We had the loveliest time in Pupukea, the accommodation was just as described, it was spacious, serene, and a wonderful place to spend time playing games, cooking, and relaxing with family.
House was perfect and the location amazing. The host was very nice and accommodating. Very clear instructions and provided local information. Lots of beach toys to use and lovely pool.
We absolutely loved our stay - the property was well kept, clean, and had everything we could possibly need. Our 5YO granddaughter repeatedly asked if we could stay there forever! Loved the pool and the sunsets were spectacular. Highly recommend! Alix was a joy as our host!
This house is so much more than what the pictures show. This house is so spacious and beautiful. Alix was an amazing host, greeted us when we arrived and very prompt with any questions we had. I would recommend any family wanting to stay in the north shore to stay here.
This property is a beautiful house and was a great fit for our trip. Owner is responsive and helpful, she went above and beyond to help us. The house is without air conditioning - so if you’re used to a cold house you need to be aware that you might have some warm days depending on time of year.
Absolutely beautiful home! Views of the Ocean, beautifully landscaped property, quite, private and overall wonderful place to stay. Alix was very attentive and was helpful with any questions we had during our stay. The house was just as it was pictured. Large enough for everyone to have their own bedroom. We never felt cramped. Large patio area's to be outside and the private pool was a huge bonus with kids. Highly recommend this vacation spot. We are planning a return visit already.
Hale Luana was even better than the photos! The layout of the home was perfect for our large group (9 adults), and everyone was very comfortable in their accommodations. We utilized the pool daily, and fell in love with the north shore of Oahu! The home was very well equipped for cooking, but we ate at North Shore Fish Tacos (food trucks at the bottom of the hill) more than once! The host, Alix, could not have been sweeter! Thank you Hale Luana, can’t wait to come back!
This house is amazing- so beautiful and well cared for! The pool is the perfect temperature, everything about it was perfect and made for the most magical Hawaii experience I could hope for! The location is amazing- down the street from Foodland and the food trucks, short drive to Waimea Bay. Plenty of food, beach, and hiking very nearby but also for those who are feeling like taking it easy the pool and house are also great to relax in. Alix was super accommodating and gracious as well- all in all amazing experience!! Couldn't have asked for more
The pictures do not convey the real beauty and uniqueness of this home and beautifully landscaped yard. The 5 bedrooms comfortably accommodated the 10 in our family. Pupukea is just where we wanted to be on the North Shore. The gated home is in a quiet residential area and was the perfect place to wake up to the birds and sunrise. The home was equipped with everything we needed to get started and enjoy our stay. We would love to return!
We stayed at the house for a week with 10 extended family members - grand parent, two couples and five tween/teen kids - and had a fantastic stay. We loved the sounds of birdsong at dawn, the relaxing views of the lush vegetation and ocean from the property. The house was a nice size for our group, plenty of options to gather together and also to be apart. Kitchen had everything we needed for making meals. Lots of spaces to relax outside, and of course the pool was great. Alix was very accommodating when we had questions, and also provided all kinds of beach paraphernalia for our trips elsewhere. Would love to come back.
The house is very spacious and Alix was very helpful and accommodating. We had seven people, including two teens, and there was plenty of room to not get in each others way. Although the downstairs bedroom is the only one with AC, the louvred windows kept the house at a great temperature with the trade breezes. The pool is also kept at a comfortable temperature and there is plenty of outdoor space. It's a great home. The local Foodland is a five minute drive away.
We had a most wonderful stay at this extremely beautiful home in Pupukea, Oahu. Our host, Alix was wonderful and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. Our family gathering included 5 adults and 5 young children. There were ideal accommodations for each one of us. The property was landscaped beautifully. We loved the pool, which had just been cleaned and obviously was very well maintained. We spent many enjoyable hours at the pool! The property was quiet with nice privacy. The nearby communities included a grocery store, many food trucks, a very nice bike path along the beach and all the things you look for on a vacation in paradise. We hated to leave after 9 days and hope to return soon. Thank you, Alix for your hospitality!
