Our family traveled from all over the US to meet in Alaska for our parent's 60th anniversary. They loved the home and chose the main level bedroom with adjacent full bath & steam shower (which they said made them feel pampered). This was one of 3 homes we rented & my husband & I stayed here as well on the upper level with other family members coming and going and some staying at various times in the bunk room on the lower level.
Great location with easy access to the cute town of Girdwood with it's cute shops and The Grind coffee shop which we frequented. It's easy enough to walk to and takes about 10-15 minutes to do so. You can also chose a longer walk up to the Alyeska resort where there are more gorgeous views and another coffee shop (do you see a theme here? ;-).
This place had everything we needed, super responsive hosts and the most peaceful setting with a bubbling brook right right alongside. We spent quite a bit of time just sitting on the deck enjoying that sound and the forest that snugged right up to the house.
There were lots of items left by other guests (and perhaps some by the hosts) such as spices, honey, tea, etc. You may want to check the supply before you decide to buy anything of a non-perishable nature as it may already be there.
Crow Creek Mercantile is a quaint general store in Girdwood where you can surprisingly get a lot of items that I hadn't anticipated finding. My Dad's favorite Oregon Chai mix for example.
We'd definitely stay here again and are already talking about our next trip.
