Beautiful Oahu

The location and the property was great. The negative points were the internet was poor and the tvโ€™s were difficult to use. I had thought there would have been given the internet access. The front desk had to call the property manger and he told us were to find it in the master bedroom closet. We would definitely come back!

Excellent Family Vacation!

Ko Olina Villas units are roomy with updated appliance. We love the lani doors that really open up the space. We loved sitting outside during sun rise and sun set. You can really fell the Aloha weather! Our unit is located on the lower floors - not much for a view of the ocean or mountains, but that doesn't bother us. I do like the lower floor since its a fast way to get up and down from the unit. Everything in the unit was clean and well equipped for a longer term stay. The Villas offer up two pools and a fitness center - all very well taken care of. Only negative, which ended up fine, was the location of the parking. It is located underground at the building opposite of the unit. Not a big deal, but it would have been easier for us if it were in the same building. The coves at Ko Olina are great, especially for kids or adults who aren't great swimmers. The beaches are nice and fine - one of the best on the islands. Would stay here again!

Excellent Condo in an Excellent Area

Early morning walks along the path. Morning snorkeling and beach time. Followed by some reading and lunch at the condo and sitting by the pool in the afternoon. Throw in a workout at the gym every other day and checking out the nearby restaurants and shops. Nice beds and a pretty quiet building. Life doesn't get much better than that.

This was a nice condo. The check in process was confusing because there were 4 different elevators to get to the floor that our unit was located. We figured it out, but the concierge should have directed us to the correct elevator. The condo could have been cleaner. There was dust on the side tables and dressers. None of the glassware or dishes matched. There are beach chairs, but NO umbrella. If you want a bite to eat or a cup of coffee, you have to walk to the neighboring resort or to shops a few blocks away. Besides that, it was a beautiful location on a great beach with good snorkeling and a cute bar with friendly bartenders. The host was accommodating and communication was easy and efficient.

Great for Families

Ko Olina is a fantastic place to stay and having a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with a kitchen was perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the balcony and having plenty of space for all of us. There are 4 lagoons in Ko Olina - this property surrounds Honu Lagoon which seems to be the least crowded. We walked around the other lagoons that have the Disney hotel and the Marriott and they were so crowded and crazy, we knew we had made the right decision. There isn't a big restaurant on the property so you need to walk or drive if you want to go out for a proper meal. However, there's a bar that serves pizza, chicken nuggets, etc so we did that for lunch one day. The check in process was a little confusing because you get your key card from the front desk but they don't have any other info for you. So I figured there would be a welcome folder in the room with wifi password, brief how to use the kitchen appliances, etc - but we didn't find any of that. I had to message the property manager to get the wifi information. I've stayed at a lot of properties using VRBO and this was the first one that I had to keep going into my account to make manual payments and they tack on a credit card fee at the end. I booked this place almost a year in advance so I forgotten that they mention the credit card fee in the property details but it's not listed as one of the payments on the confirmation email. So there was a bit of extra work and confusion on my part.

Just ok

This 3rd floor unit was disappointing. Artificial plants needed dusting, bar stools legs and lower bar facing were crusted with grime and the guest bath vanity had a mystery oily substance smeared all over. It appears like a rental unit with a dirty couch and really uncomfortable indoor chairs. One dining chair was missing. Outdoor cushions are shot. No food pantry so dry groceries had to be stored on the countertop. Parking is under an adjacent bldg. which was ok. Best part is the pool and short walk to several wonderful coves but a family would struggle carrying their gear since the unit lacks a wagon. Other basic beach gear is provided but umbrellas are the size of a rain umbrella not a sun/beach umbrella. The owner seemed combative and defensive over undisclosed 4 day long loud construction noise during our 7day stay. The combination of the two made it an unpleasant stay.

