High end accommodation with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Dent is a perfect village with beautiful vistas in every direction. Every trip we took to the surrounding areas brought new appreciation for the dales. Hiking was a joy as were the pub and tea room visits. Wonderful family location.
We were very impressed with the house and its location. The house was supplied with all of the things we could ever need and somethings we would never need. The village of Dent was beautiful and our neighbours were very friendly. I couldn’t recommend the house more highly!
Property was perfect, not short of anything. All good quality equipment and plenty of space for 8. Such a beautiful home. The waterfalls to the rear were in spate and wonderful to look at. Will certainly rebook.
Beautiful presented and contemporary cottage with everything you need. You really are in the middle of nowhere so be prepared to have to jump in the car to most locations but loads of walks from the door if the weather plays ball
Wonderful property, very well appointed, superb location and some very nice touches from the owner with welcome pack, various local maps and suggestions for where to eat out.

A wonderful place
Absolutely lovely house- full of character and a lovely location in a wonderful little village. We have been to a number of places like this and have never seen such a well outfitted kitchen , there was literally everything you could ever need in a kitchen. The log fire in the lounge was warm and all the bedrooms were comfortable.
Two points to consider though, you really do need to follow the directions to the house as the roads are very narrow and the stairs and landing do get a bit chilly- but these are small points that did not detract from a wonderful weekend

Review #14589352 “Detached cottage in the village of Dent. Yorkshire Dales National Park”
Do not believe them when they say "dog friendly"
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We had a lovely stay at the cottage for one week in April. The location is perfect and the cottage is beautiful. Unfortunately on the advert it does say "dog friendly" but this is not the case. Now in the Yorkshire dales if you can take your dog long walks and not get them muddy at the end by all means, go. If you are like any other dog owner do not take your four legged friends. On review of the house we were not told dogs were not allowed upstairs in any emails or on any documents we have read anywhere, but we were left with no name at the end of our trip getting accused of all sorts to "cover up" where the dog had been. Had it been made CLEAR in the house brochure and also via email before arrival we would never have had our dog in the upstairs. The owners are definitely not dog owners themselves unless they have a hairless dog with no legs. Like I've said its a really pity that we got a disgusting email after our stay, we really did enjoy ourselves but we will never apologise for our dog in a so called dog friendly cottage. After an expensive week away we were then told we would not get our deposit back because of "dog hairs" and "mud marks" - in a "dog friendly" cottage? I also believe they should state that anyone planning a trip to this cottage should not bring young chrildren, muddy teenagers or anyone with an ounce of fun in them. One t.v, none in the rooms, no games, no docking system - boring. Good job the weather was good and we managed to get out the house or we would have been scared to sneeze. We are decent people and would never go out our way to make a mess of a lovely house. But we didn't realise having fun and walking our dog would cause so much trouble and after an expensive week it's very sad we had our money taken from us for ridiculous accusations. Please anyone thinking of booking, NO TODDLERS, NO DO

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are pleased to hear that you had a good holiday and that you like the cottage, but very sorry that you don't agree that your damage to the property warranted retention of the deposit. You didn't reply to our initial email outlining the issues. However we would be very happy to discuss this matter further, so please feel free to get in touch.

A great family Christmas!
From the moment we entered the quaint village of Dent, to finally relaxing after unpacking I don't think I stopped saying things like....... oh, this is lovely.......look at this ...... what a fabulous place......this is perfect!
And it was!
The house was beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you need. (except a potato masher..... but I think we considered that a minor inconvenience!! ) For a large house that sleeps eight people it manages to be spacious, yet cosy at the same time. Everyone loved it. There are four showers! What a luxury. No queueing for bathrooms.
We had a lovely family Christmas at the Methodist Manse. We tried both the pubs in the village, where everyone was friendly and welcoming. We had lovely evenings where we cooked a meal all together in the lovely social space that was the kitchen and dining area. Then we relaxed in front of the log burner in the lounge.
The only downside was the weather..... but we didn't let that spoil things.
All in all we had a wonderful Christmas holiday in the Methodist Manse.
We'd love to see Dent again sometime, maybe in better weather so that we can appreciate the surroundings as well. But as far as the house is concerned, .....book it, you won't be disappointed.
