About this property
A tranquil country cottage
This cottage is ideal for those in the area for the night for an event and looking for somewhere to stay, but would make a great long weekend escape too. With plenty of activities in the area, it is also a suitable holiday destination.
The cottage was built in the 19th century as the Cookhouse, so was home to the person who cooked for all those who lived and worked on the farm. It is set in a garden with a variety of fruit trees, and if you visit in spring the verandah will be draped with the most magnificent wisteria.
The cottage is spacious with a huge kitchen, a Kent fire and an open fire.
We are located less than 15 minutes from Feilding, about 10 minutes from Bulls, and about 25 minutes from Palmerston North. Manfeild in Feilding is only around 15 kilometres away. Ideal location for those going to the Central Districts Field Days.
There is a golf course about 6 kilometres away. Both Bulls and Sanson offer fantastic antique shops and cafes and are within a 5 - 10 minute drive. Mt Lees Reserve is close by and has a 1-2 km well-maintained track through native bush.
Special conditions:
1.There is a haha at the front of the house that may not be suitable for children. 2. We have a policy of minimum 3 night stays across public holidays. 3. We are not currently taking bookings more than 3 months in advance.

A wonderfully peaceful place to stay. So spacious and very comfortable to sleep. The grounds are stunning and the open fire keeps the house so warm even over night. Loved our stay
Lovely spacious cottage, with a large well equipped kitchen; warm sun traps front and back.
Great location for exploring the Manawatu and Whanganui areas, with lots of walking and biking opportunities in easy reach.
A lovely, quaint old property that was once a farm cookhouse. Quiet and secluded setting but within easy driving distance of Feilding, Marton and Bulls. A perfect four-day break and we'd be keen to stay again.
Great cottage in truely tranquil surroundings. We throughly enjoyed our stay in spite of the weather. Property well appointed and the hosts were attentive in their communication. Would love to come back again!!!
Amazing cottage, very peaceful , comfortable with Aircon & dishwasher. Awesum relaxing trip sitting on deck watching the cows and the birds. Our 3rd time here and will be back.

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting.
Myself and my bridesmaids stayed here the night before my wedding and got ready here the morning of. Plenty of space for us all (huge kitchen too), and lots of room for the make up artist and hair dresser to spread out.
Communication with the host was lovely, quick and detailed responses.
Would 1000% reccomend.
We absolutely loved our week at the Cookhouse over Christmas. Such a magical place to be! Our daughter loves running around the yard and just exploring. We have stayed before and decided to bring the rest of the extended family this time. Everyone thought it was the most amazing place. Thanks for a lovely stay.
