The studio apartment was very nice and clean. It is very secluded but still close to attractions and historical parks. We went to Harper’s Ferry and also hiking at Sugarloaf Mountain park. We did some shopping in historic Frederick and found a nice Mexican restaurant (Habanero Mexican Food Bar and Grill). Would definitely recommend this studio apartment and hope to stay there again soon!
This was such a great place to stay. Quiet, clean, out of the way, and so relaxing. It was just a few minutes from a local winery with love music and outdoor seating. Great hiking also just a few minutes away at Sugarloaf Mountain Park. The studio has everything we needed to make our long weekend perfect!
This place was absolutely amazing! We were able to hike and also visit Harpers Ferry and DC. The bed was so soft. It was a perfect place for my husband and I. The description was exactly as said. Would definitely stay again!
It was a great location and perfect accommodations for our needs! Strong Mansion was a stones throw from our accomodations! Very well maintained property and home!
We truly loved our two nights at this beautiful log cabin in the woods! It’s exactly as advertised - very clean, beautifully designed and decorated. This is definitely the best place to stay in the area and we will certainly be back.
My wife and I got married nearby and we and the wedding party stayed at the Log House for the weekend. My brother in law stayed in the studio with his wife and two kids. Incredible place for a getaway with close friends. Spacious and modern interior, but still with a remote log cabin feel. Tons of outdoor space as well.
My husband and I loved every minute of our stay! Quiet, removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Hiking trails were great! We loved the combination of rest/respite and exercise. Perfect for our anniversary celebration. The mattress was the best I've slept on in a long time. So comfy! We can't wait to visit again!
Great out of the way place, yet close to everything.
We loved it here. The cabin was so cozy and welcoming. The other residence in the larger part of the log home were not an issue. Hardly ever knew they were there. Well insulated and the porch on the cabin was perfect for relaxing and listening to all the birds. We would return here for sure!
We were in need of a quiet get away. The cabin is isolated but Sugarloaf Mountain is close by. We hiked there. Also found a lovely restaurant Monocacy Crossing Restaurant. Truly a “hidden gem.” The bed was comfortable and the kitchenette was perfect. We sat on the front porch and enjoyed our morning coffee.
Loved staying at the Sugarloaf Studio! It was peaceful and calming staying in the woods. The property was well kept and the studio was very clean. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants a get away!
Only issue we had with the property was parking. When we got to the studio there wasn’t any parking for us, only because there was a lot of guests staying in the Log House.
We had a nice stay, but unfortunately when we left on Easter Sunday we came back our cooler was stolen off of the porch. I left it out only to dry out.
I loved getting away from the fast lane of life!!!
My recommendations:
1. There needs to be better lighting—inadequate lighting.
2. There needs to be more hangers for clothing!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed at this beautiful cabin for a weekend. We had a great time getting out of the city and into the wilderness.
We read the previous reviews so we had an idea of what we were getting into with regards to noise. And boy was that ever accurate. Loud music and drinking games from kids who most likely weren’t 21 yet. We will always remember the “CHUG, CHUG, CHUG” chanting reverberating throughout the cabin. We just laughed about it and weren’t upset because there was no deception about the noise. But, we most likely wouldn’t stay here again unless the party animals vacate. Overall, we enjoyed our time away.

Sorry about the noise Brooke. Unlucky I guess. Unfortunately theres nothing we can do about that.
Parking was fine but getting back up the driveway was difficult. Best to have 4-wheel drive! Great spot for quiet unless the big house is occupied by a noisy group. That was not our experience though. Easy commute to town. Would definitely stay again! Thanks!
We had a great time during our stay! We loved that we felt very off the grid but we're still close to Frederick. This gave us the option to hike right near the cabin but also to easily run into town for dinner etc. The place is very clean and comfortable. As the listing mentioned it is connected to a larger cabin where there was a larger party staying for 2 of the nights we were there. We could definitely hear the music they were playing but we knew this was a possibility and weren't bothered by it. Overall we would definitely stay here again of we ever go back to the area!
We stayed here for 4 nights during October on a trip to DC. It's a little drive from the Capitol but it was a great place to stay. The Bed is SUPER comfy and the seclusion is great. Out in the woods. Would definitely come and stay again! Stewart always responded quickly and was very helpful!
Setting is a private forest reserve 40 mi from DC. Beautiful studio apartment attached to a much larger log house. I was looking forward to 4 days of peace and quiet and the first day was just that. On day 2 a large rowdy wedding party arrived and stayed 3 nights . Very noisy and unrestrained the first night, blocked my car in by over filling the small parking area. I contacted the manager who was helpful and the group then mostly stayed quiet and despite the mob of people, caused little disturbance. Good job Stewart.
