Relax and recharge in this picturesque wooded setting with a beautiful view of Sacheen Lake. The cabin is decorated beautifully throughout in Native-American motif. Take in the lake view from the wall of windows in the A-frame living room, or from the living-room deck, the lower-level patio, or the dock on the water itself. When the weather is warm, enjoy sunbathing, swimming, or fishing from the dock. Bring your ski-boat, or jet skis (public boat launch nearby), or enjoy using the 3 one-person kayaks included with rental. Sleeps six (6): The master bedroom/loft includes a full-size/queen-size bed, there are 2 twin beds in the main-floor bedroom, and there's a 2-person/double bed/hide-a-bed in the living room. Build a cozy fire in the vintage Imperial Carousel fireplace, make dinner, and enjoy the gorgeous view. The house has 1.5 bathrooms, a shower, a small-but-fully-outfitted kitchen, and a gas grill for barbecuing. Access to the three kayaks and other lake toys is included in the rental price. If you forgot something or want to venture off the property, there is a convenient local store only minutes away. The town of Newport is only a 12-mile drive, and in addition to grocery stores and restaurants, it features antique stores, an ice cream shop and deli, and an engaging local history museum, or you could easily make the 30-minute drive to Sandpoint, ID, for a bigger selection of restaurants and nightlife. There are hiking trails nearby, or perhaps you would rather visit Silverwood Theme Park which is only a 45-minute drive into Idaho. ATTENTION: If you plan to bring toddlers, small children, or anyone prone to unsafe judgments or who might have mobility issues regarding stairs, semi-open deck railing systems, inclined cobblestone walkways that include stair steps, utilizing a built-in loft ladder for access to the loft bedroom, open access to a large water body, fireplace hazards, or related hazards, please contact us before booking so that we can attempt to help accommodate you successfully. We would rather discuss these potential problems upfront and lose a booking than find ourselves in a situation where you feel unsafe upon arrival.

The history of this property, prompt and kind communications with host/manager, and uniqueness and lake location made this lake cabin a "must return to!" place for my family.
perfectly situated with views of the lake this vintage cabin has all the quirky charm you're looking for. This rental is well stocked with everything you need from the kitchen to the lake toys and the new dock.
This is our families second stay, and we had the same great experience as last year. The cabin is perfect for our family of four. Lots of swimming, fishing, and board games at night. I highly recommend this gem of a property to others to experience.
Loved this cabin! It was the perfect fall weekend to just relax, cook and be with my partner. The cabin was so charming and felt very homey. The view and access to the lake and dock were perfect. The hosts were very accommodating and kind. I can't wait to book again next year.
We enjoyed our stay at this quaint cabin! The kids loved the swing and fishing from the dock. Shawn was so helpful and made sure we had all the info we needed.
Such a special property with stunning evening views. My boys loved their time fishing off the dock, swimming endless hours and bbqs in the evening. Lots of fun was had, the owners have a great handbook explaining everything about the property which is very helpful!

We are so glad you had such a nice time at our cabin, Tracy. There's nothing better than hearing from guests that have enjoyed the place as much as we do! Please come back and visit again!
A hidden gem! I was blown away when we arrived and felt like I was in a fairy tale. Such a beautiful location right on the waterfront. You could never take enough photos to capture the experience of staying here. 😍😍😍 Horseback riding with Dessa was phenomenal as well and only a 15-minute drive away! 🐎

So glad you enjoyed your time at our little cabin, Brittany! We feel the same way about the place. :) Thanks for everything! You're welcome back anytime.
We enjoyed a quiet few days at this quaint little cabin on the lake. Very clean and well appointed. We especially appreciated the inclusion of the three kayaks - we caught over a dozen fish in the time we were there, including a large bass. Also nice swimming right from the dock - lake water was clean and quite warm. Turtles and fish abound!
Weather was very hot during our stay but it wasn’t an issue at all. The lower bedroom has a window AC that worked great and upstairs a large fan to keep everyone comfortable.
Every summer I take my 2 daughters on a girls trip. This year my 9 month old granddaughter joined us. We had a great time! Loved the character of this cabin. We went swimming from the private dock and enjoyed the beautiful view from the deck. Wish we could have stayed longer. The owner was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed, including letting me know that they had an extra baby gate “since baby is scooting around” so she couldn’t get close to the fireplace hearth. I would definitely recommend this place. We look forward to visiting again.

So glad you had such a nice time there! You're welcome back any time, Amy! Thanks, again!
We loved this place! Such a cozy atmosphere and was perfect for some decompression time. The hosts were great with communication and we couldn’t ask for a better stay. We are excited to come back in the summer when the lake warms up some more!
This was a great property for our stay. The cabin was easily accessible, lots of stairs though. Everything we could possibly need was provided along with extras, the hosts really went out of their way to provide extra amenities. Would recommend 100%
We had such a great time! The property was wonderful. Our grandchildren had so much fun. The fishing off the dock was terrific. The cabin was everything that we could have wished for and more. Thanks for a perfect vacation.
The property had an amazing location and we loved waking up to see the water every day. The random collection of things hanging all over the walls only seemed to collect dust and detracted from the natural beauty of the cabin. We loved being able to use the kayaks and walk through the neighborhood. I am 6’1” and was unable to fully stand upright when using the shower. This was an inconvenience, but wouldn’t keep me from renting this property again. The cabin is 70 years old in some parts and at least 50 in the main living area. Keep this in mind when comparing it to similar properties. There is a quirky nature about this place. It is very charming overall though. The views are worth the experience.

