Very private, nice location, kichen is over packed with everything that you need for you stay.Nice and comfortable furniture the owners were thinking about everything that you needed .We really enjoyed our stay! It was home away from home Wewiswcould stay longer
Very clean, lovely cabin- right off the interstate so a bit of a drive to anything. No trash service at all- you have to take your own trash to the dump- which is closed on Sunday- be warned if you are a weekend guest with pets. Cabin itself is excellent, plenty of supplies and great views, peaceful area excellent for relaxing.
We had an wonderful relaxing getaway with our long time friends! The Propery manager was SUPER to work with...had a few questions on how Helene had affected thing! The town was incredibly welcoming!
My family came to Waynesville for a wedding but we decided to stay a week and make the most of the area. The cabin was a perfect place for my family and pups and like so many others said, it was well stocked. There was nothing I needed that wasn’t in that cabin. The neighborhood was nice too and my kids loved the donkey at the gate of the community. Overall, the cabin was perfect for us and exactly what we needed. If we ever come back down, we’d definitely choose to stay here again.
This cabin is beautiful! The cleanliness was the best we have ever seen! The house had everything we needed and more. The porch was so relaxing!!! Comfy beds, great decor and furniture. The only feedback would be the porch doesnt have a gate for four legged members of the family so be sure to bring a baby gate or something to block that exit point.
A great, warm, cozy little cabin that was the perfect size for a family of 4 plus 2 dogs. Very pet friendly with the fenced backyard. The location was central to many hiking destinations as well as Catalochee ski area. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again. A gate would be a great addition to the front porch to keep in pets and small children. Thank you for the perfect winter getaway!
Superclean home in a great wooded setting. Had everything we needed. All we brought was food. Private firepit area in back with fenced in yard which was perfect for our 2 small pugs. No maintenance issues at all. 5star.
The house was perfect. Well equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Up to date modern appliances. Master bath was large and very clean. Could use a porch gate if you have a pet otherwise you will need to improvise to keep your pet on the big wrap around porch. Back area where fire pit is located is fenced so no worries about your pet leaving.
Sparkling clean, maintained and stocked. Close to Maggie Valley. Loved the floorplan and deck with corn hole and connect four. Houses around but still private. We loved the sweet donkey at the entrance. He greeted us everytime. We wished the Wi-Fi was stronger. Couldn’t make calls or watch TV but house was stocked with tons of DVDs. The sweet ornament was appreciated and will be a memory to last a lifetime. Love this place!!!
My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend stay at this cabin. It was extremely clean and so comfortably furnished that it truly felt like "home" after a day of hiking and adventuring. The kitchen was well stocked and was a great space for us to cook in. The location of the cabin was perfect for our trips to Pisgah National Forest, Catalouchee Valley, and Maggie Valley. We love traveling with our pet and appreciated the ease of bringing her along on this trip. The drive into this secluded mountain neighborhood and cabin was surely exciting for this Michigan native, but my AWD SUV handled the steep mountain and driveway just fine and it got easier each time. The cabin was felt very private despite being close to two other homes. We hope to return one day to explore more waterfalls in the area. Highly recommend!
We stayed at this log cabin with our dog for four nights. I probably wouldn't choose to stay here again, but mostly due to personal preferences. The pros: the cabin is very spacious with nice, comfortable places to gather. We enjoyed playing the provided board games and the gas fireplace. The property is quite private, surrounded by trees, with birds flittering about and fresh clean mountain air. The queen bed in the second bedroom was very comfortable (nice and firm). Folks who like a very soft bed will love the King bed in the master. Both bathrooms were very nice. Good coffee options with a drip and a Keurig.
The cons: Although the kitchen is large, it is mostly stocked with cheap teflon pots and pans. I'd have brought our own if I'd known. There rest of the provided supplies were fine though. We were there in October, during absolutely gorgeous sunny fall weather, but there was nowhere on the property to sit and enjoy the sun at any time during the day. The shape of the house and the steep and deep covered porches make everything inside and outside the house very dark (at least in mid-October). The backyard was completely shady all day and is the size of a small courtyard with mostly gravel and a very small section of grass along the edge. Sitting up above one of the main gravel roads in the community, the traffic noise was considerable as more people came up for the weekend.
The hosts were always quick to respond and made the check-in and check-out process very easy.
The Lazy Moose is a great cabin & literally on a mountain! It has a steep driveway and that can be scary the first time up and down the mountain but my front wheel drive handled it fine (late March). The wrap around porch had very comfy rockers to observe the surroundings in style. The firepit had big Adirondack chairs and plenty of firewood for nightly s’mores and time together under the stars. My dog loved running around the porch and back fenced in yard. We did use the connect four game to block off the porch for his security.
The kitchen and bathrooms were big and well appointed; everything was so clean. We enjoyed meals around the table together. The gas fireplace was easy to operate and so pretty. The moose were all around in the decor and some bears too!
It was so peaceful to wake up in the dark (good shades and curtains to block out light) and then open everything up to the beauty of the mountains. Day trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska were all easy to get to and nice places to visit.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book here-the only 4 star I listed was because I got an email the day of stay at 1pm to tell me what to do. That’s a bit late to me. By that time of day, we had been on the road a while and if I didn’t have a good data plan, I’d be worried about not receiving that message.
I told friends and family about this gem and intend to go back! I’m very grateful to have spent a wonderful week at this lovely cabin.
Cabin is wonderful and clean. However, listing and Property Manager showed fenced yard as larger than it was. Our dog loves to play ball and there was not enough space and no place else to go that we knew of. Also, the roads leading up to cabin are too narrow for my taste and if a car is coming from another direction, it is scary. I had expressed my concern to the PM about this before arriving. It was not a piece of cake to me. So, if this doesn’t bother you, I highly recommend this cabin. Lovely, clean and fully equipped
