The Views are Breathtakingly beautiful. From the spacious pool deck you can see the entire Bajia Banderas, from the Malecon to Los Arches. The Masterbed room looks over the Bay toward Puerto Vallarta. i enjoyed the spectacular New Year's eve fireworks from the king size bed, with a glass of Moet. And the pool is private...bathing attire not required. Enjoy the evenings cocktail and watch the sunset while floating in our salt water filtered pool. And yes, it is solar heated, so crank up the heat all you want without leaving an enviromental footprint.
The Villa was built in 1980 by the famous PV architect, Giermo Wulff. With high beamed ceilings, soaring windows with beveled glass and huge folding glass doors to the patios. It has been recently renovated, so all the floors and counters are granite. All the kitchen appliances are state of the art with a Viking gas stove. And a pass through counter to the pool deck making outside dining a pleasure.
The spacious living room enjoys the sweep around views and opens to two decks, one to the pool and the other to a smaller balcony where we enjoy breakfast. The bedroom are spacious and the ensuite bathrooms are granite.
We are located 10 minutes from the best part of PV, Old Town or also called, the Romantic Zone. And if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place for a vacation or to celebrate a special time in you lives, Villa Serena is here for you. The beach is a five minute walk down the hill. Also the adjourning resort has three restaurants open to the public, for breakfast lunch and diner.
Over the years we have had many happy guests please take a moment and read our reviews.
Occupancy is based on a maximin of one couple. The pool is solar heated and salt water. The rate quoted by VRBO is not always accurate due to their automated service. And also because we offer many extras for a fee like a cook, food stocking and airport arrival pick-up, in house massages. Maid service is once a week and additional days can be arranged for $25 a day, We will be available to discuss your personal needs and answer any questions, so contact us directly.

Super locale!

Our family very much enjoyed Villa Serena. Everything was as advertised and the place was very comfortable and very clean. The property manager, Elba, was also very accommodating in helping us with all our needs including setting us up for the best massages we have ever had! The view from the villa on December 31st was spectacular as the whole Baja de Banderas lit up with fireworks at midnight. We would recommend this villa to anyone.

Fabulous week at Villa Serena

Pictures do not do justice to this fabulous villa perched on a hillside at Garza Blanca Beach with a 270 degree view of Banderas Bay. Gorgeous living room, comfortable bedrooms with all the amenties, flawless wireless internet. Everything worked beautifully and the staff was attentive.The owners are a delight to work with. Our family had only one regret: we didn't stay longer.

The best!

Two weeks in paradise

You really won't want to leave the pool and deck overlooking the ocean. Comfortable and well equipped in every way. We didn't rent a car and found the buses were very easy to use to go downtown to eat and go grocery shopping. The one downside is that there are almost no restaurants or grocery shopping within walking distance, except for the restaurants (by the pool and inside) at Garza Blanca across the road. Beaches are marginal, but again, you won't want to leave the pool and deck. We ventured out to Mismaloya several times (great snorkeling, good beach and fun to watch the fishermen) and wished we had taken the boat to Yelapa (go to Mismaloya, the tours to other locations are cheaper than leaving from downtown). Everybody we worked with, from the owner, manager, housekeeper and pool guys, were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the roof of the property on the other side of the pool was being repaired the last two days we were there. We would definitely come back here again.

WOW!

Wow - is the only way to explain! This villa is truly beautiful and the views are incredible from every single room. We've been to Mexico many times - Cancun, Cozumel, Playa Del Carmen, Acapulco and we've always stayed in 5 star resorts - so we didn't know quite what to expect staying in a private villa. Our 13 year old daughter brought a friend and the girls SO enjoyed having their own bedroom suite and the privacy of the pool. They swam all the time - when we weren't at the beach. It is quite a hike back from the beach - especially after a long day when you're hot and have lots of things to carry back - one day we actually had a taxi take us back up the hill! Best $3.00 I've ever spent! The beach is beautiful and the girls snorkeled every day! The water is clear and beautiful.....Elba was so helpful and the food that was prepared for us when we arrived was delicious. I would absolutely recommend this villa for a wonderful trip!

