About this property
Character cottage for four in beautiful village steeped in history
Located in an unspoilt north Hertfordshire village, this lovely cottage is situated in a converted granary, retaining much of its character including many exposed beams.
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher. At one end is a table and chairs for four.
There is a spacious lounge with comfortable seating and large screen TV.
Upstairs are two bedrooms - one with a king size bed and one double. The roomy bathroom features a bath with shower over.
The cottage has gas central heating with a combi boiler providing on-demand hot water.
Outside is a charming courtyard garden fitted out with bench seating on three sides and a dining table. The courtyard is something of a sun trap (although there is ample shade provided by the pretty wisteria) and is perfect for enjoying an outdoor meal, drink or just relaxing with a book.

About the host
Hosted by Nicki and Mike Holmes

We have enjoyed living just outside the village for over 30 years, raising our family of two girls - now all grown up!
Ashwell is the sort of village that people move to and never leave! It's easy to see why. It is a very pretty and welcoming village, with a host of historic buildings, beautiful church and even a village museum. There's lots going on with plenty of village events including a music festival, village open day, country show and book fair - to name just a few!
The village is situated in rural North Hertfordshire on the Herts/Cambs border and surrounded by lovely countryside.

What makes this property unique
As soon as we walked through the door of the cottage we were charmed! It is full of character and the beams retain the feel of the old building. It is in a really great location in the centre of the village but tucked away in a quiet location so you can walk to all the local amenities including a renowned local butchers, bakers and no less than 3 country pubs all serving delicious food!
The cottage has a lovely outside seating area which is a real sun trap - great for catching the rays, enjoying a relaxing meal or just chilling out. And if you feel like being more energetic, there are some great country walks - right from your door.
