About this property

Retreat to the farm and enjoy the native bush and stream.

The self-contained studio unit has recently been completed! Overlooking the garden, it is the perfect space for your break away from home or stopover.
There is a queen bed in the main bedroom and fold out double sofa bed in the lounge room.
A single mattress is available to place on the floor. All bedding and towels are supplied. A digital tv can be viewed in the lounge room. It's not a smart tv but there is a chrome cast available.
You will be warm in winter and cool in summer with a Daikin system on the wall. There is also an electric blanket on the queen bed.
The kitchenette houses an electric jug, toaster, microwave, electric frying pan and induction cooker. There is also a full size fridge/freezer in your room; as well as plates, cutlery, mugs etc.

Want to experience the farm animals? Ask about feeding the 2 Kune Kune sisters or the friendly sheep and ducks.
Need time to unwind? Walk through the native bush and sit by the stream for a while. You might even see the resident eel or spot a range of native birds. Come for a walk with the dogs.

Relaxing getaway
Wendy hosted us at her beautiful farm home. An evening walk feeding the animals was a highlight! Wendy is very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Was a lovely get away having the peaceful garden and farm as a backdrop as we enjoyed some dinner from a local restaurant. Would return in a heartbeat. Thanks to Wendy for opening up her home for others to enjoy a bit of the farm lifestyle :)

Relaxing and friendly
Wendy, Thanks for a lovely stay. It was great being involved in dog walking/entertainment as well as pig feeding and petting. We really appreciated the last minute massage. A great host. Thanks again Alex and Jonathan

Having lived in Hawkes Bay since 1996, I felt it was time for a change. I had wanted a lifestyle block for some time and when this opportunity presented itself I took it! But I knew the property was never going to be just for me. With the stream and the native bush it was just too special. I wanted to 'open it up' so many others could also share this space with me.
This property lent itself to accommodating others through providing the self contained unit and overflow inside my house. I can also provide a space for campervans. A total of 3 different accommodation options. I hope one of them will suit you. We are also open for day visitors.
I am a PE and Health Secondary teacher by profession, who, after 25 years, left full time teaching in 2014 so I could pursue my Essential Oils and massage business. I have set up my clinic here at Makino Road. Inquire about having a Vibrational Raindrop Massage with Essential oils while you're here. You won't be disappointed!

Why they chose this property

My home in Hastings had been extensively used through the Home and Away network for the past 3 years. It was lovely meeting people from all over the world who had come for various reasons to Hawkes Bay. I wanted to purchase a property here in the Manawatu that I could also open up to guests.

What makes this property unique

Take the time to wander a long the stream, sit by the water, enjoy the native birds and numerous flora. This is a special place, with so much to appreciate.
Book in for a therapeutic- grade massage with Young Living Essential Oils. You will be happy you did!
And if you really need to get in to town, it's only 10 minutes away.
