About this property

Relaxing rural retreat

Herdwick Barn is a beautiful stone barn conversion just outside Sedbergh -‘England’s Book Town’ -in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is a fantastic base for those looking for outdoor adventure in the Lakes or Dales or a quiet spot to read and relax. Only 1.1 miles from the Sedbergh Golf Course and Sedbergh School it is also ideal for golfers or parents/friends of Sedbergh School. Enjoy stunning views of the Howgills from the patio and in winter cuddle up in front of the wood burner. In a cluster of three, the property includes its own half acre of securely fenced grounds, ideal for guests with dogs. Only a short walk from the town centre and equipped with superfast B4RN broadband it really does have everything you need for a great stay!

The Property:
This little gem has two bedrooms, both with luxury ensuite shower rooms, and spacious open-plan, single-level living. With private parking for 2-4 cars and secure gardens, including well-fenced paddock space ideal for off lead dog exercising, this wonderful family-friendly and dog-friendly retreat is the perfect base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales. A short walk into the beautiful town of Sedbergh takes you to restaurants, pubs, cafes, book and craft shops.

Herdwick Barn has a modern open-plan fully equipped kitchen; a comfortable and contemporary lounge with a Smart TV and welcoming multi fuel stove and a bright and light dining area with French doors opening to the patio – with dining and outdoor living furnishings - and garden. Both bedrooms and the lounge feature smart TVs. The home is beautifully appointed throughout with modern furnishings and décor items.

Outside, Herdwick Barn’s inviting patio is a sun trap – perfect for alfresco meals, morning coffee or sundowner drinks, and all of this overlooks a large, enclosed garden and paddock with expansive views of the surrounding meadows and the Howgill Fells. Views are there to be enjoyed at night too – as a designated ‘dark sky’ area, the big, beautiful sky at Herdwick puts on an unrivalled show of stars on a clear night.
