Our fully furnished cabins are ready for you to enjoy. We are located inside the beautiful Hiawatha National Forest. There is something for all of the outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy. Bring your food and sense of adventure and let us take care of the rest.
We are surrounded by all kinds of outdoor recreational opportunities that the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Snowmobilers/ATV's have direct access to the best trails in the Midwest. The Buckhorn Resort is approximately eight miles away and they offer family dining and a lounge that is open daily. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore offers some of the most amazing hiking trails in the country and they are located just minutes away. You will also find numerous waterfalls in the area. A property manger is on-site in the office to answer any questions or be of assistance during your stay.

Our family truly enjoyed our stay. The home was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches such as firewood on hand and reliable Wi-Fi that kept our teenagers happy. We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and direct access to the woods, which made our visit even more memorable.The location was convenient for exploring downtown, and while the grocery store was on the pricier side, the advance notice was helpful. Visiting Pictured Rocks was a stunning experience and one of the highlights of our trip.Thank you for providing such a wonderful place—we look forward to returning in the future.

Nice Cabin

This cabin worked very well as a launching point for Pictured Rocks and the Munising area. Our family of 6 had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked, the decor was cute, and we enjoyed the large TV in the living room for watching movies.

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

We really enjoyed our stay at this very comfortable, private cottage in the woods. The cabin was well stocked with everything to make for an enjoyable stay to relax, cook, and spend time outdoors. The owner was a great communicator, the cabin exceeded our expectations and the location was great to explore the Munising area, Pictured Rocks, Grand Island and many hiking trails. I would highly recommend this cabin for up to 6 people.

Awesome Property

This property was very nice. The cabin is modest, but clean and well maintained. It had everything that we needed for the weekend. The trails and lake on the property were wonderful for walking the dogs around. I would definitely recommend staying here for anybody who wants a little bit more space, whether it be for pets, kids, etc.

Great vacation cabin

My husband and I had wonderful vacation staying at the “Tin Shack “ for 5 days. The cabin was very clean and in good repair. The owner Ryan was very easy to contact and answered questions promptly. The cabin is in an area that is remote and quiet, yet is it a short drive into Munising. Highly recommend this property.

My husband and I really enjoyed our long weekend at the Tin Shack! It was so cozy and had everything we needed. Ryan made us feel welcomed and really made our pups feel welcomed. :-) The location was the best part of our stay - we were surrounded by the beautiful forest and super close to the snowmobile trails. Can’t wait to go back! PS - Thank you for leaving the Christmas tree up - it made the house even more cozy!

Sledding in the UP!

This has been our third time staying at the Lake Tahoe Resort Property. This trip we stayed in the TIn Shack. It was a very well maintained, Clean and comfortable Cabin with plenty of room to relax. Easy access to Snowmobiling trails. We had plenty of snow and was an awesome way to end the season. Can't wait till nex time.

Perfect Home Base

The Tin Shack served as the perfect home base for our exploration of Pictured Rocks. The house was VERY clean, bedding was comfortable, and kitchen well-stocked with essentials. New deck, outside table and charcoal grill were appreciated. An update to more comfortable chairs in the living room would make that area more appealing. Be sure to bring along any spices, oils, or other food prep essentials if you plane to cook. We appreciated the coffee provided, though we had brought our own. Decor is very north woods-y and cute. A bit of cleanup of the outdoor area adjacent to the cabin would be more welcoming on driving in.

Christmas snowmobiling

We stayed at the tin shack for a week with my boyfriend, his parents and our dogs. The cabin was peacefully located out in the woods and close to ride for the trails which was good since there hadn’t been much snow. The cabin itself was adorable, they had it decorated for Christmas snd it felt like home away from home. We rent places a lot and we’re so surprised by the amenities the cabin provided, it had everything we needed plus some. Everything was so clean and cozy. We will 10/10 recommend this cabin. We’re also saving it to our list of favorites!