Wow! is well put. We refer to Villa Serena as a 5 Star Villa because that is the level of service we offer. Our manager Elba is devoted to taking care of your every needs and the office and staff are truly friendly and helpful. Some have worked here for 30 years. Our Garza Blanca beach is one of the few ECO rated beaches in Mexico it is always clean and no boats are allowed so the water is clear. The surf is gentle and the sand is like soft baby powder. The walk back up the hill at the end of the day can be a challenge and taking a cab for $3 was brilliant. And it is a small price to pay for our spectacular views. Many a film crew has made videos from our decks. We have been told that we have the best views of Puerto Vallarta and Banderias Bay. Thank you for your comment on the food I will pass that on the Efi, the cook.

Beautiful but not relaxing. Couldn't hear myself think.

First off, this place is gorgeous....really. The villa itself is pure luxury. Beds are amazing. Everything is very comfortable. The view is amazing. Now, the bad parts. It's EXTREMELY NOISY. It is located above the the main highway out of PV and the traffic noise travels right up to the villa, although this by itself is no big deal. However, second major noise was the beach 1/4 mile down the road. It has a big soundstage and they played very loud Mexican music (polka, top 40 in spanish and english, mexican top hits, etc) all day from 10:00am until 7:00 or 8:00pm. I don't know if it was because it was holiday week or what, but the music amplified off the water and was like the stage was right in front of you. 3rd noise was the jack hammer right below the villa on the road from Monday to Friday, all day long. They were fixing some sewer. 4th noise was the construction in the complex next door with the trucks beeping as they went into reverse (you know the sound). 5th noise was the screeching cat fights 3 nights in a row. It was all I could do to stand it. We left most days during the day just to escape it. Thank god it didn't go on into the night (except the cat fights). We were totally nerved out by the end of the day and as soon as the music would go off, my husband and I would look at eachother like...."ahh, Thank God." One other thing to note is the parking situation, it is apparantly not "assigned" as we assumed the spot in front of the villa was for our use. We were either blocked in or blocked out every other day. We had to go knock on doors to find who's car was blocking ours 3 times! So we eventually just parked down in the communal area and walked up. There are a lot of very steep stairs, which didn't bother us as we are in good shape but you should be aware. Take note that the office is often closed for short period when the manager goes to town (bank or whatever). We did use the cook twice and wished we hadn't. If there are 4 of you or more it might be a good price for what you get, but $90 for two people for a simple (although good) chicken meal seems like a lot to me. The restaurant across the street is less than that and VERY good. So, if you go with this place, I'd ask the owner about the noise before you go, particularly the music. The owners seem very nice and are available by phone if you need them ..We didn't contact the owner to do anything about the noise, because really, what could they do?

Kelly stayed at Villa Serena over Spring Break Vacation time. We told her it would be the busiest week of the year. And it was. Unfortunately, a local DJ radio station put up sound stage without permission and disturbed the entire, usually peaceful residential neighborhood. Electronic equipment, including boom boxes, are now banned officially from our beach because of that specific incidence and it is enforced. I did not realize she had a problem until I read the review that was posted 4 months after the visit. If I knew I would have offered a free week so she could realize what an actual Villa Serena vacation is about. We are truly sorry about it what happened during Kelly's stay. It never happened in the past and our guests rave about how peaceful it is here, the only complaint being that they had to leave. As for the cook, she charges $25 to cook, the rest of Kelly's money went to food and beverages for her stay. Please read alI other reviews, our guests rave about our very special Villa and we are dedicated to taking care of you.

Amazing gem in Puerto Vallarta

We have been raving about this property since we came home! The communication with the owner leading up to our trip was wonderful and we knew we would be in good hands with Elba. We arrived to an amazing dinner and margaritas, and the other two meals Elba made for us were just as amazing! It was so convenient to have groceries in the villa before we got there and we never needed anything else. Breathtaking views from every window, gorgeous outdoor space and nice warm pool we used constantly, plenty of space inside…everything you could need is here! We even got massages on one of the days, which was a fun bonus. Easy drive into the city and taxis are readily available via phone. We’ll definitely be back!

