Welcome to Cardinal Cabin – a peaceful, three-story retreat tucked into the woods, offering comfort, seclusion, and easy access to both Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest.

With two full bathrooms and three separate sleeping areas, the cabin is ideal for families or small groups. The main floor includes a private queen bedroom; the open loft features a king-size bed and twin bed; and the newly finished basement offers a bunk bed (twin over full) and a sleeper sofa, along with a second cozy living space.

The main living area includes vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, and an open layout leading into a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The lower level also features a wet bar and mini fridge. Wi-Fi is available throughout the cabin, making it easy to stay connected if needed.

Step outside to enjoy the 6-person hot tub on the upper deck, overlooking a private, wooded hillside. A 4-burner Blackstone griddle and outdoor fire ring make it easy to enjoy meals and evenings outdoors.

Need-to-Know Info:

The cabin is located on a gravel road that's a little bumpy and slightly steep in spots, but it’s well-traveled and manageable for most vehicles. During winter weather, AWD or 4WD might be helpful, though professional snow removal is provided.

The cabin uses well water. It’s safe to drink, but if you’re sensitive to the taste, you may want to bring bottled water. A refrigerator filtration system is also in place.

Cell service is generally good for AT&T and T-Mobile, and fair for Verizon, though occasional dropped calls can occur in the area.

Less than 5 minutes from parts of Wayne National Forest, and just 20 minutes from Old Man’s Cave and the Hocking Hills trail system, Cardinal Cabin offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and modern comfort.

Pet Policy: Up to 2 dogs allowed (some restrictions may apply). A $100 pet fee applies. No charge for service animals with valid documentation.

Very clean and peaceful cabin in a quiet location. Owner responded promptly to any questions we had during our stay and about the area. The long stone road over hills to get there was a little tricky to navigate if not an experienced driver.

The property is beautiful. I have never been camping before and I would have to say this was definitely a great experience. The cabin was clean. They made sure the hot tub was clean and ready for use. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous. If you decide to stay out there make sure you check out Old Mans Cave and Ash Cave. Also walmart for necessaties.

2nd annual girls weekend

Great Stay!

This is a great cabin. It is spacious with an open floor plan, a loft, and basement. The nearby cabin was far enough to allow for a lot of privacy. Lots of trees. Beautiful night sky. Nice deck. The hot tub is great. We enjoyed our stay and will likely be back!

Amazing trip and cabin!

We loved our stay this weekend. Everything was exactly as described. Cabin was perfect and very clean. We were super impressed with everything, down to the cute way the towels were set up in bathrooms. Hot tub was awesome and such a peaceful and so quiet place to unwind and unplug. And beds were SO comfy! We went to Old Mans Cave only 20 min away and loved that. Thank you for making this trip so great for us. We hope to return again!!

Perfect place to relax!

Perfect place for our family of 7 to spread out or hang out together (5 adults and 2 teens). The driveway was slightly daunting, but worth it for the privacy and beautiful view! As warned, Verizon doesn’t have service at the cabin and you quickly realize how many apps you rely on (weather, banking, maps, etc), but the phone (hot spot) at the cabin worked until we went into The Coffee Emporium in Logan (highly recommend, pet friendly ). The major hiking parks are about a 20 min drive. We drove an hour to Chillicothe to see the Tecumseh drama and it was well worth it.

Fantastic weekend getaway

We had a great weekend here. We were fortunate to have an unseasonably warm weekend and spent the majority of time outside. There are two hanging chairs on the lower level that are so comfortable that we spent almost an entire day just swinging in them and reading/napping. The upper deck has an outdoor table that we used for almost all of our meals and just sitting looking at the stars. The hot tub is really nice as well. I went with a friend so the lower level was a nice way to create some private space as well. Kitchen is well stocked with all of the basics. As we were leaving, we realized we had not turned on any of the tvs the entire weekend! The added bonus was that it is pet friendly so we were able to bring our dogs. I will definitely plan to stay here again in the future and recommend to others! Did some nice long walks through the woods.

We drove down from Columbus to escape to a cabin for Christmas due to a long year full of sacrifice and hard work that we are happy to put behind us! The booking was simple, the directions to the cabin were thorough and straight forward as was the check in process. The cabin was much larger than I anticipated with tons of room to play and stretch out and explore! The weather was beautiful and the property was perfect to have a fire and hike around! There was a spacious hot tub and lots of porch space! The cabin had everything we needed to make each meal at home (based on what was listed ahead of time, we also brought our own stuff) which was so nice. Every room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. I can’t say enough good things! The host was responsive when I had questions and the hot spot provided to make up for lack of cell service was really helpful. We had an absolute blast and a Christmas vacation we will remember forever!! Thank you so much. We will absolutely be recommending to our friends and hopefully booking again in the future!

Found a live roach. Told the host. He said it was a wood roach. Next morning my 2 year old was playing next to the kitchen table. Another roach. This one was dead. So i looked under the fridge and stove.. found dead roaches and roach poop everywhere. The host told me bugs make their way inside and they dont have a roach problem.... look at the pictures and tell me what you think..... we got refunded but had to find somwhwere else to stay the rest of our vacation and the whole time we were there it felt nasty and dirty.

Had a fun stay with some friends and explored and hiked a lot The area and the cabin was beautiful and very calming. The caves were a cool site to see! Wish the cabin had Wi-Fi though and some signal but other than that it was nice.
