Great property - great owners

Received multiple communications from the Lister, including a call the day we arrived making sure everything we needed was there, if we had questions, and if we were comfortable. The house is lovely, spacious, and clean. Nearly anything you want is available at the cabin already, and the location is amazing. I imagine staying I the summer would be even more amazing.

Quiet outdoor escape

First, I need to say that Dennis & Margie Anderson are phenomenal hosts. They were a huge help when it came to finding other activities to do in the area. They responded to my questions quickly and were very professional, it made our trip all the more stress-free. The cabin was amazing, great location and great environment, if you love to see the sun rising through the trees this is the place for you. The cabin was very clean and had many amenities. Exceptional stay

Had the best ever experience at this property. The hosts gave clear instructions, communicated with us on a daily basis. The house has a very well stocked kitchen, rooms were very comfortable and the outdoor deck is large with multiple areas for sun or shade. Highly recommend this property

Dodge Ridge ski weekend

Stayed at property with my family and another family for a ski weekend at Dodge Ridge. There was a welcome basket with lots of goodies and the cabin was clean and comfortable. We had plenty of room for both families.

Great property!

We really enjoyed this home. Beautifully updated, kitchen well stocked, plenty of space for us. It’s a 3 bedroom home, not 6 bedrooms, but we used the air mattress (huge!) and pull out couch. Welcome basket was a nice surprise. Host was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Will definitely rent again!

Lovely cabin and great host

We booked the cabin for the family getaway after new year. It was a wonderful stay there. Check in was easy. House was very nice and super clean. We were surprised by the welcome gifts. Kids loved the litter bears for them. The house had everything that we needed. We totally enjoyed our time there and would like to come back again! The host Dennis was very responsive the whole time. He was very nice. We forgot a toy at the house and he offered us to mail it back. We really appreciate the extra help here! Definitely recommend!

Beautiful Home with Top Notch Care

We loved our stay at this beautiful home near Pinecrest Lake. During our trip, we noticed that one of the airbeds had a leak and was unusable for us. Dennis went above and beyond and delivered a new bed that day. This home was fully stocked with no detail overlooked. Thank you again!

Clean and Spacious!

The Anderson Cabin did not disappoint. The high ceilings and open feeling was such a welcome feeling. The kitchen is awesome with plenty of room for several people prepping and cooking. The bedrooms are all so big and for our family of 10 we all had plenty of room. The host communication was great and they personal touch of a basket with wine and cheese for the adults and little stuffies for the kids was so sweet. We have been coming to Pinecrest Lake for 17 years and this is definitely one of the best places we have stayed.

Lovely place with many special touches

Upon entering, we were super impressed and noticed the sweet welcome basket, 4 small stuffed bear toys, and kind note hand written by the owner welcoming us. These kind of gestures make such an impact on me. The rest of the place was equally as impressive, clean, spacious, and well stocked. The owner was very easy to get a hold of as well. We love love loved it and would recommend it to anyone of any age range.

Long over due relaxation

Enjoyed an awesome quiet relaxed 4 days in this beautiful home, very cozy and spacious. Lots to do up in the area. Hiked Pinecrest lake and did lots of games and puzzles and watched movies. Everyone enjoyed the stay and will highly recommend this cabin to others.

Great house, great location, accommodating and tentative host. Check in/out was a breeze. All instructions on what to expect/ bring were a big help. Great spot for our family vacation .. enjoyed skiing at dodge ridge, ice skating in long barn and exploring pinecrest lake. The property is central to all.. we will return!

Excellent stay for 1-2 families

My wife and I, along with our two friends and their two young children, thoroughly enjoyed very aspect of our stay at this very clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained property. The kitchen was well equipped for many home cooked meals, the living room was huge and comfortable, and the deck along the front was perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. This was easily one of the best vacation rentals in which we've ever stayed.

Nice family space--upstairs/downstairs--warning--VERY "upstairs'"--not for infirm!

It was hot, so the cabin was very warm...but the nice chilled water cooler helped. Lots of yellow jackets--but they are EVERYwhere right now. The hike up to the entry door (25 steep steps) was a little scary with kids and a lot tiring to carry up luggage and groceries, but we were up to the challenge. A few more years, maybe not. The linens were old, but soft...and this cabin was definitely one of the nicer ones in the neighborhood. The master bathroom door didn't really close or lock efficiently, but I already told that to Dennis and I'm sure he'll address it as he was very attentive. Also, def needs a new Keurig, or maybe, don't mention the Keurig, because it doesn't work, even following detailed directions on why it won't work in altitude? My grandkids LOVED the bears and the older kids LOVED the wine and snacks! The firepit was closed due to fire danger, but the chocolate for the s'mores still managed to disappear. Overall, a super nice cabin/house and I absolutely fell in love with Pinecrest Lake and what it had to offer! We were very happy with our stay there and the problems were minor and certainly wouldn't stop me from staying there again (while I can still hike!).

About the host

Growing up as a child, my family would go camping at Pinecrest Lake, Meadow View and the surrounding area. When I grew up, I took my family to the area as well. I fell in love with the Pinecrest area, so much so - that my wife (Margie) and I got married in the garden of the Strawberry Inn, at Strawberry CA., five minutes from the cabin. It was a beautiful wedding. Our life-long dream, was to eventually own a cabin in the area. Our dream came true. In 2019, Margie and I purchased our cabin, the Anderson's Alpine Retreat. We now have the cabin available for other's to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

I'm filling out the Vrbo data information to list this property, and they are asking the following question: "Why This Property" My answer is, why not this property? The Sierra Mountains, are the most beautiful mountain ranges in the country, if not the world. I have driven through the Alps, in Germany, and they don't even compare to the beauty of the Sierra's (as far as I'm concerned). Our cabin is one of the newer cabins in the area, but we have still given it, that rustic feel. The cabin itself is very spacious, over 2,200 square feet.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is far enough away from Hwy 108 that you don't get all of the traffic noise, yet it is close enough to make a quick drive to Pinecrest Lake, Twain Hart, Strawberry, Dodge Ridge, and the local grocery stores. If you stay at our cabin, I might suggest a trip that you will really enjoy: During the spring and summer, you must take a day and drive over Sonora Pass, on Hwy 108. It is such a beautiful drive. Go on in to town of Bridgeport, or visit Bodie, a Ghost Town, near Bridgeport, that has some very interesting buildings.