A gorgeous spot

The pictures don’t do this beautiful home justice. The views are spectacular and the home is comfortable, very clean and very well appointed. The owners were very easy to deal with and the pool people/maids/manager were also top notch. We had a wonderful holiday and are already missing our view, the pool, and the beautiful vacation.

We had amazing two weeks. Everything was as described. The owner ensured we were welcomed from the moment we stepped inside the house. Elba, the property manager is incredible and we have made friends for life. The view one gets from this villa is out of this world. Simply put - amazingly beautiful.

An incredible villa with a breathtaking view.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Serena. We arranged for dinner in our first night and Janet arranged for the fridge to be stocked which we highly recommend. The whales put on quite a show while we were there. The villa is designed to capture gentle sea breezes and the view is spectacular from every vantage point. Day trips to Jelapa, Mismaloya and PV were easy - buses run frequently and stop outside the villa. When we weren’t in the pool, we used the public beaches which are about a five minute walk away and preferred the one to the right. Janet was great to deal with and Elba made us feel very welcome. This property will not disappoint!

Villa Serena is a private retreat - you won’t want to leave!

Unbelievable views, beautifully furnished, safe and completely private. Have all of the luxuries you enjoy without having to share with anyone! Old world Mexico with all of the modern comforts. Close enough to town and amenities that you can experience them but then quickly escape back your private villa. Or maybe just stay in for the day! We had a wonderful time disconnecting from our busy work life and reconnecting with each other. Imagine an evening swim in the private pool looking at the stars and fireworks over the city. Perfect! Imagine your morning coffee with the birds starting the day from the jungle to the ocean; parrots, magnificent frigatebird, pelicans - all from your breezy master bedroom opening onto the deck! Xanadu! Janet is wonderful host and has an excellent team to help make your stay, truly, a dream! Thank you!!

Absolutely breathtaking views!

This property is perfect for a family of 4! We had 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms, with plenty of space to lounge indoors and out. The pool was a big hit for the kids, dad loved to sit outside (mountain-side) and watch the tropical birds fly almost at eye level, and I loved the window by the kitchen sink that opened to give me views of the ocean. The water pressure was nice and strong in the showers, and the house looked exactly as presented. We never saw a mosquito and never needed air conditioning! Housekeeping was great as well! Location was perfect - we could call for a cab or walk downstairs and grab the bus into town (which the kids loved!). We were close to the zoo, the botanic gardens, the beach was right across the street, and town was 10 minutes away. We usually hit the beach in the morning and strolled the malecon at sunset. We are looking forward to visiting again next year, this place is a gem! Thank you Janet for all your help with my questions, it was geniunely the perfect vacation!

Paradise

It started as a girlfriend vacation and it turned put to be THE PERFECT VACATION!!!!! We did nothing but relax and enjoy the beautiful house and it's surroundings!!!! No words can tell the beauty around the villa and the villa itself, we had so much fun and really that it's what we intended to do it all along! Thank you Janet, for letting us enjoy your house and by doing that we got to see and discover beautiful Vallarta!!!!! Serenety, Privacy, Spectacular Views, Comfort, & Swimming Pool - What More Could We Have Asked For?

My family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) spent 2 weeks at this home in late July/early August. From the moment we entered, we were struck by the beautiful interior decor and spectacular views of the ocean, beaches, and Los Arcos rock formations. Upon our arrival, we enjoyed a great meal that was prepared for us and took a dip in the swimming pool, which is just the right size for us. Our family enjoyed many peaceful hours cooling off in the pool while chatting about our challenges and dreams for the future. Removed from the routines and distractions of everyday life, we grew progressively closer during our time in Puerto Vallarta. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet, and the air conditioning kept the rooms cool. We were careful to minimize AC use to save energy, and still remained comfortable throughout our stay. The only minimal setback I can claim is that the internet service is a bit slow, so that the cable television can be unsteady, and the telephone in the unit did not function (due to an unhealthy monopoly on phone service in PV). During the first 10 days of our stay in Puerto Vallarta, we did not have a car and relied on the local buses. This was a great decision, because the buses into town and to southern points (e.g., Mismaloya and the botanical gardens) are very convenient. We enjoyed being with the locals and hearing them chat among themselves. We picked up a rental car late in our vacation and visited a beautiful silver mining village in the mountains (300 year old San Sebastian del Oeste) and a charming beach town (Sayulita). If you are searching for a peaceful and private place to spend with your family or loved ones, then I don't think you will be disappointed with this unit. Our time there will be a cherished memory for my family for many years to come.

