Great neighborhood close to the hospital, lots of parks within walking distance. Conveniently located off the interstate. Great communication with the hosts and very clean property. I would definitely stay here again!
A lovely place to spend the weekend while visiting family in the area. Good communication with the host and grateful for accommodating us for an early check in!
This place was perfect for our trip to visit Duke University. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Michelle was a great host! She was readily available to help with whatever we needed and answer questions from restaurant recommendations to sight-seeing recommendations!
Easy to find the property and was the perfect size for 3 adults. The kitchen had everything we needed, where we even cooked a meal one night! We enjoyed the deck as well.
We needed a place close to Duke hospital for a month due to my husband’s surgery and a safe place for our dog. This home was perfect for our needs. The fenced in back yard was exactly what we needed for our dog.
We were in town for a birthday party for our 1-year-old granddaughter. This home couldn’t have been more perfect. Location was great. It was comfy and quiet. Will definitely book here again.
House was nice especially for a pet friendly property. Pictures were accurate. Hassle free check in. It is very close to a busy highway, so it was noisy.
Location is right off the highway in a nice quiet neighborhood. You can walk to the park or go for a quick drive for pretty much any food you need. House is great and the backyard is perfect for a dog. Comfortable and cozy!
We have never felt so welcome and at ease in a new city! The owners were immediately available at all times. The neighbors were welcoming!
Charming house, fenced back yard which was great for our dog. Amazing hiking trails nearby. I cannot say enough positive things about our stay.
Very convenient, clean home at the end of a dead-end street. My wife and our 2 dogs were in town for a long weekend to explore Durham's restaurants, local hikes and museums. The back yard is fenced and a big plus for our 2 dogs. Would definitely want to stay here again.
The property is a cozy bungalow that is conveniently situated to restaurants, parks, and close to downtown Durham. We both enjoyed the house. It was very clean and well supplied to make our stay comfortable. I will recommend this property to my friends.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Communication
First the plusses. Close to Duke hospital, food shopping and Duke U. Beds are comfortable and house although small has most of the basics (although make sure you bring a sponge for the kitchen, dish soap and extra paper towels, and toilet paper, you get the minimum). Also if you drink caffeinated coffee make sure you bring your own (only decaf). One of the biggest issue was that the house is adjacent to a freeway and right behind a busy road so there is a lot of noise both inside and outside all the time. Something the host should be more transparent about.
The house was a perfect size for me and my dog! It is close to so many food options, Duke, and downtown Durham, and it is right off the highway. Quiet neighborhood that is easy to walk around and get to some parks. The fenced in backyard was great to let my dog roam and play with him. Really enjoyed my stay and if I ever need a place in the Durham area again, I hope to stay here again!
The home was comfortable and met all of our needs. It was clear many updates were made to modernize the house. Everything functioned well and was lovely. The host was very kind and graciously allowed us to check in early. The home is near the freeway, which is convenient, but also a little loud when you’re outside.
We were pleased with our stay in Durham at this cozy, clean and well appointed dog friendly home. The home is located close to playgrounds, parks and trails with easy access to I85 as well. We enjoyed taking our 2 year old grandson to the playground and walking the dog on the trails.
We were delighted with this adorable home! The furnishings are so modern and tasteful. Everything you need is here! We were here for medical care and found the location ideal for Duke hospital and offices. Wish we could give the owner MORE than 5 stars - she is a gem. She was so flexible through our medical ups and downs, and quickly responded to our questions. Our stay couldn’t have been better!
We stayed at this property while attending our son’s graduation from Duke University. The rates were very reasonable and our stay was comfortable. The location is great for easy access to the university but it is very close to the freeway and you can hear the traffic noise. We are big city people so it was not a huge issue but it would be nice to know ahead of time. Spending time outside is not as enjoyable when you hear the constant roar of traffic.

Response from VrboOwner on 13 May 2024
Hi Deborah. We’re glad you liked the house. We cannot control the traffic volumes and given it was graduation for Duke, UNC and Mother’s Day weekend, the traffic may have been louder than normal.
We are sorry that we didn’t deliver the 5 star experience that we are accustomed to but again, the noise is not in our control and obviously the traffic on 85 would be much higher for this particular weekend.
About the host
Hosted by Carson & Michelle
My husband and I take a lot of vacations with our dogs using VRBO and we decided that we would like to offer a place, just like our great hosts have offered. We found the perfect property, close to Duke and the VA so that families who were receiving treatment could have a place to stay close by if needed. My Mom needed that when she was alive.
My husband is quite talented as a tradesman and works for a local hardware store. Myself, I work with data for a worldwide medical equipment manufacturer.
While neither of us are native to North Carolina (Carson from Connecticut/New Mexico and myself from Saudi Arabia), we do love this area and all that it has to offer.
Why they chose this property
This property is so quaint and in such a wonderful neighborhood, we couldn't pass it up! We almost moved here ourselves! The location is wonderful and all of the urban parks make it as relaxing as can be yet still close to downtown and all of the great restaurants/shops/activities Durham has to offer.
What makes this property unique
Quiet street with beautiful yard close to golf, parks and trailways.
