Come and enjoy a slice of nostalgia in Clyde's historic precinct. Historical Hazlett's Home is one of Clyde's oldest homes - now a renovated stone cottage full of character.
Stay in Clyde's top location, right in the heart of the old town, opposite Olivers and a few steps to other local eateries and shops. The house is the original home of Mr James Hazlett - an early arrival on the Otago gold mining scene and dates back to the early 1860s, featuring exposed brick walls and kauri floorboards, but with all the modern features and facilities you need for a comfortable stay.
Relax on the covered veranda and watch the world go by, or use it as a base to explore everything the wonderful Central Otago region has to offer. Close to the Rail Trail, wineries, walks, 10 minutes from Alexandra and just under an hour's drive to Queenstown or Wanaka.
The home features two large bedrooms, WiFi, smart TV, a well equipped new kitchen with breakfast bar and open plan dining/living room (with gas heating), modern bathroom (shower only) and a large private rear garden to sit in the sun with a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir. BBQ available.
Linen and towels are provided and cleaning at the end of your stay is included but please put out your rubbish and leave the house tidy. Please note the house isn't suitable for very young children.

The cottage was very centrally located in the middle of Clyde. Everything is walking distance. The beds are comfortable and the cottage had everything we needed. Thanks for a restful stay.
Gorgeous historic property tastefully decorated with modern conveniences. Fantastic location, especially convenient when doing any of the local cycle trails. Plenty of outdoor space to park cars or bikes, and delightful cottage garden- We had a lovely dinner out in the garden under the shade of a tree. Very highly recommended
Charming cottage with a lovely section. Wonderful to stay in a historical home, but with modern facilities. Walking distance to all restaurants in Clyde, which are amazing. The perfect place to stay.
Historic building with an interesting history and modern comfort. Centrality located in Clyde. Saw it last year, stayed this year and would like to return.
This was our second stay at Hazletts and it won't be our last.
Perfect location with spacious off street parking at the back of the house. A really well equipped kitchen, fantastic shower and a new TV in the lounge with easy access to Netflix and YouTube makes it even better.
A perfect place for a couple wanting a quick break from work. And in late November all the roses in the garden are in full bloom which really are beautiful.

So glad you enjoy the house as much as we do. Look forward to welcoming you back next time!
Gorgeous place - only wished our weekend commitments hadn't been so "full-on" as would have loved to have spent more time at the house. Exceptionally clean and tidy in peaceful surroundings with Leanne more than happy to be of assistance!
This is a really charming old cottage, set in a really central Clyde location. The off street parking available is excellent and the queen bed is really comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped if you wish to do your own catering and the shower is excellent. The only thing that lets the house down is the size of the bathroom, which is rather compact, but the excellent shower makes up for it and it's not as if you spend that much time in the bathroom anyway! We are happy to return to this establishment again.
Unfortunately my husband and I found the bed in the master bedroom very uncomfortable to sleep on. Location is fantastic and renovations modernising the kitchen, dining and lounge nicely done. Heating is with a gas heater in the dining area with instructions not to leave it on unattended or at night. Heating in master bedroom is an electric heater and heating in second bedroom is with a small oil column heater. Location is fantastic with Oliver’s across the road. Lovely breakfast at The Bank cafe just down the road. Takeaway cafe across the road. Touch is right next door, our favourite shop in Clyde, awesome shopping there.

Lovely historic property that we have rented twice now.
Lovely historic property that we have rented twice now. Love sitting under the verandah watching the world go by in Clyde but at the same time hidden from those passing. Lovely setting and lovely home. Highly recommend.
