We had a great stay! Very well-stocked kitchen, clean house, comfy beds and great hot tub. We were provided everything we needed and had good communication with the owner. Girdwood is beautiful and we enjoyed our time there immensely!
This is an incredible property with great hosts. We stayed for our annual “friends trip”. The place is very clean and stocked well with linens and towels. Check in was very easy and the location is perfect!
We enjoyed staying at this property for a relaxing weekend getaway with friends. The house was spotless, the hot tub was wonderful and there was everything needed to make ourselves at home. I found additional fees added at the time of booking to be confusing and surprising, but it appears that the homeowner is working to resolve this.

It appears Claire enjoyed the house so we are surprised by the three star review.
Claire contacted me regarding pricing and self admitted that she didn't review the final price before she hit the submit button and booked the property. She was subsequently looking for a reduction in the rate from me. I always try and help guests and I refunded her a sizeable percentage even though she was responsible for the cost in question.
I understand that mistakes can be made, thus my willingness to help where I can. However the three star review doesn't seem warranted as we provided her a large refund for her mistake and she had no apparent issues with the home.
I recently stayed at the Timberline Treehouse Chalet, and it was an amazing experience! The chalet was beautifully designed, blending rustic charm with modern amenities. The hot tub was a definite highlight, providing a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. The chalet was clean, well-equipped, and offered stunning views. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a cozy getaway in nature.
House was exactly as pictured, exceptionally clean upon arrival, and fully stocked with amenities to get our family through an entire week. Hot tub was a family favorite after a day of exploring. Shades were dark in bedrooms to make sleeping easy with kids who aren’t used to Alaska summer light at nighttime. Communication with host was immediate and fast. Couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. Would stay here again and recommend to future travelers.
This is my favorite place to stay in Girdwood. Have stayed here several times, and this was my second time renting the property. Communication with the owners is excellent. They communicate often and clearly. The property is always spotless and everything works. The check in process is very simple. It's a beautiful property with lots of room for several people, it's cozy and comfy. I will be renting this one again!
What a great oasis for our group of family and visitors. As we explored Girdwood and Whittier for the weekend, we enjoyed all our time relaxing between adventures in this cozy home.
It had everything we needed and more. All the details have been addressed, like the kitchen, which has so many spices!
The house is bright and spacious. We truly enjoyed the peaceful vibes in the neighborhood and the hot tub.
If you have a big group and need lots of beds and space, this place exceeds your expectations.
The property was as listed, and the owner is in process of additional updating of appliances and heating system. All was shared ahead of our stay so very appreciative of "no surprises" and how the host made a counter microwave was provided (to replace the combo one recently broke) or ice making (likewise recent break, and in process of replacing refrigerator. The hot tub was amazing and definitely the highlight of the property along with plenty of extra bedding, wood burning fireplace and great washer /dryer.This is a property where the owner truly cares about his VRBO customers and that they have a positive, no surprise experience!
This is our 2nd time staying at this house. We loved our stay the first time and found the house to be rather cozy. As pleasant as it could be are stay was short and lacking in a few things. The first bedroom on the right has a ticking heater, and if you are a light sleeper as i am it will keep you up all night. IF that doesn't keep you up , the snow sheding of the roof like a cannon might. This didn't happen our first stay, But it is down right loud and hard to sleep when it is happening. Love the house just hard to get restful sleep .

During Sarah's stay we had winter weather and since it was in December in Alaska that's not too much of a surprise. Sarah told me that her and her family were unable to make it to the property the first night due to weather issues so I voluntarily, without her requesting, refunded half of her first nights stay. Although the highway to Girdwood was open and traffic flowed all night I was doing my best to help her out with her party's inability to make the drive.
Regarding the ticking noise she heard from the heater it's important to point out that she's referring to the electric baseboard heaters that are present in each bedroom. These are provided by design so that each bedroom has individual climate control. All baseboard heaters that have ever been manufactured make a slight noise as they heat up due to thermal expansion. The noises my heaters make are not louder than any other heater. She could have turned off the heaters and used the natural gas heater in the main room just outside the bedroom door but she didn't contact me at all about this issue so that I could assist her.
Regarding the roof shedding she's describing I personally live in this house. Often through the winter and occasionally, during wet snow or warming events, due to gravity the snow does release from the roof and make a noise as it hits the ground or the shed's roof out back. The house is located in a ski town that receives a large amount of snowfall every year (this is why the skiing is so good) and the roof must shed or it would be unsafe and possibly collapse.
Bottom line is that I was proactive with refunding her a significant amount of money even before she left a three star review. Additionally I wasn't contacted about these issues during her stay and therefore unable to help.
Great property in the heart of Girdwood. Living room is comfortable with great views of the mountains, at least as nice as the photos. Plenty of beds for our family of five, and the air conditioner in the loft keeps that space cool on warm days. High quality appliances and good drinking water right out of the tap. Well stocked with basics like dishes, towels, coffee filters, dish soap, etc. If you’re not picky, there is plenty of coffee in the cupboard, and several canisters of bear spray in the house, so you can might be able to save 50 on that. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the showers. Teens loved the hot tub. It’s about 3/4 mile from the house to downtown Girdwood, and the Girdwood Brewing Company is about 1/2 mile away. There’s a great trail along Alyeska Highway if you want to walk/run/bike, and it feels safe during the daylight. We didn’t spend much time in Girdwood, but this was a great home base for our adventures on the Kenai peninsula. I’d stay here again, and the only thing I’d do different is to bring eye masks for anyone sleeping in the loft during the summer (a lot of windows and a lot of daylight).
We were unable to get check in information from the property owner until just hours before check in only after I had to contact VRBO support. Upon arrival we found cation tape wrapped around a falling front porch. Upon entering the cabin we were highly disappointed in the cleanliness of the property but again we were unable to reach property owner. We decided to stay because I was unsure I could secure any type of refund. Although the location was lovely the cabin was filthy. We found dirty pots and pans incrusted with food. We had to wash all dishes and cutlery before using them. The floors were filthy.
Cozy home tucked into the spruce tree covered hillside. Great location, convenient to all things Alyeska. Clean and comfortable. Would not hesitate to book again.
Check in was a breeze, accommodations were nice and fully stocked with supplies, and the best part was the hot tub at the end of a long day of mountain climbing! I highly recommend this place!
Thank you so much!

This is our third time staying at this property! Everything is great about it! Great for a large family or several couples! Very clean, stocked kitchen, great coffee! My favorite is the hot tub:)
Very nice property in a great location! Walking distance to the Girdwood brewery was an added perk :). Owners keep the house in great condition and are easy to reach if you need to We we’re impressed that they even had portable AC units for the top two floors. Probably only need them a couple weeks out of the year, but we were there one of those weeks and were so happy they had thought of that! Thank you for a great stay!