Perfect Home Base for Waterfall Adventures!The Tin Shack was exactly what we needed for our trip: cozy, comfortable, and incredibly well-equipped. The kitchen had everything imaginable, including a crockpot, air fryer, Instant Pot, drip coffee maker and a Keurig. Whether you’re planning to cook full meals or just brew a quick cup of coffee, you’re covered.The cabin itself was spotless and clearly well cared for. The surrounding property was beautiful, with plenty of space to explore and unwind. It made a perfect home base for our waterfall-hopping itinerary.A couple of things to note:1. There’s no cell service (at least for Verizon), but the Wi-Fi worked great for everything we needed.2. There’s no air conditioning, but we visited in August with temps in the high 80s and were totally comfortable. The cabin stayed surprisingly cool, and fans are available.Highly recommend this peaceful and well-stocked retreat!
The deck/firepit was an awesome touch and yes, we did use it.

Best place in the UP

I would recommend this property to anyone looking to book a cabin in the Munising area. Not only we’re the hosts very available and accessible they answered questions immediately responded to text messages in minutes made the whole experience so easy but that’s not the best part this is hands down the cleanest property we have ever rented! From the moment you walk thru the door you can smell how fresh and sanitized everything was not in a bad way in a way that makes you feel comfortable and secure that time was taken to do it right any property that has white sheets and white towels and they are pristine white and clean gets 5 stars in my book! For those who watched friends it was not just clean it was “Monica clean”! I’m a bit of a freak about cleanliness and letting my dog somewhere that your unsure how other guests act and treat a property but at this property I did not even think twice. It was such s joy staying here can’t wait to come back 😁

Peaceful, Convenient, Complete

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Tin Shack. Ryan was most responsive with every inquiry. The accommodations are exactly as stated. We lacked nothing. We felt very comfortable and safe there and we had everything we needed. We don't eat out much so being able to prepare meals is important to us. Everything we needed was there. It was super easy traveling with out little dogs as well and Ryan didn't make us feel uneasy at all about bringing them. There were furniture covers provided and little treats waiting for them. The house is away from the hustle a bit, but close enough that it's just a quick drive to many of the falls and points of interest. We took a few day trips and found that it was centrally located from may of the falls and points of interest. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Ryan! Great host. Great accommodations.

We had a great time up north at the Tin Shack. The neighborhood was peaceful and the fall colors were unbelievable. Our kids screamed “yes yes yes!” when we opened the doors to their weekend getaway, and we had a nice bonfire under the stars. Best Bang for your Buck!

Ryan and his Mother were amazing hosts! The cabin we rented was spacious and well kept and decorated. We enjoyed the outdoor space of the fire pit and grill amenities. Compared to other spots we had looked at booking in the area this was the best bang for the buck. Ryan was more than accommodating to our couple requests for more firewood as we were having such a great time at the property around the campfire! The cabin itself was also just close enough into town to enjoy the attractions but have that Up North feel. Thank you for hosting us! We would definitely like to make the trek back up and stay again soon!

Excellent amenities and location

The cottage was very quaint, very well furnished, only 5 miles south of Munising. The cottage had everything that you need, including a fire pit, which already had firewood in it for us to use! I would definitely stay here again. Recommend putting the 2 fans that are in the cottage in the windows at night to bring in the cool air as the cottage does not have air conditioning. It does get a little warm during the day, but definitely cools off a lot at night. I would definitely stay here again!

The Tin Shack is awesome!

Perfect home base for a UP adventure

This was our second time staying in a cabin owned by these hosts, first time staying in the Tin Shack. Holly and Dan made sure we had everything we needed and responded quickly to any questions. They also helped us with recommendations for places to visit! Everything was clean, fully stocked, and we had plenty of room to spread out all over the place! Perfect for two people exploring the UP summer, and definitely room for more travelers if you have more in your party. The cabin is beautifully situated in Hiawatha National Forest, with many hiking trails less than 20 minutes away. Couldn't have asked for a better cabin to come home to everyday.
