About this property
Unique and cozy 4 bedroom home in Girdwood with hot tub!
Welcome to our beautiful home located on the sunny side of Girdwood. We get plenty of morning and afternoon sunlight with floor to ceiling windows on the main floor. We have ample space for larger groups with four bedrooms and a hot tub that seats 6.
Girdwood is a mountain town with outdoor activities like skiing at Mt Alyeska in the winter and hiking and biking and so much more in the summer. Girdwood also boasts delicious restaurants, locally owned shops, a local brewery, and Alyeska Resort.
The house is two stories with a loft. Master bedroom (king bed) and another bedroom (queen bed) located on the first floor. There is also a large shower located between the two bedrooms on the first floor.
Second floor has kitchen, living room and two more bedrooms, one with bunk beds and the other has a full bed. Floor to ceiling windows on the second floor face south to let in plenty of light year round.
The loft overlooks the main floor and has an electric keyboard, a desk, the option to use an air bed. Semi private
Room for 4 cars in the driveway. 2 exterior motion sensor lights/cameras allow for easy entry at any time of the day/night. Guests will be given a code to unlock the front door on the day of their arrival, no need to look for hidden keys or deal with lock boxes
We have lived in girdwood for 20 years and are always happy to share our local knowledge (trails, adventures, restaurants, etc) with our guests. However everything is set up for our guests to use the house without needing any contact with us during their stay if they prefer
Our house sits at the corner of Alyeska Highway and Monarch Mine Rd. Two paved bike/walking trails start just beyond the driveway. One runs 15 miles along the turnagain arm, offering stunning panoramic views of the mountains above Girdwood as well views of the turnagain arm, a unique body of water that flows out to the Gulf of Alaska and boasts extreme tide changes and wildlife viewing. Take the bike/walking path in the other direction and you will be in the middle of downtown Girdwood within 2 miles. Restaurants, shops, and the brewery all await. Another mile up the bike path and you have arrived at the base of Mt Alyeska, home to the best skiing in all of Alaska (and a great place to hike in the summer as well).
The Historic Iditarod Trail also starts less than a quarter mile from our house. The path is nicely maintained and runs along glacier creek for about two miles into the heart of downtown girdwood. A nice quiet beautiful back way in to the main part of town
