This cabin was exactly what we were looking for! We wanted a rustic cabin in the woods with a fireplace and fire pit! The area was serene and beautiful. It was also great that we got to bring our dogs! The hosts were responsive and very nice!
This is a wonderful, clean, comfortable cabin in a nicely remote area with little traffic. At the same time, it is not too far from main roads and is pretty easy to access. The owners live nearby and are friendly and helpful. Warm fireplace, comfy couch, and gorgeous outdoor hangout spaces, including a screen porch. Great place to come and relax for a few days.
Everything was great. Our (dog) Lily's first trip away from home and she settled right in. Was leary of fireplace when we first lit it, we dont have one. Shes fine with outdoor fires. So peaceful.
I had a wonderful trip! It was the perfect getaway. The cabin is so peaceful and the property is beautiful. I had a question and the owners responded very quickly. I highly recommend this location and look forward to returning.
Great place to relax, enjoy the beautiful location and connect with my family who live nearby. The cabin was very accomodating with everything we needed...also enjoyed the hammocks, fireplace both inside and out and the hikes with my grandkids in the area and all the interesting wood carvings around the property. The fall colors were just the icing on the cake. Very peaceful and quiet location tucked away in the mountains. My pups had fun exploring the area too. Thanks for being so responsive with all my questions. Hope to get back there again!
The cabin is a perfect simple little cabin -- complete with Starlink wifi since that's how most of us roll these days! The backyard is great with the fire ring and the awesome totem pole on the hill above. And the stroll down to the stream area is absolutely wonderful.
Neat and excellent cabin on a quiet road. Best appointed kitchen I’ve ever encountered at a rental house! Cabin is small but neat and plenty of space for use! Was a great location to visit Gettysburg and find some good fishing spots from! I’d highly recommend!
LOVED this darling cabin. The home was so cozy with a BIG fireplace and very comfortable bed. We also loved the availability to the local parks for hiking. This place is a MUST stay if you are in the area. We hope to visit again.
Secluded cabin surrounded by100 acres of woods. Mountain stream parallels the road offering refreshing afternoon dips sitting under a waterfall. I could not imagine a better place to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Amazing picnic area with a fire pit short walk from the cabin.
Great location in the forest adjacent to a stream. Very private and quiet (except for stream running which was very soothing). Cabin contained lots of amenities and was very clean. Location of cabin was convenient to Thurmond, Emittsburg and Gettysburg. Owners very nice and a good resource for information about the area. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!
This is our second time back at this cozy cabin. We love the indoor fireplace, the fire pit, the hiking, and especially that our dog is welcome here. Thanks again!

About the host

Dan & I have always loved the outdoors, especially the forests. So, when he found this property, it was like it was destined for us to live here. & here we are, 15 years later, still enjoying our little piece of Heaven. Lots of upkeep & work I grant you; but well worth all of our efforts!!
When we purchased the property, there was this little weekend cabin placed on the second parcel. Dan & I lived there while building our home for when he decides to retire. If ever!
Why they chose this property
Some years ago, we decided to share the cabin & the quiet & solitude that we enjoy so much. Plenty of wildlife & birds to observe. The sounds of the creek alone are enough to make the tension disappear. It's just a peaceful place to kick back & enjoy yourself or a good book or reconnect with family or each other. In this hectic life we live, nowadays, it's nice to know there is a quiet little place to escape to Revuenate, relax or take a much needed walk in the woods.
