Prioritize your comfort at a hidden gem nestled in the trees of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Renovated in March of 2025, this comfortable house boasts views of the mountains from the deck and patio, a full kitchen with a countertop bar, an open living room with a remote control gas fireplace and plenty of space for 6 people to relax comfortably.

This mountain escape includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The main floor features a full kitchen with a large countertop bar, comfortable living room, and dining room perfect for those dinners on the mountain. The daylight basement has a separate living room including a tv (great for kids!) along with a bedroom, efficiency kitchen, and bathroom. It also boasts its own private deck. This quiet, private neighborhood is a peaceful retreat where you can enjoy the sounds of the mountain, including the spring fed creek on the edge of the property.

If staying in is your thing, the 400mb/sec+ internet speeds means streaming your favorite TV show while working won't be a problem.

Relax in the cabin or around the firepit on the patio before making the short, 10-15 minute drive to downtown Waynesville for shopping or dinner. There are plenty of exciting attractions within a 30 minute drive if you want to adventure out including the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cataloochee Ski Resort and Ranch, The Wheels of Time Museum, Lake Junaluska, and even Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Dogs are allowed with a single pet fee of $44 for up to 4 dogs.

The host sent us an access code earlier in the week. The day before the trip he sent us another code and then Vrbo sent us access third code. Neither of the codes sent the day before the trip worked. We spent over half an hour trying to get in. I remembered the original code, and it worked. I've never stayed at a location where we were asked to start washer with towels before we left. Also asked to wash dishes by hand and put back where we got them. Didn't use the hard to access downstairs bedroom, which was next to the HVAC system and extremely loud. Mattresses on all the beds were old, lumpy, and VERY uncomfortable. We also were not warned about the dangerously narrow and dark road full of switchback and hairpin curves up to the house.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. I’m sorry for the confusion with the keypad lock. When you called on the day of arrival I answered immediately & remotely unlocked the door. During our call, we confirmed the lock worked properly after following the welcome email instructions, including pressing the blue house button before entering the code. For checkout we ask all guests to start a load of towels to help the cleaning team work efficiently, important during the busy fall season. A dishwasher is available for dishes & house guidelines ask guests to clean any cookware & kitchen items used during their stay. The downstairs bedroom & full bathroom are in the daylight basement & are easily accessible by stairs. Many guests appreciate the added privacy of that level, though I understand HVAC noise sensitivity varies from person to person. I'm also sorry you found the mattresses uncomfortable. Mattress preferences are very personal. What works well for one guest may not for another. Finally, Cozy Mountain Escape is located in the mountains, as noted in the listing title and description. Mountain roads naturally include curves & elevation changes. The route to the home has guardrails on the steepest sections similar to other scenic mountain roads like the Blue Ridge Parkway. I appreciate your stay & your feedback, it helps me continue improving the guest experience. Safe travels in the future.

On this property you have to start with the host Steven. I have experienced both good and bad hosts, and Steven is the best of the best (communication, flexibility, responsiveness, and all the traits you want in a host. The property itself is also a winner. At 3,500 ft elevation, you get the cool air without a lot of humidity. It is located in a rainforest, and the back porch and view are excellent. The house itself is as described, so if you like the pictures you should like the house. An extra benefit is weekly trash pickup at the house instead of driving to a convenience center miles away. Nice house!

Host was available right away to give us the access code, as VRBO had sent us the wrong code. Really enjoyed the beautiful sunset views from the wrap around deck which was perfect for our dogs. The house is very nice on the inside, except for the stove which had melted plastic on one of the burners. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and even saw a deer on the property.

Grandkids 1st mountain stay!

Great place for all ages! Got a true mountain experience for the grandkids. We roasted marshmallows at the fire pit and they all loved the little creek behind it! Had everything we needed.

Weekend getaway

We arrived Friday evening and left Sunday morning. The home was perfect and relaxing and we spent a lot of time on the back porch taking in the views. Saturday we walked around Lake Junaluska and explored downtown Waynesville, both minutes away. Everything in the home was clean and cozy and we appreciated the updated open living space. We look forward to staying here again in the future, hopefully for longer, since there is so much to do and see in the area.

North Carolina mtns

Nice property well keep, owner available to answer questions. We originally planned on staying 2 weeks but decided to stay an extra week. If you like the mtns you will like this view, while the drive up was a challenge after a day or two it became very manageable.

Perfect weekend getaway

I brought my family to the mountains for the weekend. Excellent location we were able to shop, dine and spend a day on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The home is family and pet friendly. We spent one evening playing games and roasting marshmallows by the the fire-pit. They supply everything you need minus toiletries. The home has a beautiful view of the sunset off the top porch which I loved. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful Mountain Retreat!

Over the river and through the woods and up to gorgeous views! This property has been thoroughly renovated on the main floor with a well appointed kitchen, inviting living room space, wrap around porch, Fire pit area, and two comfortable beds and baths. Conveniently located near Waynesville, we enjoyed the downtown area with its restaurants and shops. Rode on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Visited Asheville. But more importantly, spent quality time as a family!The owner was super responsive when the access code provided via VRBO was inaccurate. The only nonissue was that no one wanted to stay in the downstairs bedroom suite. The pictures are accurate. We just didn't realize it was connected to partially finished basement space. More family togetherness! Would stay there again for sure!

I visited the NC mountains for the first time in the mid-90s and was immediately hooked. As an avid mountain biker and hiker the area offers many great trails and plenty of local breweries to enjoy a cold snack afterwards.

I've been fortunate enough to share my piece of the mountains with guests as an airbnb/VRBO host since 2013.

I fell in love with this house the moment I stepped onto the deck, seeing the long range view and hearing the creek on the property's edge burbling in the background. The sunsets rarely disappoint, inviting you to take a break with your beverage of choise to enjoy the colors and the tranquility of the mountain.
