About this property

Waterfront property on Awahuri - the bend of the river as it comes out of Lake Taupo. Sleeps 10 -14. Newly built large home. Amazing views of the river. Full of character and ambience. Fantastic Chefs kitchen, dining and sitting areas all with views. Great year round retreat for ski/snowboard holidays, summer swimming in crystal clear river waters, BBQ's or just a relaxing blissfull holiday. Very sunny, warm and inviting. Large wood burner fireplace. Close to ski fields, hot pools, bush walks, mountain bike tracks etc.
All bedrooms have views. 3 bedrooms on main level. 2 bedrooms in downstairs flat (available if needed for numbers more than 6).$80 per extra person per night over the base of 4. Lots of land and outdoor space. Plenty of room for cars, boat etc.
3-4 minutes drive to town, 10-15 minute walk to town along the river.
Very close to Huka Falls, town, lake, hot pools and all activities. Great spot in summer and winter too. Approx 1 hr to Whakapapa ski fields and National park.
Special conditions:
Smoking allowed outside only.
River swimming - children must be supervised.
Pets maybe allowed with prior approval - outside only.
Stairways, unguarded firebox, not toddler proof.

Perfect spot

The house is gorgeous with everything you need. Over various levels it was perfect for our family reunion giving everyone space. The part of the river its on is one of the few areas you're allowed to fish in so that was very fortuitous for my fishing mad teenager. Sally was amazing when a sudden serious illness meant our group had to leave half way through our booking to get to Whangarei hospital. We were all sad to leave.

A most beautiful house in a magic setting

We went as a 3 generational family of 8 to Rangatira Park and had a wonderful time. The house was absolutely luxurious with river or garden views from every window. There were so many treasures inside and everything was available for us to use. We enjoyed barbecues, the wood fire, playing croquet and hide and seek. The walk to town along the river was another highlight. Just perfect!

Beautiful home in an amazing location!

We had the best week staying at this beautiful home, nestled amongst nature, right on the river. The views were spectacular from anywhere in the house, there was so much room throughout the house that it catered well for all of us including the teenagers and it was located so close to central Taupo which was awesome. Sally was awesome with all communication, nothing was a problem :) We’ll definitely be back

Friends weekend getaway

As a group of 8 girlfriends of many years, this beautiful home and property provided an amazing space for us to relax, catch up, prepare and enjoy meals, swim in the river, and appreciate the gorgeous surroundings. The house and its amenities made it super easy to be as a group, while also having ample space to rest and chill out. We highly recommend this property for anyone wanting a memorable group getaway.

The best place I’ve ever stayed!

The house was perfect for our family trip to Taupō. It was serene and beautiful inside and out. Well equipped and thoughtful touches. Plenty of space to spread out. The river is gorgeous and the best thing to wake up to in the mornings. Sally is an excellent communicator and responds quickly if needed. I would stay here again and again! Thanks so much Sally!! ♥️
