About the Emerald View Retreat Smoky Mountains Vacation Rental
Guests have been known to see bears, foxes, and tons of other wildlife from the multiple decks. Experience the beautiful nature of The Smoky Mountains for yourself!
Enjoy the gorgeous views of the nearby Wears Valley from two spacious decks. The perfect spot for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or a nice evening drink from one of the traditional wooden rocking chairs. Soak in the relaxing hot tub while taking in the fantastic mountain views.
The cozy upper floor has many windows to enjoy the warm natural light. You'll find a cozy living room with a queen-sized murphy bed, comfortable loveseat, recliner and smart TV with access to all your favorite streaming apps. Enjoy the fireplace on those chilly Smoky Mountain mornings/evenings. Enjoy that good book or surf the web on the high-speed 300mbps WiFi—full bathroom on the main level.
You'll feel right at home in the fully equipped kitchen featuring an electric stove/oven, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster.
Seating and service for four guests. A charcoal grill is located on the top deck for your BBQing pleasure. (We are in bear country, so please do not leave food unattended outside. Bring your charcoal)
Walk down the spiral staircase to the lower level, where you'll find a comfortable king-sized bed, flat-screen Smart TV, seating area, full bathroom, full washer/dryer, and a convenient lower deck with a fantastic view. A 4-person hot tub is also located on the lower deck.
You can also access the Honeysuckle Community seasonal swimming pool, kiddie pool & private catch and release pond. Honeysuckle is located 5 minutes from the cabin on Wears Valley Rd. The cost is $5 per day.
This beautiful private retreat is located on a mountain overlooking the picturesque Wears Valley. You'll feel miles away, but you'll be just minutes from the local Wears Valley shops/eateries.
There is a 'secret entrance' to Great Smoky Mountains National Park minutes from the cabin, known as Metcalf Bottoms, featuring the beautiful Little River, a perfect place to fish, tube down the river, picnic, and hike.
Townsend, "The Peaceful Side of the Smokies," is located less than 20 minutes away; also, another entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park featuring the famous Cades Cove is less than 25 miles away. Less than a half-hour drive to the major attractions of the Pigeon Forge parkway area, 13 miles to Dollywood.

PLEASE NOTE: The fantastic views are partly due to the mountain's location. Although the road to Emerald View Retreat is paved and in good condition, it can feel rather steep in some places, with tight turns. A good rule of thumb is to keep a steady momentum going up steep curves. Please use caution when driving, especially during inclement weather.
There are two ways up the mountain to access the cabin. Although paved, the slightly shorter GPS default route can be rather steep/narrow. The other route is a little longer but overall less steep. Please refer to the info in the 'Check-In Instructions' before arrival. Please keep in mind in order to enjoy beautiful mountain views one must travel uphill unfortunately.
The driveway can accommodate up to two vehicles. Guests can back up the driveway to exit to Glenview Way.
Please Note: The cabin sits a little lower than the driveway/parking area. Walking down stairs is required to access the cabin. A light switch (top/bottom of starcase) and a motion sensor floodlight provide lighting at night.
There is an interior spiral staircase to access the downstairs. Additional access to the lower level/lower deck is possible by walking down alongside the cabin; please use caution as there is a slope that could be slippery when wet.
DUE TO ENHANCED CLEANING PROTOCOLS, NO EARLY CHECK-IN CAN BE ACCOMMODATED.
