the laidback surfy North Shore, close drive to the historic town of Haleiwa, quick drive to numerous food truck locations, more fabulous beaches/bays, numerous tourist activities and a short two minute walk to the main road for an Acai bowl or smoothie at the sunset shack or banzai bowls! The accomodation is basic but more than adequate + comfortable as the location itself is the real gem here and well worth it I promise! The hosts are welcoming, friendly and happy to go above and beyond for their guests! Thankyou for an enjoyable stay and best wishes from the Kiwis 😁

Pro's:-Beautiful beach access-hot tub was clean and worked correctly-host was accommodating to us having people over and parking Cons:-property VERY dirty (opened food bags in pantries, cockroach and termite poop everywhere, strong smell of weed in kitchen drawer. Dog hair all over the floor. Used cigarette buds around the house, cigarette burn marks on coach, bathroom and kitchen drawers dirty, Etc )-Personal belongings left in house - Personal mail, trophy, bedrooms used for storage of random things like lamp stands, extra furniture etc)-Bathroom smells like sewer (wet seal needs replacement?)-had issues with the booking on vrbo that took way too long to fix. Seemed sketchy, eventually worked out when i refused to pay on the side without vrbo, but I had others tell me they had similar experiences with the same property.-property manager informed me that the rooftop balcony would be ready to use and enjoy for our wedding celebrations/pictures. When we got there it was not. It had a very weird tent set up on the rooftop balcony with random couches, a mattress i think and massage chairs set out?-hot tub was advertised to me as a 16 person hot tub. When we got there it was clearly a 8 person hot tub with 8 seats. Could only fit 16 very small people all standing in the hot tub. Was not worth over 1,000 per night. for paying that much it should be clean.

Left Early- Not what we expected

All in all this was an upleasant stay for my family and I.Issues:1. terrible smell coming from the bathroom- we left 2 days early because it got so bad. Owner and property manager promised to reimburse us for those nights and never did. 2. Owner was unprofessional- living upstairs during part of our stay, and in the garage for another portion, when upstairs was being rented. Would use shared outdoor shower that was right outside our door. 3. Property in general was not as shown in photos- cockroaches, dirty, in disrepair (house had a tarp over top part of roof). Positives:1. Wonderful location on the beach- near sunset beach and right down the street from town. 2. Owner and property manager were friendly and responsive. Overall, this is a wonderful location. However, the house needs major repairs, and we were very unhappy about the way the owner handled the issues that occurred.

Beautiful view, warm host, issues with pests

I really hate to give a negative review because the owner and his family were very sweet and helpful, but I must be honest. The house is right on the beach as advertised, unfortunately most of the beach has washed away so there really wasn't a lot of space to sit as a family and enjoy the ocean. Upon arrival, everything looked clean. However, pulling back the sheets, it was obvious they were not changed in one room, and the pillow cases had blood spots on another. Because there is no air conditioning or screens on the doors and kitchen window, there are cockoroches, mosquitos, and a small mouse that stayed with us as well. The overall experience was bitter sweet. Maybe if the cost was lower and it was just my husband and I, the cleanliness and pests could be overlooked.

Worst experience I've ever had

The host had really poor communication leading-up to our arrival. Once we arrived, we were extremely disappointed on multiple levels and realized that we had been scammed. There were multiple people staying at the site, including people that I did not want my family around. This was not disclosed to us in the listing. The carport which was supposed to be our designated parking spot was cluttered with a broken bed frame, multiple motorcycles, and a bunch of other junk. The tail of our car had to stick out in the road. The on-site manager told us that the next day, the first day of our vacation, a pest control company would be coming into our unit to spray poison; this seemed quite unbelievable to me since that kind of work could be scheduled when the unit was vacant. As we were bringing our things into the unit, I had a lady who was staying at the property approach me to ask me to move my car so that she could close the door to the un-permitted bathroom that opened into the carport. The unit we had rented was cluttered extensively with personal items, including both closets. We found people’s personal toiletries in the bathroom drawer. The smoke detectors were missing. The shower doors would not slide. The view out our bedroom window was another abandoned bed frame that was stacked-up beyond the height of the window. The host only communicated with us once when Vrbo forced her to do so, and she never answered her phone again and never responded to phone calls or texts.