Hi Lance, we're glad you enjoyed your time at our cabin overall. Just wanted to mention that the previous owners of the cabin (for the last 40 years) were artists. They painstakingly decorated with all manner of Native American artwork throughout the main living area (see pictures). We've chosen to leave most of what they did in place because we personally enjoy the decor and finishes, and feel inspired by them, but we understand some people might be of a similar opinion to yours. To potential renters, please take a few minutes to look closely at the pictures we've provided in this listing to decide if the decor is going to cause you second thoughts about renting. We do dust the artworks and decorations regularly. Regarding the shower. Yes, I agree it's a little short for many. We've looked into replacing it with a larger shower enclosure, and may yet do that when finances and time allow.
This cozy little cabin was perfect for our family of 4. We spent most of our time outside swimming, relaxing on the dock, or playing in the small sandy beach area. No complaints at all!
We came for Father's day weekend and had the best time ever. Such a cozy cabin with everything you could possibly need with the most amazing view. Lots of fun decorations and art. We had a blast and made some awesome memories. We hope to come back again!
I forgot to bring seasonings and firewood. I was pleasantly surprised how well it was prepared for all of our needs. I wish weather was favorable to use the kayaks but the sun rise and sun set on the lake was enjoyable to.
Just what we needed to relax and reconnect with nature. Amazing to sit back and enjoy view of lake from inside cabin, the deck and private dock. Very much appreciated the use of owners kayaks. Looking forward to returning.
This picturesque A-frame was exactly what my friends and I were looking for! We loved the location and views from inside and outside of the home, made all the more special by the hanging outdoor cafe lights in the evening. We spent a lot of time on the private dock and upper deck, and it was great to be able to utilize the grill for many of our meals considering the kitchen is small. The kitchen is pretty well stocked though as far as cooking supplies, but the knives for preparing foods are not very sharp, so I’d consider bringing your own.
When we first arrived, it was hot outside and definitely warm inside the cabin, but we were surprised at how much it cooled down at night and in the early morning, so make sure to bring long pants and layers. My friends in the loft did say it was still quite warm up there for sleeping, but the downstairs bedroom was pleasant for me. They do provide many blankets and a couple fans, which helped with the temperatures.
We used all 3 kayaks to tour around the lake, which was a definite highlight! It was so awesome they had those available for use with the rental. We used a couple of the inflatables they had available for floating and got by okay with them, but I’d recommend bringing your own because the sizes and shapes were a little funky and the weight limits of some were quite low, which would work for kids but be tricky for many adults.
Be prepared that the shower is VERY small - as in you will probably have to duck to get under the spigot and might hit your head on the ceiling and hit your elbows on the shower walls. But it works for a quick refresh after being in the sun and in the lake all day.
Perhaps a bit of a random-seeming praise here, but I love that this home uses “Who Gives A Crap” brand toilet paper, which I use in my home and is 100% recycled toilet paper with 50% of proceeds going to help build toilets. Points for the sustainability and eco-conscious factor on this front!
I was pleasantly surprised at how calm and quiet the lake was. There were hardly any boats out! We were there Wednesday-Friday, so I’d imagine the traffic would pick up on the weekends, but for our mid-week stay it was perfect! Nice calm waters.
With COVID, I was disappointed that there were guests who checked out the same morning we checked in, particularly because the listing said there was a minimum 1 day vacancy between guests, but this turned out not to be the case.
Overall a great stay!
This is a lovely A-frame cabin nestled in the trees overlooking the lake. The property is filled with interesting artifacts and activities for the entire family. Both the dock and deck were spacious.
We made wonderful memories at the A Frame at Sacheen. It was a true waterfront property with a nice deck to fish, swim, and paddle-board(we brought ours)! The BBQ grill on the deck was nice because when we were there, the temperature climbed up to high 90s and we didn't want to cook inside. Our boys (age 8 & 12) had a great time swimming off the deck but I think the "mini" sandy beach by it would be great for even younger kids too. Communication was fantastic and we really appreciated that because we had more than a few questions. We will definitely return, hopefully soon!

About the host
Hosted by Kendra Renee Cox
Our family has called Spokane and the surrounding communities home for over 100 years. We love the lakes of eastern Washington and northern Idaho and are so grateful that we've been able to find a vacation home on one of our favorites, Sacheen Lake. Our favorite things about this lake are its natural beauty and tranquility. We'd love to share it with you!
Why they chose this property
We bought this property because we love nothing more than a beautiful view and being on and close to the water with our friends and family. It's such a wonderful escape from the workaday grind to sip a cool drink on the deck or sunbathe on the dock, or kayak around the usually very peaceful lake.
