About Amy and Richard Greener
Hi I'm Amy Greener and along with my husband Rick, we own and self-manage our 6 cabins in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Our goal is to give you the best vacation rental experience ever. We hope to retire someday but for now, this is our family business and it keeps us busy! We would love to be your hosts at Swaying Pines.
Amy and Richard Greener purchased this Cabin in 2002
Why Amy and Richard Greener chose Pigeon Forge
Lots of people ask us why we chose this area to buy a vacation rental, when there are so many beautiful properties in our home state of Michigan. Honestly, it boiled down to two big factors: money and weather. With three young children, we didn't have much money to work with. We were looking specifically for a modest, fixer-upper. And Michigan gets mighty cold after October, so we headed south for our cabin search. We love the Smokies, the history of the area and it's welcoming people. We've made many friends and acquaintances there over the years, and you can't help but feel that wonderful southern charm and hospitality wherever you go.
What makes this Cabin unique
Swaying Pines is a hidden gem...only 5 minutes from either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. We especially enjoy the short drive to either town when it's really busy, like holidays. The 6 acre lake is privately owned so you don't need to buy a fishing license. It's so relaxing to take a walk around the corner to the lake and drop a line...or just make a loop around the lake for some exercise. The horseshoes are lots of fun, too. It has been a joy for us to gradually update and upgrade the cabin and hear comments from guests who remember it having a blue exterior, dial up internet or the old jacuzzi in the main bath. Humble beginnings, for sure :)

Fall Break Vacation
The rental was in a great location. A little dark to see some of the signs in the way in at night, but that’s not the owner’s fault. Once we made it the first time, we were good to go.
My wife and I traveled with our 2 year old and 6 year old. The 6 year old loved sleeping in the upstairs bedroom, by herself. We didn’t use the loft bed, but it felt comfortable.
Both girls loved the hot tub. That was a must every night when we got back. We also used the fireplace quite a bit. It was very relaxing and made the space very cozy.
My oldest and I went down to the pond and fished one morning. It was very convenient to have it so close by.
The cabin had everything we could have asked for. Plenty of utensils, towels, and even some Lincoln Logs for the girls.
My 6 year old has already asked about the next time we can go back.
Thank you, Steven! Love that your family enjoyed Swaying Pines. Many years ago our three children helped us focus on activities and spaces for kids to have fun at the cabin. They donated their giant, building block Legos about 15 years ago and those blocks are still going strong lol Tell your daughter that we would love to have your family back anytime and we're happy she enjoyed it so much :)
We took Teacup Yorkie with us this year. The fenced in gate was wonderful. We saw wild turkeys and a small black bear. Our time was relaxing. It was far enough out to have peace and quiet, yet in 10 minutes, we could be in the middle of all the touristy things to do. The house was exactly like we expected, clean and up to date. Only advise is be prepared for the very sharp turns to get to the cabin. They are narrow, but you get used to it. The 1st floor bathroom was spacious. The shower was large and wonderful. The house was accommodated very well, didn't need for anything. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Thank you, Lisa. It was our pleasure to share Swaying Pines with you. I appreciate the compliments and would love to have you back!
The cabin was beautiful and the lake was great for fishing!
Thank you, Sarah! Please come again.
Awesome get away
My family and I had an amazing time during our stay. The house is as described. Although we did not need to contact Amy during our time there, she was great at communicating before arriving. Some pros: the house is clean, plenty of room for our family of 5 and our dog, pets are allowed, some cleaning supplied available, washer and dryer, horseshoe pit, pond within walking distance, and between both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Cons: no dresser in the downstairs bedroom (although some hangers available), steep dropoff without a complete fence border in the yard, and tight turns getting to the property and driveway. I still give 5 stars considering not everything can be controlled by the owner and pros definitely outweigh the cons, would recommend!
Thanks for the recommendation, Brittany! I appreciate your review of the cabin. In the king bedroom, the armoire that holds the TV takes up a lot of space. We leave two armoire shelves open for guests to use. This winter, I'm asking my husband to build custom wall storage that will house the flat screen TV, an electric fireplace and shelving for guest storage. I love built-ins and hope this will be the next little update we tackle at Swaying Pines. We would love to have you back to check it out!
Wonderful cabin in the woods
We took a family vacation here in August and it was great! The cabin is great and has everything you could ask for ( even had dog treats for our family dog). It was so nice to come back to the cabin after a busy day of hiking and with lots of other visitors! We could relax, grill out and just chill out or play Jenga or darts! Communication was great! Would definitely recommend this cabin and hope to go back soon!
Thank you, Kristine. Love that you had a great experience at Swaying Pines. We'd be honored to have your family back again!
It was very clean, very cozy! The deck was my absolute favorite because it was so big and peaceful. Sitting in the morning and drinking my coffee was so relaxing! The location was right between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The owners were available for any issues and solved it immediately. Great people to deal with. I recommend staying here and would definitely go back!
Thank you, Kerri! We love to hear that our guests had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at the cabin. That's what vacations should be all about ;) Thank you so much for recommending us to others. Please come again anytime.
