Safe and Clean approved. Extremely clean, modern, bright and airy 3 bedroom villa set in the residential area of Santa Maria Maior, Old Town, Funchal. Within 5 minutes walking distance to shops and restaurants. Uninterrupted sea views visible from the large outdoor areas located on 2 levels - great for watching the Dolphins. Plenty of private space for relaxing on sun beds or dining al fresco whilst watching the cruise ships passing immediately in front of the property. Modern interior updated to provide large airy open plan areas and now the added comfort of air conditioning in all the bedrooms. Large open plan lounge with sea view leading to a brand new fully equipped kitchen and utility room. Appliances include bean to cup coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, microwave, fridge freezer and oven. The lounge is equipped with a LCD TV, cable channels and Wifi. The Villa consists of 3 spacious bedrooms all with king size beds and with full en-suites one of which is a wet room. Sun loungers, bathing towels and parasols are provided. Decoration is modern and comfortable with quality bedding, dressing gowns and towels all supplied. A little haven perfectly located with easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The property is accessed via a set of steps and therefore is not suitable for those requiring wheelchair access. The 3rd bedroom is located on the ground floor and accessible via a staircase located off the lounge. Bed linen and towels are changed weekly at no additional charge. There is the option of a single put up bed for use in either master bedroom or bedroom 3. We can also arrange taxi transfers from the airport with a reliable taxi driver (payable locally) and Mirela can book any sight seeing trips for you. Fully Licensed in Madeira License Number AL27048 with Safe & Clean accreditation. Hand gel, masks and disinfectant also provided. The house is priced based on 4 persons with an additional charge of £50 per week for extra guests. Madeira has implemented a tourist tax which is 2 euros per person over 12 for the first 7 nights i.e. 14 euros per person. This can be paid locally to Mirela who will also need copies of your passports at check-in.

I cannot say enough great things about this rental. Our stay was fabulous from beginning to end. The house is stocked with EVERYTHING and more! It is walking distance to the old town, it has a garage for your rental car. It is beautiful inside and out. Our host met us when we arrived and were always available for any issues or questions we had. There was maid service after a week which was wonderful as well. Maderia is very special as well. A beautiful island to visit. We filled two weeks easily with hiking and site seeing.

Fabulous property

This is a lovely house with amazing views a few minutes walk from the action. We loved the sun terrace and balcony. Better equipped than our own house. Super clean. Sad to be leaving and hope to return!

Gorgeous view and location

Karen’s place has everything you could want for a great holiday. View,location,well stocked home and parking(if you have a car). The place is incredibly well stocked and great walking distance into the city itself. It was so nice to sit on the deck in the evenings that we were home to watch the sky change with the setting sun

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in, it has everything you could possibly need, the garage is an added bonus. Location is great, there is a nice little restaurant about a 100 yards from the house convenient for breakfast and a short walk takes you into the old town. Will stay here again.

Close to Old Town

This villa was incredible!! Super clean and so big. Three lovely bedrooms all with their own bathroom. A kitchen that was top of the line and then there is a laundry room with both a washer and dryer. Everything is modern and up to date. Outside is a very large patio with lounging chairs and table with a spectacular view of the ocean. A very short walk gets you into old town. One of the nicest vrbo places I have ever rented.

My daughter, sister, and I spent a wonderful week in Madeira at Karen & Mike’s home in Funchal. Karen & Mike were responsive during booking, planning, and our stay. They reserved great taxi service - for Rafael to pick us up at airport and also do a day tour of part of island. He was friendly and energetic and shared his love of the island. Wonderful Mirela greeted us warmly upon arrival and walked us through the home and was always available to answer questions. You really have a wonderful team available to guide you in Madeira. As others have noted, the welcome of bread, butter, fruit, and wine gave us some sustenance while we got our bearings. We would have been happy to just sit all week on the terraces in very comfortable outdoor furniture overlooking the sea - it is a beautiful location! So close to restaurants and markets that we enjoyed. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen has everything. We highly recommend Karen & Mike’s home - just amazing!

Beautiful property

Overlooking Funchal harbour, with a short walk from the heart of the city. A beautifully appointed, spacious property, with plenty of space for 6 adults. The only shortcoming was building works to properties on either side (which the owner could do nothing about), which were very intrusive with heavy drilling and loud music every day.

The property was clean tidy and of a high spec, just what we were looking for.

we found the villa to be spacious and very comfortable. We particularly liked the Aircon and en suites in each bedroom, along with the balcony and terrace space which would be ample even if the villa had 6 people in it. The kitchen was also fully spec’d with a great coffee machine being the highlight for us. We spent most of our time outside so the comfortable outdoor seating was also much welcomed. The owners have clearly thought of everything well done to them!

Holiday in Madeira

Excellent property. I could not believe the amount of ware glasses etc. It had absolutely everything. Mirela was so helpful. Great view from the property. We felt the pull up the hill but very soon found an alternate route. Would definitely recommend it to anybody who is thinking of going to Madeira. Weather was very warm when we were there so it was great to sit out in the shade.

Absolutely fabulous!!

Everything about this rental is fantastic. It is in a great location, it's a really terrific house, very responsive, owner, and wonderful housekeeper who was really helpful. We were walking distance from everything. We rented a car and we could keep it in the garage. We used in the car for excursions. Two different hiking locations and sights around the island. We had so much fun! Best rental ever!

Location Location

The best self-catering villa ever.! Beautifully furnished, comfortable beds, extremely well stocked kitchen in all respects. Extremely generous welcome pack. Terrace and balconies galore with amazing views to watch the cruise ships. Will be back! Housekeeper Mirela and taxi driver Rafael made our lives even easier. so sorry to leave. Very good communication prior to holiday with owners.

Excellent villa ,perfect location!

We stayed two weeks in this villa in the end of march and enjoyed our stay enormously.The location is perfect,in the old town near the restaurants but far enough to be quiet.The sun shines to the terrace all day long.The villa is very well kept and clean,the towels and sheets are good quality. Also the villa is very well equipped,everything you might need in the kitchen you will find. The housekeeper is very efficient and kind.Airport transfers with Rafael were smooth . We truly recommend this villa. Thank You Karen and Mike!

Stay to Madeira

The accommodation was very clean and enough space for everyone. Stunning view from the big terrace, where you can sit and eat on a big table. We had everything we needed. The renter was achievable at anytime. We were ordered a taxi to and from the airport. Great service. The driver was on time. We were feeling so comfortable! Very very lovely renter!!! If we come back to Madeira, we would stay in this accommodation again!!

Our first visit to Madeira was for our Honeymoon 35+ years ago and we have been returning ever since. It was our visit at Christmas 2014 when we found the house and are extremely happy to share it with you. We live in the UK, have one Son and are both working professionals.

Why they chose this property

We have been travelling to Madeira for over 35 years and have taken great care to obtain a property which suits the high expectations of visitors to Madeira. We wanted a property where we could watch the cruise ships and fire works and had undisturbed views of the sea. These requirements limited our available search to the one road (Rue do Lazareto ) which we were rewarded with finally found a house on completing in June 2015.

What makes this property unique

It was watching the cruise ships on New Years eve from the terrace which convinced us that this was the right property for us. We had been searching in this area for many years and the view sealed the deal ! We have just returned having spent 2 weeks watching the dolphins playing in the sea, a magical breakfast experience.
