Overlooking Lake Wanaka and the majestic southern alps beyond, this large contemporary house is luxurious and relaxing, offering spectacular views, comfort and quality facilities. Island View Place, provides essentials in the larder and a selection of fresh breakfast items for your first morning.

Accommodation consists of 5-6 bedrooms, 4 ensuited. (8 beds total)

The ski fields of Treble Cone, Cardrona, Snow Park (Terrain Park) and Snow Farm (Cross Country Ski Field) are all short drives away, and, after an energetic day up the mountain Wanaka town has a vibrant cafe and restaurant culture where you can find delicious food any time of the day.

Close to Lake Wanaka and its many amenities, Eely Point and Beacon Point Walks, and many mountain bike trails, Island View Place provides guests with the 7 adult and 5 childrens bikes for their use.
Special conditions:
Island View Place, IVP is available for exclusive use. It has a stocked larder and fresh breakfast items are provided for the start of your stay. IVP is a unique experience where we are always at hand for any requirement, but guests have a gorgeous luxury house all to themselves.
Guests also have access to the 2 heated pools, 2 spas, gym and BBQ at Peninsular Bay facilities. (facility rules to be strictly adhered to)

This home was perfect for our week in Wanaka. Beautifully appointed with everything we needed to make meals, with options to sit outside or inside, looking at the beautiful lake and mountains. Each bedroom had its own private bathroom with lovely views as well. We enjoyed being close to downtown Wanaka, and having options to use the community pool and facilities as well as ride bikes into town. We will definitely make this our home away from home next time we are in Wanaka!

Ladies weekend

We had an absolutely fantastic weekend away and the house is 5 stars. The views are amazing. The house is well equipped; we all enjoyed having our own bathrooms and the breakfast treats were very much appreciated. All of us would love to book the house again to spend time with friends and family!

Could not have asked for a more comfortable and well equipped house ( mountain bikes even provided!). The views from the living area and bedrooms were stunning, the kitchen was well equipped and the fireplace was most enjoyable especially when sitting in those fabulous sheepskin beanbags. Exceptional Family Home

We stayed at Island View Place as a group of 12 - 6 adults and 6 children (18 months - 8 years). Everything about our stay was amazing. The house is a great size for large groups, with plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen was excellent to cook in and well equipped with everything we needed. The pantry was stocked on arrival and included fresh fruit and milk etc to cover our needs before we went to the grocery shop. The house was heated when we arrived at night and the fireplace was the central place for both kids and adults to relax at the end of each day. Wonderful views of the snow covered mountains and Lake Wanaka. We loved every minute at Island View Place and would definitely stay there again.

Wow! Just wow! Beautiful place in Wanaka

Place is just amazing, view was great, close proximity to central part of Wanaka. House was beautifully designed and lots and lots of space for the whole family (7 adults 2 kids). Kitchen is huge, with 2 dishwashers, modern facilities. Living space with the fire place was wonderful. Lots of board and card games for the family when too cold to get out. Sitting space front and back. Dedicated washing and dryer room. The garage with a whole list of sports facilities - bicycles, boots hanging rack. Julianne was very helpful in providing prompt response and got back to us when we needed help. Pricey for us but well worth it.

Fantastic in every respect

First impressions was of a very clean, well appointed modern property with uncluttered space and beautiful furnishings. . Digging a little deeper we found a kitchen so well stocked with cookware, serviceware and appliances (eg. dual ovens and dishwashers) that we were able to prep elaborate meals. The garage had multiple bikes with helmets and locks. The beds were very comfortable and linens top notch. The property is near the top of a hill providing unobstructed panoram8c mountain and lake views. It is quick access to town, the lake and the bike and hike trails. All that was missing was a longer stay. The only minor irritant was that the wifi was unreliable beyond the main living area... something easily fixable. Can't recommend this property enough.

EVEN BETTER THIS YEAR!

We love the South Island, have been visiting since 1988. The Wanaka area remains our favorite place to spend a relaxing 2 week stay, and IVP continues to be our preferred rental. We stayed 10 days in 2023, and 2 weeks this Feb (was already reserved by others pre and post stay dates, so couldn't stay longer). Owner had added a mini-split A/C, heat pump to the upstairs master, which tremendously improved the comfort during those sunny afternoons! Also added power shades in upstairs landing. These were the only noteworthy downsides we had experienced on the previous stay. The neighborhood is absolutely wonderful: quiet, many walking paths, greenbelts, friendly residents, upscale etc. Plenty of day hike opportunities in the Wanaka area. We prepared most of our meals, drank good Pinot, and enjoyed the wonderful dinners enjoying the views from the patio or dining room. The most relaxing vacation we have had in years - lived almost like the locals! Also very important to note: even though they have a wonderful local contact (Sabine), the owner still checked on us even while she was awaiting evacuation orders from her main residence above Christchurch due to large grass/forest fire in her neighborhood. We will not hesitate to stay at IVP again

What an amazing property and location!

I can't say enough about this property. We booked it long in advance, and our host was quick and excellent with communication throughout the process. This property is beautiful, spacious, and has just about everything you need to have a good time during your stay. The floorplan is gorgeous and thoughtfully designed. It has stellar views of Lake Wanaka and the surrounding mountains. The kitchen is well-equipped and the furnishings are excellent and comfortable. It is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with other gorgeous homes nearby. The internet worked great from all rooms, and the air conditioning worked quickly and well when and if it was needed. Even though we were there in the heart of the summer, we didn't need to use the air conditioner much because there was always a fresh, gentle afternoon breeze blowing and we had the windows wide open to let the fresh breeze cool the house. Having the bikes in the garage were great. We used them often. It you like to walk or bike, the trails begin a hundred feet away. When we wanted to take the car to a nearby beach or go to downtown Wanaka, it's a very quick 5 to 7 minutes away. The town of Wanaka is wonderful, the people are friendly and the surrounding region abounds with nature's breath-taking beauty. I hope we can soon return to this location, and if we do, this place would be solidily at the top of the list to stay. It's an absolute slice of heaven.