BEST Vacation EVER!!

Even with the awesome pictures, the first reaction we had when we arrived at the Villa was WOW!!! Now that we got back home, we are still reminiscing about our trip and our stay at your home. We already want to go back. I cannot express enough all of the joy and fun we had in Puerto Vallarta. It was truly OUR BEST VACATION EVER!!! We never ever got tired of the view from your villa. We were constantly sitting out on the patio, either with coffee in the morning or an evening meal or having cocktails at night. Honestly we felt like it was the best vantage point in all of Puerto Vallarta to take in all it's beauty. At night you could even hear some of the tropical birds chirping away. Very cool. Our friends couldn't believe how awesome the villa looked. The whole entire experience was just wonderful! Not to mention the food prepared by Effie and her daughter was just absolutely delicious…. (we ordered way too much, but we couldn’t help ourselves). We also did the zip line from Los Veranos. Wow, what an adrenaline rush and big highlight. We also rented a jeep for the whole week and it was well worth it. And everyone was so nice, including the locals. Elba took care of any questions we had and was always there if we needed her. She recommended a local place to eat a mile or so down the coast called Lindo Mar. So good....I think we ate there 4 times during the week. Their margaritas were the best and you could watch pelicans dive into the water for fish right beyond your oceanside table. We were able to go onto the Gaza Blanco beach without a problem. The ocean was like warm bath water. Beautiful. All in all, this vacation was our best trip ever. You will definitely not be disappointed! We definitely want to go back again!!!! Muchas Gracias!!!!

Million Dollar Villa / View

Better than a five star. There are incredible views from every room be it either Banderas Bay or the jungle. The rooms are appointed beautifully and every comfort is met. The kitchen was very well equipped, master bedroom is large and king size bed comfortable. Second bedroom also large and nicely appointed. Bathrooms were great. It was great having a swimming pool all to ourselves and we used it daily. The office staff there was polite and very helpful. Beaches were wonderful, clean soft sand with clear water. The only problem was the Garza Blanca Resort stopped offering day passes so we would swim at the public beach which has a better beach for swimming. There you could rent table, chairs and umbrella very reasonably. You catch the bus right in front of the property to go into town. Would return in a heartbeat.

We do try to make sure all of our guests have what they need and expect for a first class vacation experience. Glad you were able to appreciate our efforts. Also happy that our staff took good care of you. Their mantra is "Don't worry be Happy". We were surprised to hear that the Garza Blanca Resort did not offer day passes. We called the resort to find out why and we were told that the hotel was 100% full and they could not offer the quality of service needed and so they eliminated the Day Pass for the period of time you were at our Villa. Please note for your next visit, the beach is open to the public and we have beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. available for you to use. The Resort pool bar and restaurant is also open to the public. One of our guests told us that after a day at the beach and some margaritas, she returned to the Villa by cab for $4. It was worth the fare since as you know it is an easy walk down but not so easy going back up after all that sun and fun. We do hope you return and I will personally provide you with two day passes to the Resort.

Paradise in Puerto Vallarta

No other words can express our experience but amazing! Absolutely beautiful villa providing more than you could ever want. The staff is extremely warm, friendly and very helpful with any questions you may have. The moment we arrived there were fresh fajitas and margaritas being prepared. To be able to sit poolside in the evenings and hear the ociean and amazing views during the day is all that a person can ask for. Transportation both north and south of the villa was extremely easy each time we desired to go exploring. All I can say is Janet, thank you for allowing us to share your amazing place. This made a great birthday celebration for us! I hope you will welcome us back in the near future!

