The Iron Door Cabin is a tribute to a fabled treasure buried high in a cave in the Wichita Mountains. Belle Starr and her gang were said to have hidden a vast amounts of gold in a cave and covered the opening with an iron door from a railroad car. Sightings of the door stretch back over a hundred years. Will you find these legendary riches?
The Lazy Buffalo has 13 individually themed cabins and a Bunkhouse. Each is uniquely decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown.
The Iron Door Cabin has a spacious king size bed with a walk-in tiled shower. Barn wood, knotty pine, and corrugated tin are used throughout this spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant vibe.
The kitchenette area has a mini fridge and microwave along with table and chairs. Catch the latest Netflix show from the comfy loveseat or sip on a cup of coffee from the front porch. Watch as the sunsets on the plains, southwest Oklahoma Sunsets are truly amazing.
Enjoy a picnic in our outdoor pavilion area complete with charcoal Grill. When it gets dark, roast marshmallows at the fire pit or relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.
Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes, throwing Frisbees at disc golf, playing old fashion board games from the front porch, and creating music in nature at the interactive Music Wall. Don't forget to snap memories at our themed photo ops.
Because we get to host lots of hunters and fishermen, we wanted to provide these guests extra convenience by providing an outdoor fish and small game cleaning station which is located between our bunkhouse and cabins.