We were a large group with age range from 11 to 78 and this beautiful home could not have been more ideal for us. Large, multiple family rooms, lush tropical outdoor living areas with everything you will need. Our favorite beaches and snorkeling spots just a few minute drive. And it was so lovely returning to the home after a day at the beach to a warm relaxing pool. Just the best!! Alix met us at check in and gave us a quick run down on the house. Easy check in and out process. We so enjoyed our cocktails on the patio each evening with entertainment from the occasional roosters and chickens passing through the yard. Beautiful birds too. We all agreed we would rate this home 10/10. Hope to make a return trip in the future . It truly felt like home.🌴💙
The property was excellent. My only (and significant, in my opinion) complaint is that there was no air conditioning. The listing states that there is A/C, however the only A/C is in the small bedroom downstairs and is a window unit for that room only. I felt mislead by that, as the house was humid, and my children had trouble sleeping because of the heat. Other than that, the house is in an excellent location, is clean and very well kept, and is gorgeous! Lots of space for my party.
The house is gorgeous and well stocked with everything our family needed for our stay and then some. There are beach towels for the pool and trips to the beach, also chairs, mats, body boards and coolers should you make the trip to beach! The kitchen is well stocked with all the appliances we needed to cook some meals at home (crockpot, rice cooker, pots and pans, etc). Alix (the host) was so thoughtful and easy to communicate with. Our stay was over the holidays and she provided some holiday decorations to make it feel more cheerful and even baked some homemade cookies for us upon arrival. The heated pool was wonderful and the house had plenty of space for my whole family. I will note that the full house doesn't have AC as I originally thought from the listing, only one bedroom on the main floor has a window unit, but we found that the doors can be opened to the screens in the living/dining spaces and every room has a fan to circulate the air. I also know some of my group had some issues with the roosters crowing super early in the morning, but that truly can't be helped - I recommend bringing earplugs if you have any light sleepers. Beyond that this stay was truly wonderful - a private oasis for our holiday stay!
We stayed for at Hale Hula for 7 days. As you drive up the windy road you will be amazed when you enter this property. The landscape is tropical and very well maintained.
The house itself including the pool is very clean and large. We had 6 adults and kids ranging from 6-14 years old. We had more then enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably and run around, swim and lounge throughout the week.
The kitchen has everything you need, including a BBQ outside.
There were basic condiments for the fridge which was a nice surprise. There's a Foodland at the bottom of the hill (which you would not be able to safely walk, about a 3-5 min drive) which was very convenient.
Alix was very fast and pleasant to communicate with and met us with the Aloha spirit.
The only minor downsides, if you want to call it that you may want to be aware are that there is a starting amount of paper towels and toilet paper (you will need to supply your own if you run out). Also, she askes that you not be outside past 9pm to be respectful of the neighbors. We adjusted fine to that request, would be good to know in advance.
We would return to this property in a heart beat and hope we can make it back soon!
Thanks Alix!!
This property was great for our family Christmas. There were 2 separate living spaces and a large kitchen for spreading out. Alix decorated the main living areas and out front with Christmas lights and cute decorations and poinsettias which made it festive. She was always available to help with a question or problem. And there were several blue-tooth speakers available for music at the pool.
Overall, the description of the property is accurate with lovely, comfortable furnishings, and we had everything we needed for our stay, with one exception: to include "A/C" in the amenities is a bit of an overstatement, however. As mentioned by another vacationer in an earlier review, there is only a small window unit in one bedroom. But, Alix does supply many, many floor fans and every room has a ceiling fan. I suspect it was unseasonably warm when we were there and the bedrooms on the second floor have east-west exposures so they got rather warm in the afternoon. The fans help keep the air moving.
The views of the ocean and mountain range were serene and the sunsets (and moonsets) were great. Feral chickens and roosters run rampant on the Islands and this neighborhood is no exception. While, during the day the group had fun counting all the birds we ran into, the resident fowl were in a different time zone commenced their serenades at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning.
We all felt safe and the neighborhood was quiet. The grocery store was very convenient for quick trips and the beaches were close-by. The pool was a great gathering spot for the family late afternoon, before the evening activities began. AND, my daughter-in-law was thrilled with the air-fryer, (which is her go-to appliance these days), and using it when possible helped to keep the kitchen from overheating with oven use.
This is such a gorgeous house and property, somehow even better than the photos! Alix has thought of virtually every comfort that you could need, from cookware and dishes to beach gear. It was quiet and Alix was great about answering any questions we had.
