The space

This studio apartment features a private key-pad entry, a fully appointed kitchen with a cocktail-style table + 2 bar stools, completely restored traditional Richmond architecture, neutral tones with touches of color, modern furniture, and an open-plan living area plus spa-like bath and private bedroom retreat.

This studio measures roughly 340 sq ft and comes with one queen-size bed. The space has been renovated with the kind of finishes you'll only find in high-end hotels! Two people can stay here very comfortably, even for extended periods of time.

We have stocked this apartment with everything you'll need, whether for a short weekend getaway or a month-long stay. From full size appliances to cookware and dinnerware, you can stay in and cook to your heart's content. You'll find a hairdryer, iron and full set of toiletries in the bathroom. Linens, towels are all provided as well. Just bring your suitcase and a sense of adventure, because there's a lot to discover in this neighborhood!

We had a great stay in this spot, so perfectly placed in Church Hill. The mattress caved in a bit in the middle, but a great experience overall. Gifting the bottle of wine was such a nice touch!

Comfortable stay, loved the neighborhood!

We decided to stay 2 nights and explore Richmond on our way from NY to Fl. The unit was exactly as described. I thought it was going to be small, but there was plenty of room. Upstairs of a building, easy to find parking. I took advantage of the yoga studio down stairs. Pizza place right across the street and dinner options in walking distance. Comfortable bed, modern kitchen and bath. Overall a great stay.

Gorgeous Studio

Everything was perfect. Nothing but beautiful from the entry to the bathroom, incredible details and probably the cleanest stay anywhere I have ever had! Street parking was free and was right in front of the door, available every night I was there. Location was a quiet street close to the interstate and VCU.

More fun the 2nd time around!

It’s hard for this little place NOT be all you can expect. The area is lovely, with coffee, pizza and ice cream within minutes. Lovely spot and unit, just be aware that it is up a pretty serious set of steps. Lots of light and special touches by the owner.

Fun Richmond Weekend

The vrbo was perfect and the location was great for us. Only 2 mins from our friends house. We took advantage of the awesome bakery, markets and ice cream shops. Parking was no problem. Had a minor issue with netflix on first night but someone came over immediately and fixed it. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. Will definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Magnificent Retreat

We stayed 4 nights. This is in the Churchill section of Richmond, VA. It is conveniently located to so many nearby eatery's. The first morning I walked to the corner bakery and picked up some wonderful pastries and granola. We were going to the Richmond Convention Center everyday very convenient easy access via Martin Luther King Bridge. The Washer and Dryer were a huge plus, getting to do laundry allowed us to come home with a bunch of clean clothes. Magnificent retreat because it is a hidden gem. I would stay here again.

Style and Comfort

You delivered what you promised. This was a well designed, stylish place. So clean! I was comfortable (once I figured how to work the heat!) and I loved the neighborhood. There were a few bulbs out, so a check on that is a good idea, but it did not cause a problem, as there's plenty of lighting. Communication was great. Any issue I had (the room code) was fixed immediately, with a quick phonically.

Perfect for the 2 of us!

Loved this place! It’s always a bit risky but we really lucked out this time! Beautifully old but new! Couple of suggestions for you. Maybe a small folding or deli table and chairs. (Brought dinner in to eat but no place to sit/enjoy.) Also maybe a fan over the bed for air circulation. Loved the bathroom enough to take photos for a bathroom renovation at home. Thank you for your hospitality!

perfect location

Sub Rosa Bakery, Pizza Bones, Union Market all within 5 minutes by foot; Computer Cave a half hour walk away to fix your electronics. Jefferson Park a 10-minute walk away. The state capitol is 30 minutes walk distant, same for the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. Memorial of the notorious triangle trade (Liverpool-West Africa-Richmond) is in Shockoe Valley, 25 minutes by foot from your room. Thanks to the year 2020 protests, very few of the monuments can be found anymore that used to valorize the rebellion perpetrated 1860-1865 by the slave power.

In February of 2020, I launched four vacation rentals in my mini boutique hotel, Eileen. Myself and my team believe in a guest-centered experience where hospitality comes first – we can’t wait to host you!

Why they chose this property

This building is a local gem with a captivating history. It was built around 1925 in Richmond’s oldest neighborhood, Church Hill. The first business located here was a dry goods & notions store. It has since been everything from a record store to a pool parlor. In 2018, after being abandoned for 8 years, we began the process of transforming her in to Church Hill’s mini boutique hotel, Eileen.

The renovation process was challenging but well worth it. After years of neglect, the foundation started sinking into the ground and the building developed a lean. It took two years to bring her back into action. Our team restored the foundation and preserved her historic charm. We added modern, luxe finishes that are impossible not to love. Despite all of that rehabilitation, the building held onto the tilt that she developed over the years, and that’s why we call her Eileen.

Eileen is a beauty. She now houses four separate vacation rentals, a juice bar, and a yoga studio. It’s the perfect place to relax, restore, and explore. We relish in hosting guests in such unique spaces, where each of you can add to the rich, ongoing history of Eileen.

If driving and exploring the city is more your style, we're close to all the major highways and only 5-10 minutes from downtown proper -- 20 minutes max to other Richmond favorites like the Fan and the Museum District.

- Modern Luxury: We hate to do this to you, but you're never going to want to leave! Each apartment at Eileen is fully appointed and unique. You'll find leathered granite, mood-board-worthy tile, gorgeous fixtures, and comfortable but stylish décor. We tried to think of everything to make your stay an absolute delight.