not up to our expectations for a quality ko'olina condo

Unfortunately, going off the other past reviews I quickly booked this condo. I have stated at Ko'olina beach resorts before and perhaps I was spoiled by the pristine condo from two years ago but this condo did not live up to those past standards. The condo was not clean. There was dust on the TV stand, on the ceiling where the lights hung down in the kitchen, the slider door did not close all the way in the master bedroom, the a/c in the master bedroom did not work, the washer and dryer doors, if not careful, were cracking and could break.... We cleaned the condo as we entered it. Jumped on the counter and cleaned the ceiling. :) Lucky for us we were out and about a lot as you should be in Hawaii. We have met other owners in the resort and will most likely rent from them from years to come. Also, it has been difficult in staying in touch with the owner via text, email or phone calls. I just didn't feel the LOVE or the ALOHA in the condo.

Absolute gem!

This is our 2nd stay at this Villa and we absolutely love it. This trip, we were here to get married. We were able to entertain our guests comfortably and felt right at home. I think the best thing about this Villa is its quaintness. Since it is not a hotel chain and owned by private owners, it isnโ€™t as busy as the surrounding resorts. It is very family friendly and well maintained. We look forward to staying here again.

Great Villa Complex

I have stayed on the Ko Olina Villas before and the complex is great. The ad for this villa seems to oversell the quality of the unit. The cleanliness of the unit was lower than expected; as an example, there was a used bandaid in the dining area. The unit is recently remodeled using cheaper furniture where drawers easily fall out. The exhaust fans do not work in either bathroom and attention is needed to the cabinet under the kitchen sink. The bedroom curtains are not the correct size and do not easily move on the rods (OK in a home but not a luxury rental unit). I will return to the Ko Olina Villas but most likely stay in a unit managed by one of the three large management companies.

Great condo in a great location

Had a great stay with friends. Beautiful place with well kept grounds. The location is fantastic. The properties on either side are not developed (yet) so the lagoon is not crowded. The condo had beach chairs, which were handy. A good assortment of spices too!

Positives overcome the challenges

We have stayed at Beach Villas a number of times when we are returning to our previous home to visit and always enjoy the facilities and location. The units are usually nice, but over the years have become dated and worn. This unit has some plugs that don't work and a missing chair in the dining set. Some furnishings are added (such as a lamp) and maintenance said it could only service those items that were part of the original furnishings. The owner is very particular with a multi-page rules/requirements document, but did not get it to us until 2 days after we had checked in, but did apologize for getting to us late (but it would have been nice to be aware of her expectations ahead of time). However, we are conscientious tenants, so rarely have we had any problems as we adjust and comply the best we can. Overall we had a pleasant stay, but I would recommend that the owner (and other owners in the facility, not to single this one out alone) keep closer tabs on the maintenance of the unit and update more of the furnishings as needed (the beds were nicely current). Rental properties take a beating as not all guests are as nice to them as they are their own, and it shows if not maintained (and not all guests let the managers know of things that need attention). The rental fees are substantial and it would be of mutual benefit to put some of those fees back into the unit. Thanks for another nice visit home.

Family vacation with our adult children

We were very happy with this property. It was even better than expected! Modern kitchen and bathrooms. Shower had great water pressure. Beds were comfortable. Unit was clean. Everything we needed for a beach day with chairs, ice chest, boogie boards, and snorkeling equipment. The only thing we wished we had was another small couch, as it wasnโ€™t comfortable for more than one couple to relax and watch tv at night on the single couch. I would definitely book again!

What makes this property unique

We invested our time and resources upgrading and remodeling this villa with a distinctive Indonesian atmosphere. The direction the condo faces helps keep it cool and pleasant under the hot Hawaiian weather, unlike other units. Please note that the villas that are not overlooking the pool/interior gardens are either facing the empty lot of land and the Marriott timeshares to the left of the building, or the parking area and empty lot on the right side. The views from this villa are always protected: you will enjoy a wonderful resort atmosphere with pool views from all bedrooms and lanais, Koi fishponds and maybe even some of the ocean tucked in between the beautiful lush, mature palm trees.
