Staying with family when visiting from overseas can often end up being a poor life choice for me. This time, I learned from past mistakes and retreated each night to this lovely private little cottage, in Lois' lush garden. Check in and general communication with Lois was easy, and I found the bed very comfortable. It's very Kiwi Kitsch. Great location near Oneroa town centre. Suits fit, unfussy people.
Dont really require a car short 10min walk to town can catch a bus from there. Steps up to cottage not as bad as i first thought at the top of stairs need direction to go to get to lock box i went left should gave gone right? Found lock box and all sorted from there. Front door needs a bit of repair air gap & rain could get in at the bottom be brezzy in winter, shower drain is slow to drain, and toilet doo needs lifting to shut properly. No TV or stove but does have electric frypan. All nice & clean enjoyed our stay.
Perfect place to stay when you want somewhere cosy to sleep after exploring during the day. Close to all amenities and communication with host excellent! Thanks
Location could not be better for those with no mobility issues. Really close to the beach and the village for cafés, shops, and restaurants. The accommodation had everything we needed, and even though a little fragile in parts it provided a peaceful place to chill out. Lois, the owner was friendly and very helpful.
Loved our stay here. Very basic but everything we needed. Super close to town but very quiet and private. Host Lois was a great communicator making checkin & out smooth. (Bed was alittle soft & springy)
If you are looking for an easy, central getaway on Waiheke then look no further. The convenience of this property can’t be be beaten from the awesome location near the Oneroa shops beach and the vineyards to the amazing host who made our stay so comfortable. Highly recommend
We had a lovely 4 nights here. Have stayed a few years back and remembered how relaxing it was while being nicely decorated and very clean and nice touches. You feel like you have really got away from busy city. Close to beaches and shops . All walking distance. Bird Life is a plus. Just lovely. We will be back

Cottage
The cottage was nice enough but the listing didn’t mention the steps and steep pathway to the cottage. THIS WAS DIFFICULT FOR US TO NEGOTIATE BEING IN OUR 70'S AND NOT THE BEST OF HEALTH.
Village cottage is a well positioned house. The owner has set the interior up nicely. The building has seen better days and plumbing is on the blink. I believe it is over priced for what it is but it is Waiheke.
Clean and compact. We had no trouble with the steps leading up to the studio even though we are ˋseniors' Just a short walk to Oneroa beach and the shops. Lovely to be able to sit on the deck and enjoy the peace and quiet
It was very handy to the shops and restaurants and bus stop. Good that milk and tea bags were provided when I got there so I didn't have to rush out and get them I could sit down and have a cup of tea after traveling. Peaceful and quiet. Nice setting
Nicely decorated small cottage studio with lovely deck, back yard and view! Well situated and many personal touches such as reading material, bathroom & kitchen supplies and plenty of towels. Lois was a great host and responded quickly.
Took my boyfriend for a weekend on Waiheke for his 21st birthday. This was the perfect cottage for a couple! The photos on the listing don’t do it justice at all. Lois (the owner) was incredibly helpful - great instructions coming up to check in & replied super fast to any questions. Overall love love loved!
Loved the location of this little studio. It is small but efficient. We were able to make our own breakfast with the griddle provided. Nice deck to sit out on. Enjoyed the quietness. Host was always quick to answer all questions and requests. She was very helpful. Enjoyed our 4 nights there.
My husband and I had a great experience here. It’s the best location, easy walk to town, parking is available (but a car is not necessary on this island) and it was very clean. One of our favorite parts was sleeping with the doors open and having the natural breeze and sounds of nature overnight.
I’m not sure if it’s in the listing or not, but we were made aware by the owner that some sort of physical agility is necessary to climb up the stairs/small hill to the location. This is easy for my husband and I (ages 33 and 40) but it would have been very difficult for either of our parents (who are in their 70s).
We had a great stay here and would definitely recommend!
Lovely stay in a quiet, private, nicely presented bach.
short walk to beach, shops, cafes and bars.
beautiful tracks nearby for walks/runs
Would happily stay again.
