We had a great time at this beautiful riverside property! From stargazing on the beach, to kayaking up the the Au Train lake, and finishing at the pictured rock cruise we had a great trip!
The treehouse was well stocked with items you would need. We loved the location, the views of the river were beautiful. Nice to have a full kitchen, as food and coffee shops are limited in Minising. Great time at Pictured Rocks!
Treehouse is a great place to relax and take in all the beauty of Au Train river. The place has everything you need. The general store is right down the road. Being located between Marquette and Munising, there are several waterfalls and hiking trails to visit. Best adventure ever!
We had a great time staying here for our trip to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It was great to hangout on the deck overlooking the river in the evenings. Matched what I expected from the listing and more.
We loved the property. We spent 5 days there while exploring pictured rocks. The back deck overlooking the river was great and we grilled out there almost every night. Mosquitos were terrible but easily remedied with a thermacell. Would definitely consider this property again on our next visit.
The property is a little worn, but clean and cozy. The shower is small, but the water is hot, there's a good wood stove, and plenty of fun things to do in the area. Would return.
We enjoyed the home and deck with the kayaks. The road being so close was definitely a downer, as our kids would have liked to play catch and we would have liked to let the dogs run a little.
The property was right on the river and very clean. So peaceful! The weather was mostly cold and rainy during our trip but we’re looking forward to staying again next year and kayaking the river. Great location between munising and Marquette!
The house is beautiful and really well equipped for all needs. The view of the AuTrain river is only eclipsed by its location - go down some steps and it’s right there. Close to Lake Superior. The beach is lovely and not terribly crowded. Great central location- close to Marquette and Munising plus a couple small markets down the street. Love, love, loved it!!
We loved the central location. The property was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The kayaks provided were a nice perk. If you use them, just beware that you need to carry them to an access point. It is almost impossible to carry them down the hill. We had an issue when we used the numbered key pad to lock the door. We could not get back in using the security code and notified the property owners who responded very quickly to our problem. The beds were very comfortable and the shower, although small provided good pressure and hot water. We loved the windows and the view from the living room area. It was fun to watch all the people kayaking on the river. We did as well and enjoyed it very much. Overall, we enjoyed our week spent as the treehouse.
This spot was central location for all of our excursions but beautiful and peaceful enough for days when we had no plans. I was blown away by the cleanliness and the available amenities. Would love to return in summer to utilize river access. It was a beautiful place to unwind after a day of adventuring.
Enjoyed hiking & canoeing nearby & @ National Scenic Lakeshore. Cooked delicious meals in well appointed kitchen. Spent late afternoons on the deck in the sunshine & overlooking the river. Surprised by the road noise.
A nice, no fuss place to spend a week with friends (and furry friends) in the UP. A good location with plenty of nice hiking nearby. Just down the road was a beautiful full sand beach. But the real treat was the river itself and the kayaks that were available for use. Such a lovely, calm river ride that was 3+ hours route down to the nearby landing spot off the bridge. The only downside was that the property was right off the road, so the fire spot wasn't very secluded, but everything else made that such a small concession for our group. It was a good place for up to 4 people, and very pet friendly which was so nice.
Great Location for exploring the "U.P." centered between Marquette and Grand Marais! Had what we needed. House was oddly configured and has not been updated yet. Looks like it has a new roof and exterior, but interior old, but functional. Bathroom was small and lighting poor. Bed was very comfortable, however, all the other furniture was not as good. Kayaks on site, but not easy to transport from outside house down to the private dock. Dog friendly, which is not always easy to find.
Would stay again.
We totally enjoyed the river behind the property. We kayaked right off the dock, watched other kayakers float by, listened to birds. The house was close enough to Munising to experience all it had. And also not too far from Marquette. Lovely!

Deceiving
The outside needs some TLC, sitting on the deck wasn’t an option. There is no AC and the majority of the blinds are busted so you cannot open them to open up the windows. Bring your own towels as the ones there are stained and rough. Also recommend your own TP, unless 1 ply is your thing. You’re also expected to clean the place before you leave, washing windows, vacuuming, etc. The tv was a joke, there was never a network connection for you to even watch it. Definitely not worth the money, we ended up packing up and leaving early.
The house is on a bluff above the Au Train river. It is a nice quiet spot. The interior and furnishings are very nice. They have kayaks that you can use. We kayaked up to Au Train lake which was very nice. The beds are very comfortable. The two lounge chairs and couch look inviting but unfortunately the cushions are totally shot so not very comfortable ( our only complaint). You can get to many public access beaches very easy from here and Marquette and Mussining are within easy distance. Loved having washer and dryer to use.
Great little cabin for us and our two dogs. Good location near munising, short drive to marquette and grand Marais. Communication with the owner was prompt. This place had everything we needed, will definitely be back!
