Deer Lake State Park, directly in between Watersound beach and Watersound West beach, is the closest public beach access and it is .6 of a mile on 30A heading West from our home. It is an easy bike ride to get there, or if you drive, they have parking. There is a .2 mile walkover through the protected dunes from the parking lot to the beach. The park has picnic pavilion and restrooms. A small entrance fee of either $2/person or $3/car is collected on the honor system. Annual passes may also be purchased.

The closest Walton County facilities are the Gulf Lakes public beach access in Seacrest (about 1 mile away, has bike rack) and Santa Clara beach access in Seagrove (about 2 miles away, has parking and restrooms).
