Like staying at Nan’s. The sound of the ocean and the view were the highlights. Lovely community. The bach is dated, but had everything my little family needed for 2 weeks. Would stay again.

Holiday
The access to The Bach was a bit difficult with our SUV vehicle. But as we were only there for a couple of days and out for most of the time it was adequate. The cleanliness was a bit lacking. The venetion blinds in the front area were filthy and there were a few cobwebs around. The kitchen needs some teaspoons but plenty of other cutlery, plates etc. Overall it was suitable for our needs.
Really enjoyed the local swimming holes, the views, and even the books on the shelf. Turned our long weekend into a highlight of the summer!

This well-equipped house is in a great spot on top of a cliff about an hour north of Auckland. The kitchen has enough plates, pans, glasses for an army and there's a gas barbecue outside. The beds (queen and bunk) are comfortable. The sound of the sea ensures good sleep.Choice of two swimming spots within 200 metres- Red Beach one way and off the rocks (sandy under foot) the other. Orewa's restaurants and shops are about 2 km away. TV in the living room needs replacing, but all round perfect

Clean but small and tidy.
Clean but small and tidy. The stove back right element needed new tinfoil as it gave a burning smell when we cooked. The front right element did not work.
Beautiful location, beautiful view. It would be a nice relaxing property if we had not been up for a SLSNZ competition.

This is a really WOW bach.
This is a really WOW bach. The location was out of this world overlooking the sea, with the sound of waves, access to Red Beach easy with delights whether full or low tide. We really liked that this was a real bach experience - a lived in place within a lived in holiday location with history rather than a home made empty. Just perfect for what we wanted

A great old-school kiwi bach in a nice community.
A great old-school kiwi bach in a nice community. We had atrocious weather for our weekend stay there, btu the house was very well equipped and comfortable. Just a note for future ppl - be wary of turning on too many lights as sometimes it trips the power supply. This didn't impact our stay there, but just a note to be conscious of where the power box is :) Would stay again.

Great place, fantastic sea views, right by to two lovely beaches.
Great place, fantastic sea views, right by to two lovely beaches. The cabin was well equipped, everything was in good order. It also had a homely fee which suited us perfectly while we were finding our feet on arrival from the UK. Good shops and attractions nearby we enjoyed walking in the Shakespeare Conservation Reserve. Would definitely recommend the property to friends.
