Thank you for your great review Bev, and pleased you all enjoyed our families cottage with the lovely private deck. Great to hear you all had a comfortable nights sleep, and enjoyed the house facilities and being close to the Boat Ramp.
We look forward to hosting you again on your next visit to Kuratau.
Very nice property that is modern, clean and well equipped. Relatively small with all rooms (including the bathroom) off the lounge/ kitchen area but not an issue depending on the group.
Nice quiet accommodation with easy access to walking track and lake. Perfect spot for relaxing and getting away from the hum drum of life.

Absolutely stunning area. 10 min walk from lake taupo. 15 min drive from amenities at Turangi. In urban area but still has the isolated bach / holiday lifestyles
We spent Christmas here with our toddler, and parents visiting from Scotland. The cottage was ideal. Peaceful, homely with plenty of outdoor space and a well supplied kitchen. Highly recommend!

Nice property, but no internet, no smart TV, and moths
The owners have done a lovely job furnishing the property. It's near the Westside of Lake Taupo. Great fishing and very nice beach, but there a couple of issues. The property lacks internet! It's the 21st century, not having internet is like not having indoor plumbing or electricity. Without the internet, there's no smart TV. The owners told me (after I checked-in) that they didn't realize it was important, and that people could use their cell phones. I'm an international traveler, and don't have a NZ cell plan as all prior properties in NZ have had internet. At the very bottom of the listing, it said no Wi-Fi, but that doesn't mean no internet. They've spent a small fortune decorating the place and no internet seems out of step. Lastly, the unit gets very hot, and when I would arrive home in the afternoon, I had to open the slider and front door. This invited in the moths as the sun set. Every night, I would get attacked by moths. Trust me, after the first night this got old. The property is very nice, but the owners need to install internet and find a way to cool the property. If they fix these issues, it could be a great place to stay.

Thank you Larry for your compliments on our holiday cottage, the decor and our overall property.
We are exploring internet and wi-fi options for our family holiday cottage. Also, adding a small extension cord so our fan can be moved around the cottage as required.
Really great location - close to lots of lovely tracks and walking distance to the boat ramp and river mouth and the cafe/winery at Kuratau. Compact, modern and very tidy property. Has everything you need for a relaxing break. Owners are great communicators. We had a fantastic summer holiday with our 17 and 20 year old kids. We got lots of use of the BBQ and great deck and outdoor area. Ideal for a summer vacation.
Rented for my parent as had no room at home and they loved it. Good open living area so relax by the gas fire

We have owned our Lake Taupo holiday home for over 16 years. We have named our families holiday home " Iti Taonga" which is the Maori name for "Our Little Treasure" holiday Retreat, in Kuratau Lake Taupo. We set up our holiday retreat, and equipped our home with all you would need, including the Porta Cot. I have an Accounting background, and Ken has business background. We enjoy travelling overseas and have visited many beautiful places.
We also are cyclists and are enjoying discovering other areas around New Zealand. We have completed the "Otago Rail Trail" in Central Otago, South Island of New Zealand.
Why they chose this property
Our Little Treasure Cottage is perfect place to enjoy a little piece of New Zealands hidden paradise. Kuratau is off SH 41 and is a family friendly area. Your family can share special memories with many bush walks, and a beautiful lakeside reserve to walk around. On cooler evening relax by our cosy gas log fire. A short walk to the children's play area and tennis courts. Walk to Floating Rock cafe for a coffee or enjoy a glass wine with a yummy woodfire pizza.
What makes this property unique
Explore the bush walks; wonderful Tui's and bird life around the area for all your family to enjoy. Mt. Ruapehu is only a 40 Minutes drive away. Take a trip on the new Sky Waka Gondola at the mountain, the soak in the Tokaanu Hot Pools after a day exploring the Tongariro World Heritage Area.
