This was a great stay! The place was clean and the area was great as well. Parking was readily available. You could hear noise/footsteps above, I would bring headphones or ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Overall great and would recommend!
Came to Chicago from Pittsburgh with my 16yr old son and his 2 friends for Ye concert. Perfect amount of space (couch is super comfortable and I slept on it) amazing shower with what seemed to be never ending hot water! Close enough to downtown yet far enough to not have chaos, traffic and noise. I will be looking for this property the next time we come to Chicago! Hosts were super kind and helpful while simultaneously not knowing they were upstairs. Parking was never an issue either! Thanks so much for being a part of a lifetime memory my son and I!

So glad your stay was enjoyable all around Leah! Appreciate the glowing review. Look forward to hosting you again whenever that might be.
Host was fast with response and very welcoming. It was very clean. Was also close to the el for transportation to the city. A great place to stay, would definitely recommend.
David’s apartment worked well for our family’s visit to the University of Chicago for graduation weekend. The apartment is spacious (much bigger than it looks in the photos), clean, comfortable, quiet, and well-equipped with lots of amenities. We could easily take buses to the University and downtown Chicago. David went the extra mile to meet us on arrival to make sure we got checked in and situated.
Great location for downtown university Chicago medical visit

was disappointed with our experience. i was here with my friend for three nights. we had problems with the keypad not working and had to get help from the host twice, with the second time being told we need to pull the door tightly shut as we were putting in the code. when we got inside, we were meet with a large hole in the wall which we believe let mold and dust into the air that made us sick. the windows are distorted but don't have blinds, which made us uncomfortable, especially the one in the bathroom. the mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. the host was quite loud when we were laying down to go to sleep which made it hard to unwind and led to us being cranky. the room needed a deep clean and a good dusting and treatment for spiders, as we saw big ones outside and smaller ones inside. we're both arachnaphobes

I am sorry your stay was not to your liking.
When I came to meet you to open the door it seemed as
if you were quite apologetic both times for bothering me. I replied "No problem". I believe it worked fine after you realized what the issue was.
The temporary dry wall replacement was covered in plastic. It was sprayed with vinegar before being placed.
Vinegar kills any mold there might have been.
I wish you had called as soon as the noise above was bothering you. Every renter has a different tolerance level. It is stated that people do live above. Sorry if it
bothered you for one night.
We have never had one renter have an issue with the bathroom windows in 7 years as they are distorted glass blocks and do not allow clear viewing. The windows inside the unit are similar with privacy material embedded.
I take pride in keeping the place clean and do the best I can. It is the warm season, and a bug or two can sneak in. Terminex visits 4 times per year.
Perfect location for our stay in Chicago. Comfortable, safe place and great a/c! Check-in/out was straightforward. The proximity to public transit was convenient. Thanks for a great stay!
We had an amazing stay! Our host were extremely friendly which made us feel very comfortable. The neighborhood is very quiet and the room itself was exactly what we need for our short stay
Cute place and great hosts! Quick and cheap uber to downtown. I would defingely stay here again

About the host
Hosted by David Fleming
I'm from Southern Wisconsin originally Moved to Chicago in 1987. Have lived in several of its neighborhoods over the years, their character are what make this city so popular and enjoyable. I served in the US Navy for several years. Have traveled extensively, save the Far East. I've been to Antarctica 3 times. Even the South Pole. Meteorologist for over 25 years. Currently a mental health therapist. Where is your favorite travel destination?
Why they chose this property
Proximity to the lake 10 minute walk. There is much less traffic on the Southside of Chicago than the north side. Hyde Park is very close with the University of Chicago, hospital, restaurants, diverse population, decent stores, and now The Obama Center! 10 minute Uber ride. You can be at Grant Park in less than 10 minutes by car. McCormick Place 6 minutes. Mass transit available in all directions. Bronzeville is known for being home to many famous Black musicians who were born/raised here, and performed. Hence, wss designated a Heritage Corridor in 2023.
What makes this property unique
The unit could easily be a stand alone apartment. Open concept. Tall ceilings and a cozy electric fireplace for winter nights. The shower has 2 heads! Everyone who has stayed shared loving the layout.