The ONLY place to stay in Puerto Vallarta!!!!

My in-laws, husband and I spent a week in this fabulous villa. The rooms are well proportioned and we all had plenty of space. The kitchen has everything you'll need to cook at home. The views are to die for and the pool was magnificent! We called the villa our "little nest" as you're propped on the most perfect hillside with the most picturesque sites from every room. We were thrilled to have the chefs cook for us one evening and HIGHLY recommend it. We're still talking about the meal! The Garza Blanca beach is within a 5 minute walk and so quiet and serene. Janet was incredibly helpful during our planning and was always prompt and thorough with her responses. We were sad to leave Villa Vista Serena and hope to come back in the future.

Rock Star Villa !

Villa Serena is everything it's advertised to be, and more. If you dream of moving to Mexico, this is the perfect place that dreams are made of. The view alone is worth the trip. Every room has a picture perfect view. There are 2 different balconies to choose from depending on your mood. We spent a lot of time in the private pool. This Villa is the most private in the compound. It sits on the very top of the hill looking down on everything. Typically you would have to climb several steps to reach a Villa like this, but here you can park right outside the front door. The short walk to the beach is a huge bonus. Playa Garza Blanca is one of the best beaches I have ever been to in Mexico, clear water, and calm surf made it perfect to float, or swim in. Not to mention the white sand beach, which is rare in Mexico. The only complaint is, it was very hard to leave. We can't wait to go back, and stay longer. Take advantage of the personal Chef service. When we arrived, lunch was waiting for us on our private terrace, as well as a freshly made pitcher of Margaritas. If your headed to Puerto Vallarta, this is the place to rent. It's the rent of a life time. Go live the Rock Star life at Villa Serena, you will never forget it.

Dream Villa

I must say this home is everything promised and more. After a slight bumble trying to get into the villa [user error :( ] we entered and got settled into the pool & a cool margarita. This is the 1st time we have opted to stay somewhere other than a resort and we would definitely go here again. The home is clean, well stocked with basic utensils and such, and sits in one of the most beautiful spots on the coast. There was only 2 of us so we had WAY more space than necessary and with 4 people [2 couples] there would still be plenty of room. This will be on our list for our next trip to PV for sure.

Amzing luxury villa

We had great vacation. The location is perfect: far away from the city (crowded and so noisy), so much greenery around, beaches, ocean, etc. Before we came we read the review for the noise but really that’s not true. You permanently hear the birds and the ocean. There is no noise, it’s extremely relaxed. The villa itself is really five star. All the pictures are real. You have everything you need, the view is unforgettable, and you see permanently the ocean – from the pool, from the bedroom and your bed too, from the large living room, everywhere. It’s extremely private. The villa has the best location within the complex, you can be naked all the day at the pool and the patio without bothering the neighbors. The service is perfect, the owner is very great and helpful, the local people too. If you need relax and privacy – this is your place. Yes, you should pay 8 bucks for the taxi to go to the city but that’s the price of the privacy, being far away from the crowd. If you need restaurant you can go to the city but if you prefer to stay home you have a nice kitchen to prepare some delicious meal and to enjoy the ocean view or a chef to cook for you. Really great vacation. Thanks Janet. We’re definitely going to come back regularly.

This review has captured Villa Serena's magic! The pretty yellow birds will wake you up in the morning. For some reason they like to congregate on our railings and call out to each other. And at night the ocean and the surf will lull you to sleep. Days go by before you may want to take the short cab ride to Old Town, PV and be happy to get back to your very private pool for sunset cocktails. Villa Serena is special, our views are so spectacular that film crews have made vides from our decks to promote Puerto Vallarta. Exceptional!!

This House exceeded our expectations!… It was very clean, updated, comfortable, unique and most of all incredibly private. Everything you need is all there. The owners were delightful to work with as well as the house-manager. The pool and patio was amazing… We hope to be back, but if not, this house will be our standard of measurement to the next one we rent.
