McDaniels Misty Blue ~ A Cozy & Quaint Cabin w/Exceptional Smoky Mountain Views

Looking for a special place in the Smoky Mountains to relax and unwind? McDaniels Misty Blue is that place ! Located in the heart of Townsend and minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Our spacious parking area will easily accommodate 4 cars comfortably. Enter the front door of the cabin and walk into our open concept living room, dining room and kitchen areas. A short walk down the hall and you will find our master bedroom with a super comfy King size bed and a sliding door that opens to the deck and our brand-new hot tub! Next door to the master bedroom is the main level bathroom with a jetted tub and shower option available.

Want to bring along friends? No problem! We have a second bedroom downstairs with its own private entrance. The downstairs bedroom cannot be accessed within the main level of the cabin, you must go outside and down the back stairs or walk around the side of the cabin to enter. (This would NOT be a good choice for small children). The downstairs bedroom offers a King size bed and a full-size futon. Included is a private bathroom with a tub/shower combo. We also offer smart TV's and Wi-Fi for streaming.

Our fully equipped kitchen comes with all the accessories you will need to prepare meals and we do have a gas grill on the back deck as well. We have puzzles and cards if you elect to stay in with a cozy fire. If there is something extra that we can do to make your stay more magical, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know as we want you to love McDaniel's Misty Blue and come back year after year.

Wonderful cabin retreat

We loved our return trip to this cabin, so nice. Views of Laurel Valley are hard to beat. Grounds are nice - good-sized level parking off-street. Newer well-built 3 level deck with hot tub just add to the fantastic views. Plenty of seating inside and the internet/TV's worked great. Kitchen stocked with utensils. Plenty of Bed pillows. Hope to return again!

Thanksgiving week

The neighborhood was absolutely beautiful and the cabin had amazing views. The drive up to the cabin was fairly easy especially if you do it the 1st time during the day. We saw turkeys but unfortunately didnt see any bears.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

Misty Blue is a wonderful weekend getaway. The cabin was clean, exactly as described, and had great amenities. The view was beautiful and the location was very convenient to Townsend. The check in and check out process was very easy. We would stay again!

Great cabin with amazing view

The cabin was clean, had everything we’d need to make our stay feel like home. I actually wish we had spent more time enjoying the property, but the surrounding area was great too. We will definitely be back to Misty Blue or one of Jo’s other properties as soon as we can. I only wish it was a little shorter drive.

Me and my friends were in town for a bachelor trip and found this cabin just far away enough from the hustle and bustle so we could enjoy the evenings and mornings. We were so impressed with the view, cleanliness and hospitality that we experienced! Definitely would book again

Bears, bears, and more bears, and a beautiful clean cabin

Was a beautful cabin with a beautiful view with tons of wildlife to see. Bears, more bears, more bears, two non venimous snakes, turkeys, and more. The owner of the cabin was nearby for any needs that came up and took care of them immediately. If I could find anything to legitemately call for with a concern about, it was fixed immediately. I cannot say enough about how awesome they were here. Had to swap some pillows between rooms to get the right feel between us, but we figured that out after the first night. They were all harder in one room and soft in another. Our friends liked hard and we liked soft and we found out after night 1 we had what the others wanted, so if you get in that situation just check the other room. Thank you for the wonderful cabin to stay in for the week. BTW if visiting the cabin. do not listen to WAZE and take the directions it gives to go up the dirt road. Pass it and go up Laurel Valley I believe it is. Laurel something. . I learned after not one but two times :) Also leaving the complex do not listen to waze your first time, but follow the signs to the exit. Waze will take you to a dead end gate. Hope this helps and do not hesitate renting this cabin. It is amazing.

Peace and quite in the Smokies

A stunning always changing. Very peaceful and tranquil. Two lovely places to sit outside one on the full sun and one in the shade and if it’s too cold inside. Rather a steep drive to get to the property but we got used it to after a couple of goes

Misty Blue

We had a wonderful time at McDaniel's Misty Blue. OMGosh, the pictures of the views really don't do it justice. It is about as close to heaven as a person could be. We love the Smoky Mountains and have stayed in North Carolina too. I was a little concerned about visiting bears from the previous couple, but we didn't actually have any. The cabin was super cozy, and the bed very comfortable. The only issue I had was that the bathroom is very dim. I had to go from the bathroom to bedroom to get ready. We would definitely go back, and have already told our friends about it!

Amazing view

The view was amazing. We enjoyed our stay here. We like the quieter side of the Smokey mountains and this place gave us just that. We spent time just sitting on the deck and enjoying the weather and view. The kitchen was stocked with cookware to enjoy meals at the cabin. The only complaints we have is the lighting in the bathroom is very dim and lack of a sharp kitchen knife. Other than that it was perfect. Would recommend this cabin. We would definitely stay here again .

Beautiful view

Beautiful view, we love Townsend because its very quiet and not very busy. The river is just a short drive away. Cabin has lots of room and and you can count on a visit from rabbits, birds,squirrels and yes 🐻. Drive up to cabin is up and up,but easy to get to. We have stayed 4 times and loved every time. We had a bit of a problem with door lock this time, but called Jo and she got us in. We will be back .
