About this property

Cozy, newer cabin that is just minutes away from Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge

Overview

Anderson's Alpine Retreat is in the High Sierra Mountains tucked away amongst beautiful pine trees. 5 minutes away from PINECREST LAKE & DODGE RIDGE SKI.
It's 13 minutes away from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. If you love trout fishing, as I do, then my favorite fishing spot is just five minutes away, on the River that runs through Strawberry. You can hike around the neighborhood, and for the more experienced, there are High Sierra trails that you can tackle.
At Anderson’s Alpine Retreat, we strive to make your stay, “picture-perfect”. We start in the kitchen: Your morning cup of coffee is provided, with a Keurig single cup coffee maker. There are coffee pods, packets of sugar and creamer, made available, for that first morning cup. (For the real coffee drinkers, there is a 10-cup electric coffee maker – bring your own coffee). The kitchen can be described as a connoisseur’s kitchen. It is spacious and all the cooking items are available to make a family meal. All the basic spices are in the kitchen. There is a washer and dryer, inside the cabin. Laundry detergent is made available. At night, you’ll slumber on a California King bed, or a Queen size bed. All our beds are made up with 500 count Egyptian Cotton sheets and pillowcases.
Anderson's Alpine Retreat is a very spacious, cozy, and clean cabin - in the Sierra Mountains. (No claustrophobic feeling here). You can relax in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The cabin has a large kitchen that is open to the dining area and living area. The entire family or families can enjoy each other's company - within the three rooms. Watch TV, play games, watch movies. Enjoy the campfire pit, during the summer. Tell ghost stories, or just enjoy roasting marshmallows.
Shampoo and body soap are provided. Liquid dishwashing soap is provided, as well as hand sanitizer. Automatic dishwasher soap is provided. There are enough bath towels so each guest can have two. The bath towels are very soft.
The space
This cabin was designed to sit high up in the trees and to enjoy the wide open, clean spaces in the mountains of the Sierras. There is lots of room outside on the deck. There is a large picnic table with benches on the deck, and a propane BBQ (Propane provided). The cabin itself, is over 2,200 square feet. It is one of the newer cabins in the area. Wi-Fi is also available.
Guest access
You will have your own private entry code. All you’ll need to do, is enter the code on the lock pad, and you’re in the cabin. There is no possibility that you can lock yourself out of the cabin. You will have use and access to the entire cabin. There are only four closets that are for housekeeping and for the owner's personal use.
For our guests, we provide 24/7 contact information so we can personally accommodate you during your stay. We also try to respond within an hour, for any guest inquiring on a stay.
Surveillance or recording devices on property - All surveillance provided is for the protection of our guests and the security of the property. Only outside cameras are on the premises.

Stayed at property with my family and another family for a ski weekend at Dodge Ridge. There was a welcome basket with lots of goodies and the cabin was clean and comfortable. We had plenty of room for both families.

Growing up as a child, my family would go camping at Pinecrest Lake, Meadow View and the surrounding area. When I grew up, I took my family to the area as well. I fell in love with the Pinecrest area, so much so - that my wife (Margie) and I got married in the garden of the Strawberry Inn, at Strawberry CA., five minutes from the cabin. It was a beautiful wedding. Our life-long dream, was to eventually own a cabin in the area. Our dream came true. In 2019, Margie and I purchased our cabin, the Anderson's Alpine Retreat. We now have the cabin available for other's to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

I'm filling out the Vrbo data information to list this property, and they are asking the following question: "Why This Property" My answer is, why not this property? The Sierra Mountains, are the most beautiful mountain ranges in the country, if not the world. I have driven through the Alps, in Germany, and they don't even compare to the beauty of the Sierra's (as far as I'm concerned). Our cabin is one of the newer cabins in the area, but we have still given it, that rustic feel. The cabin itself is very spacious, over 2,200 square feet.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is far enough away from Hwy 108 that you don't get all of the traffic noise, yet it is close enough to make a quick drive to Pinecrest Lake, Twain Hart, Strawberry, Dodge Ridge, and the local grocery stores. If you stay at our cabin, I might suggest a trip that you will really enjoy: During the spring and summer, you must take a day and drive over Sonora Pass, on Hwy 108. It is such a beautiful drive. Go on in to town of Bridgeport, or visit Bodie, a Ghost Town, near Bridgeport, that has some very interesting buildings.
