Country cottage with stunning views and private pool

The cottage was built in 2007 and sits in an elevated position next to the 12th century church in the picturesque hamlet of Sainte Innocence ( Fonroque 2km, Sigoules 3.5 km, Eymet 5 km Bergerac Airport 12km ) . It offers all mod cons (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, TV and DVD with Freeview channels, WiFi) together with rustic features of exposed beams and a wood burner. The cottage has 1 double bedroom (with en suite WC and walk in shower) and 1 twin room, a family bathroom (with WC, bath and shower) and a large,airy open plan living area and kitchen. Both bedrooms have Air Conditioning. Linen and towels can be provided for a small cost. It is perfect for couples or families alike. There is a covered outdoor terrace with stunning views over the surrounding vineyards and sunflower fields, and a further south-facing terrace with barbecue. The decked pool area is shielded by a low hedge offering privacy, and looks out over the rolling Dordogne countryside.The property is situated in a large plot offering ample room for outdoor games of cricket, football etc and to enjoy the local wildlife, but given its central location does not feel isolated. For those wishing to explore the surrounding villages and make the most of the quiet country lanes, there are two adult mountain bikes to use.

There is plenty to enjoy in this area of France beyond the property with weekly markets in many of the villages, wine tasting in the local vineyards and fantastic food in the cafes and restaurants. During July and August there are a number of evening markets with a lively atmosphere The area enjoys a rich history and there are many chateaux within a short drive. Larger towns of St Emilion, Bordeaux, Sarlat and Perigueux are less than an hour and a half away. For a more active holiday, there are numerous places to hire canoes on the Dordogne and some excellent golf courses are nearby.

Lovely cottage in beautiful area

We had a great time in this peaceful and relaxing cottage. The cottage had everything you could need and the garden and views were lovely. Great little villages locally for markets and meals out. Shame it wasn't warm enough to use thd pool!

A first class property in a perfect setting

The property is situated in a quiet village where the silence of the countryside side is only broken by church bells, the local cockerel, and the distant sound of tractors working in the fields. Despite this, access to main roads and towns could not be easier, and all things permitting, we have already promised ourselves a return visit next year. We were delighted with the house, amenities and its location.

Very nice house ideally located in a quiet area surrounded by sunflowers and vineyards. The house is well equipped (appliances, wifi, air conditioning) and has a very nice swimming pool to have fun with children. If I have to point out a few small flaws: all the TV programs are in English which is not easy as a non-English speaker and you cannot stream to compensate because the internet is capped. And unfortunately the bikes are in poor condition and do not allow their use. But this is ultimately quite superfluous. We had a very good stay and I recommend this rental.

Fantastic property

This is a fantastic little house in the beautiful countryside south of Bergerac. As it is quite rural most people staying here would require a car to get to the property. House has a lovely little pool with some steps leading down into it. Pool area was clean tidy and also fully gated off so no risk of little ones getting in unattended. Temps when we stayed were close to 40 degrees Celsius so the house was rather warm as it's in the sun all day but there are air con units and fans in the property so they helped us stay cool overnight. Facilities in the property were excellent, all utensils you need for cooking and eating are provided. Having 2 toilets and showers in the property was ideal, especially not having to share with a teenager! WiFi was decent considering the rural location. I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely property in a quiet location but within easy reach of plenty of towns and villages... not to mention the wonderful countryside. The house is clean and comfortable and the pool is nicely secluded from neighbouring properties thanks to the hedge. Thoroughly recommended.

Set in a lovely location with great views from the terrace, the pool was perfect to cool off in the hot weather. Only a short drive to shops and restaurants. A good location for visiting the many beautiful towns and villages in the area. We definitely want to return and would recommend this property

Lovely stay in excellent location

We had a very enjoyable holiday in this lovely home for 2 weeks with our small baby. The location is brilliant and we were able to make lots of day trips with ease. The pool is very nice but unfortunately it turned green due to heavy rain- someone came to rectify this but the issue still persisted after. It would also have been great to have had a second set of bed linen so we could have changed ourselves over the two weeks. The house and surrounding views are lovely and perfect for a family with small children. Communication with the owners was very good and they were always quick to respond.

Agréable séjour en famille

Maison très agréable et bien équipée, située dans un environnement très calme et avec une très jolie vue sur la campagne environnante. Nombreuses activités possibles dans les environs. Catherine, la propriétaire, est très disponible pour échanger en cas de questions ou problèmes. Nous avons malheureusement eu un souci avec la piscine mais Catherine a fait de son mieux pour trouver des solutions. Nous avons passé une bonne semaine de vacances en famille.

Super séjour

Nous avons passé un super séjour. Un vrai cocon, piscine privée appréciable même si elle commence à vieillir un peu. Il y avait pleins de jeux de société, la cuisine était super bien équipée, la chambre principale est une vraie suite avec une vue magnifique. Nous étions 2 couples, du coup nous avons été surpris de voir que dans la 2e chambre, il y avait 2 lits simples et non un lit double. Ce n'est pas très grave mais ça aurait été bien de le savoir en avance. L'horaire de départ est le grand moins du séjour. Nous avons dû quitter pour 10h, ce qui abrège le dernier jour et nous a fait levé un peu tôt.

Au coeur de la nature

Bonne location . Conforme à l'annonce . Heureusement qu'il y a une piscine car il fait très chaud en Dordogne . On peut se promener dans les vignes autour de la location ( ça ne dérange pas les viticulteurs ). Il y a un bois à proximité où l'on peut se promener aussi et visiter les palombières . Avec les enfants , on a ajouté 2 poisson-rouges dans le lavoir municipal ( il y en avait déjà 3 ).

Peace and quiet in the sun

The most perfect setting where we enjoyed peace and tranquility whilst having access to the surrounding towns and villages Both the property and the swimming pool were excellent with easy access to the terrace. Our only disappointment was the beds - much too low and quite uncomfortable in the main bedroom and too small with thin mattresses in the second bedroom, quite unacceptable for a tallish man. We really would love to spend more holidays here but we really do need an assurance that the beds have been upgraded.

Lovely St Innocence

The house is surrounded by a really big garden with an ancient old tree, a nice swimming pool and the widest view ever! The church of the 12th century is also a very charming accent. Its so quiet overthere you cant hear a thing except nature’s noise. The house was built for simple use and is well equiped. We even planned less trips to stay ‘home’.

Nice house in excellent location

We spent 17 nights at the house which is well equipped and comfotable. The location at St. Innocence is excellent. Very close to Sigoules; not far from both Eymet and Bergerac and within easy driving distance of many of the Bastide towns. Views from the property are excellent and we had some spectacular sunsets. Kids will enjoy the pool! The owner is very helpful and quick to respond to emails.