Avoid This Place at All Costs!

Don’t make the same mistake we did–trust the negative reviews on here! Look at unphotoshoped pics on IG of RockyPointVRBO. The house is in terrible condition, this listing is heavily photoshopped. There is no beachfront lanai - Google Earth shows that the lanai was washed away at least a year ago. Now the back door opens to a steep bank with no place to hang out. Some windows were broken like a rock went thru it & the main windows to beach were boarded up. Blinds behind the boards were broken & didn't open. House is Dirty and Unkempt: Stained bed covers, old bath towels in bathroom, & toilet paper hanging from the blinds to cover up holes. Hoarder's Mess throughout outside and inside–every drawer and closet is full of owners stuff, no space for your belongings except floor. Side lanai is covered in junk, making it unusable for you to hang out. Leftover food/dishes are all over the place. Hottub doesn’t work. The house feels as if the owner just woke up, made the beds, & moved into his shed attached to the side of house outside your bedroom window (where he lives when guests are in his house). There is a man that lives in the garage & shares the property and outdoor shower with you. The host was unresponsive, we waited hours to get in and never heard from her again during our 7-day stay. After all this, you won’t get any sort of refund from host, owner or VRBO. We regret booking this dilapidated house, this place isn't worth any price. review limited to 1500 characters

Wake Oceanfront Review

We don’t want this to negatively impact the hosts, because they were very kind, but we feel obligated to give a truthful review. The only check in instruction we received was the address, nothing about how to get into the property once there. They were unreachable our night of check in even though they had told us to call them when we were 10 minutes away so they could help us check in. We had a late check in of midnight, the property’s lights were off upon arrival, the front door was unlocked, the French doors and all the windows were wide open. After walking into the property a lady walked in behind us and introduced herself as the cleaning lady but seemed unaware of who we were and that we had rented the space. She was visibly inebriated, had trouble standing and proceeded to ask us how much we spent on our rental and then told us personal drama about the hosts. After she left we could hear her outside rummaging around. The next morning we left with all our belongings with the intention of finding other accommodations, VRBO would not refund us however. So we spoke with the hosts about our concerns. They were very kind and tried to accommodate. The unit itself is not what is represented in the pictures. I think the pictures are several years old. The sand has washed away the back yard and there is no longer a lounge area directly behind the property, there are two hot tubs that are broken. There is no AC in the unit and every night we had cockroach visitors.

Awful Place - Buyer Beware

This property is listed incorrectly as a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and it is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom. We rented based on that is it was not that when we arrived. Also, the address listed is incorrect. The address listed is two doors down from the actual rental property. When we arrived the owner was not available to meet us as he said he would. He didn’t respond to texts or phone calls. We left to go grocery shopping and returned an hour later and still no response. My husband parked (at the incorrect property due to incorrect listing) and went around to see if he could find the owner or the key to get in. He found the owner nextdoor with his friends and a sorry excuse for an apology for why he didn’t meet us when we arrived the first time. As we are finally going into the house l first notice the lack of 2nd bathroom and then that the place is filthy. It is questionable if it is up to code and if it is a legal rental. I told the owner and pulled up the listing that we rented based on a 2 bathroom flat. He said he needed to change the listing and he thought that the people in the flat above were leaving the next day and we could move up there. Seeing the squalor of the flat we were renting I was not going to allow my kids to sleep in such a dump and figured the bigger flat (3 bed, 3 bath) above was in the same condition. The offer of the flat above the one we rented was not enough to keep us there having been lied to already. We decided to leave to stay somewhere else and texted (that was how we had been communicating with him) that the flat was not what we had rented and have heard nothing from the owner. We are going through VRBO for a full refund. This listing should be removed so others aren’t duped as we were.

Fourth of July get away

It served our purpose for the weekend. Perfect access to the beach, picnic tables right outside of the house to enjoy our meals while watching the beautiful sunrise/sunset. The outdoor shower was very handy. The use of the surfboards was a plus

Fantastic Northshore beach house

We had a fabulous stay in this beach condo. The views were amazing and a surfers paradise. Watching the sunset from inside or outside was a treat. Great location to tour the island and food trucks galore. Jeanare was fantastic and we will return!
